Awesome news. I must have missed it on the forum today. Thanks for the heads up. :D

To bad we still have to survive Thursday first though.

<- Has become a spoiled brad maybe after those weeks of daily updates. lol

For those who haven't looked at WMD today, upgrades are open again. SMS just took back 495.000 euros. So there is a need to fill that gap again. ;)

And not a single pic to celebrate it!! :odd:

;)

I was working on it!

Just became a senior too. Manager is too expensive for me at this moment. A real life car is more important

I always love these close ups. The details that go into the cars make it really hard to imagine how they might look after polishing in the Beta stage, let alone how they might look in a pCARS 2. :dopey:

Then to think the more 'advanced' sims started out with this:

My first post in the Project CARS thread.
This game looks absolutely amazing..

Its very nice for me to see these screenshots, it help me to make my own sim better.
The texture work is really incredible, i know that i have to work on that for my game hehe.

Anyone know if there is a video that show project CARS race track creation process ?
Or any 3d wireframe of a race track ?

Unfortunately no new members can get in anymore. SMS just made some room in the funding for upgrading current memberships. There was a poll on it (wether or not upgrading should be made available again by SMS taking some of their share off the funding) and this was communitys decision. 👍

Wait, they took a third of their funding away? I know they wanted to add room for upgrades but that is a huge chunk, seems odd to get to the funding mark and now we're back down, a long way off it. Seems like a backwards move to me, unless they're planning to re-add funding to get back to 3.75M in a couple of weeks. I've not read the forum for a few days.

The idea is that they will use their own money to fill the gap in the funding, and then take it away as the public funding comes in. The money will be there, just some more of it may come from the public.

The reason behind it is that it will allow SMS to use that money for other projects, like Biker Bash.

oops, now I did it and finally ordered:

Fractal Design Define R4 case (650W)
MSI Military Class 3 Z77 MotherB (USB 3.0, Sata 6Gb/s)
MSI nVidia GeForce GTX680 (2GB GDDR5)
Intel Core i7 3770k (3.5GHz)
Antec Kühler 620 water cooling for CPU
Kingston HyperX 4x4GB DDR3 (1600Mhz)
120Gb Kingston HyperX 3K SSD (will have to do with this)
1TB SATA 7200rpm
DVD burner
Windows 7 Home premium (64b)

:crazy::crazy::crazy: (now I'm poor again!)

It's not the year but the models, The MK1 race car looks similar to the road car and is famous with its Gulf livery. Surprisingly (I believe ) actually won Le Mans after the other updated versions were developed.

The MKIV had a new body to increase aero dynamic efficiency and a bigger engine and was much lighter than the MKI & MKII.

The MK-IV is fully American made, while the others are British. Hence maybe why Ford wanted the MK-IV in the game?

But yeah, the original MK-I is the more iconic one indeed.

I have to say, not that impressed with the Capri, it looks really high res but it looks fake and computer generated, too shiny. I also played this last night and the FFB and Physics felt crazy, cars had no feeling to them and were very difficult to drive. Coming from playing other games recently, the graphics blew me away as expected and Spa was just looking incredible.

I don't remember the handling/FFB being like this last time I played.

It looks fake and shiny because it's not finished. Once it is it'll have the same lighting/shadows etc applied to it as every other car is.

Yeah, its not finished yet.

In saying that I think the Audi DTM and likes of the Capri could do with flex and slight imperfections to the bodywork, some rounding of edges, creases, bit of overhang. Maybe asking too much though.

As you can see in the link below the Capri is still in preAlpha. A lot of lighting stuff still needs to be done.

The handling and FFB are currently being tweaked (see release notes as for the last FFB changes) while we are in the process of getting more and more SETA tyres tuned in for individual cars.

It is basically a balancing act and like they say "one step back, two stps forward". So we will get to a better feel, but we have to take that step back for a bit.

I do have to say that I have no FFB that is horrible.
I don't know if you have done the following, but...
Andy G requested before the weekend build that profiles, FFBtweakers and so on are deleted. I just deleted the entire CARS folder in My Documents for a completely fresh start, which I think isn't bad in a while.
Also he said that you have to re-calibrate your wheel and pedals in game and set the FFB and Tyre Force sliders according to your preference.

As a side note: Andy also said to leave Global Irradiance off as it is not dialed in properly yet or something along those lines. I turned it on and also switched on Reference Lighting in the F1-dev-menu. I found the tracks to be more enjoyable too the eyes to drive on, not so idiotically bright. :)
