I'm not arguing about the motion blur/ghosting when the race is on, I can see it too. yes it's weird, but not a deal breaker. if they can patch it later that's great.

I'm just saying for those people concerned you can't even pause a race and take a photo because everything is in double vision then VVV's graphics video they posted disproves this.
I have directly downloaded VVV's videos and the direct downloads say differently. Mine is the raw information, not filtered through YouTube. It is possible to pause and see no ghosting, but only when there is not a lot of side motion or you aren't moving as fast along the track. But at high speed and when there is side motion, the effect is unmistakable. Maybe this is caused by the recording process and not evident in game, but it most definitely is there when paused on WMP.

yes but my point about in game pausing leaving no ghosts still stands, right? I couldn't see any of it when he was using replay mode of that Formula B race. pausing from video does look less than ideal indeed.

Do you mean pausing in-game while actively driving in real time shows no ghosting? Or pausing a replay being shown on your console shows no ghosting?

pausing a replay. the only thing I have to go on are the VVV videos which are all played back replays apparently. is it true that none of us know what happens when pausing a real time race? afterall, no one's played the console version. we should ask Alan at VVV to pause the live race, then use photomode.

Look what game I have just played!!! Me happy!

It's both real time and pausing. Pausing doesn't change it in any way, just makes it more obvious.

I'm on PC, but personally I didn't find it small, I found it very distracting. It's a legitimate issue IMO, especially if you are coming from games that didn't have this issue.

I hope it's fixed before release or there will be a lot of disappointed PS4 fans.

All team VVV videos are replays with different camera views.

I do not think it matters as it happens only while pausing but Eurogamer can make it sound big and potentially turn off people to buy the game.

Just seen the car list

More like Project not alot of CARS, amaright?
If you compare to console games that have been around for a decade or more, yes. If you compare to every other sim ever released, no.

@kkdrummer where was this? and more importantly, we need detailed thoughts, impressions, and WAS THERE ANY GHOSTING?!?!?!
Mocking people who have a legitimate concern isn't going to do you any favours.

Project 80++ relevant, distinct cars that are actually worth a drive. Makes 10x the cars i regularly drive in GT.

Took the bait gents, I was joking, adequate list, it's like an Anti GT car list.

Basically what you're seeing is two frames in motion at once in a captured pause, In game pause is obviously going to show one frame (well, 60 frames per second but all of the same frame). The reason you don't see this in the captured videos on PC or Xbox is because they are using a different motion blur technique.

You are not going to get this ghosting effect in photomode. You are not going to get it in game when paused either. You obviously get it when paused on a captured video, whether that will be the case with a PS share vid I don't know, nor care to be honest.

Here are my views as of two weeks ago... (Old builds so keep a lid on your meltdowns) :)👍...

If you don't like this motion technique, the weakest AF, and framerate drops... Get an Xbox or PC.

If you don't like more screen tearing, the weakest image quality and framerate drops... Get a PS4 or PC.

If you don't want any of the above... Get a decent PC.

If you just want a blast round with your mates and don't give a **** about any of this... You're my kind of dude

The bigger question is, you've JUST seen the car list? It's been stickied forever here :)

Looks like you're just messing around!

Really? the thread on Gaf was very new.

Edit: PS4 has AF issues again? that is in almost every game now.

easy everyone lol...right... This is Game in Edinburgh UK. I went there to change my pre-order from Pcars to Witcher 3. I will be going digital with Pcars, actually I am downloading it right now.
Right the game...it was just a demo locked to practice, 250 laps. I couldn't do a race unfortunately, but the game looks really good on PS4. I went to Silverstone GP on Formula B, tried the helmet cam which is really awesome cuz it gives you a different feel of the track, really nice! I ran about 5 laps and decided to leave before the store staff kicked me out lol. Ah, nearly forgot to mention that it was not possible to change settings either (apart from weather) so I don't know if traction control etc were on or not, but I can tell you that the difference between cold to warm tires is gigantic! you guys should take it easy on the first lap and a half!!

Sure, here's an example of my sarcasm...

You're entitled to not find that a problem, but not entitled to tell others that an obvious issue should just be ignored because the rest of the game is so wonderful.
i'd love to know what it runs like with that motion blur switched off. i guess not up to scratch in SMS's eyes so this is what they went for. an interesting design choice that must have some benefit or it'd be pointless.
