Watching the new Team VVV vid it's not just the cars that are ghosting but the full image on screen, Noticed coming up to this advert tunnel you see way to many letters...

Hmm. Couldn't it be I don't know... By the fact your pausing a video?? Specially a compressed youtube video...

Dont being silly now, You can see the ghosting when the gameplay is in full flow dont kid yourself on here. Also he has vids of Xbone vids on his channel and PC no signs of any ghosting...I thought we established the fact it was due to the AA PS4 uses?

Don't be silly. Your pausing a video, of a game that was captured from 2 different ways probably. Don't try and judge too much into it. A video won't ever be the same as the actual game.

I just went into youtube and paused a btcc video. An actual real life one. And you know what. A car in the background was all blurred. And guess what, thats not what it was watching while playing. Thats what pausing a video, specially a compressed video will get you.

From Gamersyde, direct download to my hard drive, 1080/60fps, Windows Media Player:

It's an issue. I don't know if it's a replay only issue, or a gameplay issue, but it's quite obvious throughout the video, in real time and on pause:grumpy:

My take on this:

If the devs really saw that TXAA looks bad on ps4, I'm sure they would do a different AA method, like MSAA. If they didn't then it must look good on your TV. Also, if it really is a serious issue when the game is out they will patch in another AA mode, so I wouldn't worry about it.

Where's SMSRenderTeam when you need them? Can someone direct them to GTPlanet?

I personally don't care about or mind the 'ghosting', but would appreciate a technical breakdown and why it's occurring.

How about instead of all this bitching and moaning about everything already wait until you have the game yourself and see how it is then as none of these Ps4 videos are final builds.
Hell they may have sorted it already.

But seriously the things that are being picked on are so small it's laughable.
It's like buying a bloody snooker game and moaning about the red balls being slightly off colour. Jeez

It seems a bug on replays while pausing it nothing else. People stop need to get paranoid

They should be able to fix this a patch
It's both real time and pausing. Pausing doesn't change it in any way, just makes it more obvious.

I'm on PC, but personally I didn't find it small, I found it very distracting. It's a legitimate issue IMO, especially if you are coming from games that didn't have this issue.

I hope it's fixed before release or there will be a lot of disappointed PS4 fans.

It was only a few users that noticed it

did no one watch this video? in it he quite clearly pauses the replay and goes into slow motion and various panning and so on and guess what- no ghosting. I admit I can see it when the race is in motion, but if you're worried about photo mode being ruined or whatever, the replay footage in this video show that all is not lost and it looks absolutely fine.

I will reserve judgment on this matter until I'm no longer watching a YouTube video and have the game in my own disc drive.

EDIT: completely forgot I'm going digital with this game so scratch that last sentence lol

You can directly download PS4 replays from Gamersyde and the ghosting is much more obvious at full resolution/no compression. YT masks some of the effect because the quality isn't the same as it is when played directly from the PC. Maybe it's a recording issue or a replay issue I have no idea.

I think the fear that some people have (originally myself included) was that the ghosting effect would ruin screenshots and photomode as all the paused shots from these video grabs look poor, however the video proves if you watch a replay in game and pause it, it looks fine. it's clearly a motion effect that isn't there when you freeze the game.

it's not like they would include a photo mode that looked all blurry and horrible as there'd be no point.

People are just trying to find things to bitch about it seems.

Im pretty sure this will be fixed with that day one patch. The videos that team vvv are showing off are not even the final build and he said that over and over again. Just remain calm. I think with that day one patch it MIGHT fix the issues that we been seeing.

It's the video. It won't look like this when you're actually playing the game.

I can't wait till next week the first thing I'm going to do is drive as fast as I can but looking at signs and scenery and not concentrating on the road.

Then I'm going for check the quality of the trees! I'm going to go ape if they are all just duplicates of each other.

Then I'm going to go and buy a Gt3 car and compare the sound to the game and if that's wrong God help me I'm going to go to SMS myself and start a picket line outside their studio Because ***** going to hit the fan.

All these threads go to show is how spoilt we all are to worry about such trivial rubbish.
Bring back Micro Machines that never had any ghosting.

Ha ha

in all seriousness I probably will actually do some of that stuff. I can be quite... anal heheh. I'm interested to see what the road textures are like, as the nasty compression on YouTube makes them look all blurry (PS4). will be better in the game of course. I'll be looking for tearing and pop up, because that's what i do. nothing against the game or devs, I'm just interested in such things. I'm still seeing detail popping in and out on the cars during replays, but I'll learn to deal with it. it can't be perfect.

then after a few hours, when I've set up the wheel, camera and FOV, I might actually have a race!

Download a direct capture quality video from VVV off gamersyde then play it through your tv as someone else has said today Youtube actually masks the problem more than actually seeing the game properly.

Alan could still be showing very old builds and if that is the case lets hope this graphical issue is not in the final build come next week.

I'm not arguing about the motion blur/ghosting when the race is on, I can see it too. yes it's weird, but not a deal breaker. if they can patch it later that's great.

I'm just saying for those people concerned you can't even pause a race and take a photo because everything is in double vision then VVV's graphics video they posted disproves this.

Get ye, Aye that would of been a disaster for the photograph's if that happened!

yeah I can only imagine all the Driveclub vs Project CARS photomode comparisons we'd see all over the place if there was ghosting everywhere

actually we probably still will
