Review embargoes should lift on 6th of May, so we can expect more information at least two days before the release. Shame that there is a national holiday on 8th of May in Czech Republic, hope I will not have to wait until Monday. That would be one long weekend. :)
When that happens in Belgium shops are often tempted to release it early. So fingers crossed for you :)

Hi kkdrummer I know Xbox guys are pre-downloading early as such a huge download. I have pre ordered the other day on PS4 the digital copy but I can't seem to find anywhere to start downloading it. Do you mean just purchasing it pre-order or has it let you start to download and store ready yet? p.s New to this digital download thing (I'm old school who has had every game on cassette tape/cartridge/floppy/cd and cd disc since pole position ;) )
I don't know about the ps4, sorry. On the Xbox store I was able to buy and download the game. I think the file was about 19Gbs. I am on fibre 100Mbps, it downloaded fairly quick.

The ghosting to me looks like the basic level of interpolating frames when I use Adobe After Effects for video editing. If the source data is two frames another frame in between is generated that effectively combines the frames either side of it to get the desired number of frames per second. There are more effective ways of filling in frames in After Effects but they take much more processing. I wonder if Project Cars is truely (natively?) 60fps on PS4 or whether it is having to fill in data on the fly to achieve 60fps?

Either way if it looks good when driving I'm happy.

Could we please stop this discussion for another week until everbody gets to play the game? They will not patch it for release just because a few people don't like what recorded videos look like. If it is still an issue for you after you played the game, we can restart the discussion.

Downloading direct capture video's from Gamersyde and watching on your TV does though.

no.

Not really. Capture being the key word, streaming another. Until someone gets the PS4 version in hand, runs it through a HDMi connection and then tells us what happens, the discussion is pointless.

Oh wait, Team VVV have done that and never mentioned ghosting. Whoops.

Those videos are still compressed though. The capturing device will still compress them. Uncompressed video is incredibly large and there is quite a difference. You won't get exactly what you see when playing from a lossy video file.

Give it a week....

Edit: beaten to it.

Even a "direct capture" video is compressed and resampled. There are a lot of visual tricks going on in a video encoder. Also, PS4 footage is out there for several months now and nobody ever complained about 'ghosting' as far as i remember. And yes, the temporal (TXAA) method used on the ps4 is doing similar trickery as a video encoder with the result of not suffering from jaggy fences and other thin, distant objects.
It is beyond me how anybody can believe that SMS will be putting out a game that looks like it renders a stereoscopic image, viewed without polarized glasses. The developers themselves are picky as **** about these things, same goes with the Audio Team.

I dont understand why people are saying it's not visible in gameplay...have they not watched any videos? Or are they just watching PC and Xbone gameplay as it's clearly visible on all PS4 vids.

Get your ass down to your local GAME and see with your own eyes if it ghosts. We can't calm your fears obviously, and all you're doing is scaring other people over an effect that is only clearly visible when you capture the footage and pause. How many people are going to be doing that? Exactly

What do you actually want to achieve by telling us over and over? Get to GAME, if you don't like it, go PC or Xbox.

We can only go on what we can see, It's a non issue on PC & Xbox vids but being a PS4 owner i think i and others have the right to be slightly worried what were getting based on video's put out.

Going to head down today.

I've noticed it since the first(?) PS4 video was released to the public. Back then I wasn't sure if it was the game or artifacts from post-processing of the capture.
When it was in every single video, it became clear it's the game itself.

was watching the PS4 Twitch stream last night and from what I saw even though it was being down sampled to 720p @30fps for the stream there was no ghosting visible to me at all and looked very impressive and very very smooth:D
Roll on the 7th:tup:

Of course you are entitled to worry about something as much as you want. We can only give reasonable explanations for your observations, and if you don't believe it thats also okay. But restating the same thing over and over again, just because 'Video' gets a little boring and annoying at the same time.

Again, please go and have a look at the PS4 version in your local game store. If you see unbearable ghosting everywhere there are three things you can do: Get used to it, get a version were you feel ghosting is not a problem or skip PCars alltogether. Every solution is equally useful to resolve your concerns, since my/our explanations don't cut it for you.
