We interrupt your regular ghosting discussion programme to bring you this special message from our sponsors:
Woop woop! 500 pages of pcars discussion!
Carry on now.
Not really. Capture being the key word, streaming another. Until someone gets the PS4 version in hand, runs it through a HDMi connection and then tells us what happens, the discussion is pointless.
Oh wait, Team VVV have done that and never mentioned ghosting. Whoops.
I've noticed it since the first(?) PS4 video was released to the public. Back then I wasn't sure if it was the game or artifacts from post-processing of the capture.
When it was in every single video, it became clear it's the game itself.
This is the explanation that I'm going with. From what I've seen it is the truth.Pausing video streams doesn't represent the final quality of having the game in hand in your living room.
How ironic that your post is on top of page 501
After all this time we are only just finding out about major problems with the game?

If you call some blur seen in paused screen captures a major problem.
Actually I have mentioned it on multiple occasions, notable every time somebody blames my recording equipment and even on neogaf here http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=160620091&postcount=646
People have been so preoccupied with frame rate they've not really been listening.
As ever, YT videos give a good indication of what to expect, you've seen how it looks and plays, now there's enough information out there for consumers to make up their own mind whether they want to purchase the title, or not.
I still don't get it. I've watched VVV 's videos lots of times and I never notice this ghostin. I watch these vidoes as I intend to play them racing. Eyes fixed on the road/cars ahead and I don't notice it at all.
I think a lot of you are getting caught up in things that's can only be spotted when really scrutinising videos to every bloody single frame And not looking at it as if you was racing.
Is it possible to turn Motion Blur on/off on the PS4 version?
I've just been into game and the ghosting IS visible in game but really on,y noticeable when turning. On the straights it looks like motion blur, when turning both cars and track detail turn to mush!
I can't buy it like this and am now cancelling my digital ps4 order and grabbing the Xbox. Lesser fx but no mush!
I urge all of you to go see for yourself!
This has been confirmed as NO already in this thread
Capturing happens before any image processing is done by the TV. Non 'Game' modes on TV mostly introduce input lag, so the 'Game' mode or 'Direct' Mode disables image processing on the TVs to deliver frames as fast as possible.I've not read all the 500 pages of this thread, so I don't know if this has been asked but .... I've just googled 'motion blur PS4' to look into it and found peoples issues on other games seem to have been resolved by switching 'gaming mode' on on the tv being used .... does anybody know the settings being used on the tv's in the videos ?
Yes, it's starting to look like that is exactly what has happened. We know motion blur is in the game, that's very different from the double image seen when freezing the video capture.Ok, suddenly this thread turned from ghosting problems to a motion blur problem discussion. I for myself would have wished to be able to switch off motion blur on consoles too. Never liked the effect and it is eating render time for breakfast.

The motion blur is seen throughout but it is not something that has hampered my enjoyment in any way.
It is highlighted more when you pause the videos, as you can see its not always as clear in motion.
Having said that, I'm all about frame rate and with the new gen consoles disappointing in their overall performance, compromise is going to become the norm.
On the whole there is a lot of over analysis, not enough focus on the game itself.
It's supposed to be due to the way they have implemented AA on PS4 rather than it being motion blur...Being able to turn it off would most likely make it look like a jaggyfest.Ok, suddenly this thread turned from ghosting problems to a motion blur problem discussion. What us PS4 owners need is for them to use the same AA on PS4 as they do Xbone even if it brings the picture down to 900p
