Just a question

What's the reason why SMS wont make Muti-Class races really MUTI - P1/P2/GT3? Would be so nice to do a 6 hour race at Le Man with all three classes :D

My god i forgot how terrible the AI is when it comes racing formula cars. I'm at bathurst on my career and just can't get pass this race without getting wrecked.:banghead:

Well, guess that makes my career path final now. No Open wheel.

I found it almost impossible until I started using Crew Chief. A good spotter app is essential to running formula races in my opinion.
I love this app. It's nice that you can customize the distances for when it says things.

Formula C is where I've done some of my best races. It's a great car once you get used to it.

It's not that i don't know how to drive the car it's the AI thats screwing it up. Some tracks they race ok at but it's a lot of tracks where they just don't give a 🤬 and just leave you no room at all. Or they just drive their car in so much more deeper and then next thing you know you're in the wall. I'm just gonna say that their really terrible at bathurst. The worst i seen. Other then formula c the AI is pretty good overall in this game.

I don't race AI so I wasn't aware of that 👍

Doing race #8 of my 12 race season each race is 2 hours long. Made this mistake

Video Skip to 1:06:00 And tell me if you personally would not have tried this pass

If the AI were programmed slightly better, I would have attempted the pass. Since they have some trouble, I would have waited.

I would not have attempted the pass. IMO you didn't have the speed or enough space on that corner. The AI's line clearly was going to turn into the apex, and your line would exit wide from the apex. The inevitable happened. Switch roles, and I would have been upset the AI divebombing me.

To be honest its very easy to say in hinesight that you would not attempt that pass ,given that the AI does leave you an opening to get through .The AI leaves it very late to defend the line and when it does unfortunatley for you ,takes you out in the process

I think the real question is .Does your next of kin sue the AI driver?

I would not have tried that pass, you were too far back to have made it stick, and given how far back you were a late apex from the car in front was very likely.

In reality you would almost certainly have been sanctioned by the stewards for that.

Have to be honest this one is not a case of poor AI, in the real world the driver in front did leave a gap via a late apex, but was also clearly still going to hit the apex and would have had almost no visibility of you.

Yeah no way should of tried a pass there to be honest, its Le Mans you have enough long straights to try to pass, or even wait for the slower chicane before start / finish line, very fast place to try to make a pass stick, if it goes wrong it really goes wrong.
Typical embarrassing PCars crash physics though, I know they have yet another excuse for it but it looks lame, would be less annoying to crash into AI in this game if the crashes at least looked good (see DiRT rally for pretty good crashes). Some of the crashes with open wheel are beyond a joke, oh well have to wait till PCars 2 s'pose...
Also sad that modders can do a custom championship but SMS can't.... oh wait...its in PCars 2...

Dude, I really dont defend SMS much but once again: Your whining is annoyingly clueless. You seem to lack the basic understanding of the difference between a mod and a patched in feature. If a mod breaks you just deinstall it and carry on. A patched in feature has to be working with the rest of the game without braking anything, has to be QA tested etc. A mod can be programmed easily as a standalone with external software and run in addition to the game. An ingame feature has to be coded into the game engine, has to be integrated in the UI and has to work with game design limitations. Last but not least you have to have the man power available while a mod is a thing done in somebodys free time. A mod and an ingame feature are two entirely different pair of shoes but you make it sound as if SMS would have to just flick a switch but wont because they are evil and greedy. You re wrong, as with roughly 2/3 of your conspiracy theories and accusations.

Blimey! OK then so your suggesting PCars 2 wont have custom championships then?
They never said out right no to CC up untill the last minute mate, Ian Bell even said at one point its going to happen pretty much once it was stable, they were working on it....
Anyway Ian Bell personally banned you from the official PCars forum and you were a WMD member... lol... I not sure why if Ian won't even deal with your bile that I should have to... good day to you.

Game mode is not the same as game engine ( Frostbite in Battlefield for example ). Adding an additional customizable game mode ( championship in this case, it can also be adding arcade mode, 2p split screen vs etc ) would not require total overhaul of the game IMO. Games nowadays would be modular in design, with each game mode like a part of bigger body. Similar like devs who add online mode into the game that was offline only originally ( Konami with MGS V TPP + MGO ) When MGO went online, players have to download update data to make MGO functional.

Patch means new build : new executable, new assets ( added cars, track, liveries ) when DLC included, new physics build ( updated tire data, car model data etc ), bug/error fixes, stability updates, adding a new championship game module with customization would not be very different undertaking, I think, anyone here have done game development ?

And... You're going back in my ignore list...

I still am a WMD member and you have to deal with my "bile" because you are spreading uninformed vitriol that I m correcting. Of course there will most probably be custom championships in pcars 2 but so what? Of course it is disappointing that they cant get CC to work, but to imply that they are just holding that feature back so that people are gonna buy pcars2 in 2 years from now (or more) is either quite dumb or quite perfidous. Either way, its nonsense, like a large part of your accusations and tin foil hat theories. In the eyes those in the know, you are making a donkey out of yourself. I tried to help you by stopping you from making yourself seem clueless but since you are unable to learn from your mistakes, welcome to my ignore list.

I tried to put it in layman terms. Frankly, my guess is that CC caused too many bugs with data handling and in the UI. Those are both very poor (data handling has been since Shift, think of all the lost setups) and they seem unable to fix them in the short term, so they are starting both new from scratch for pcars2 as far as I know.

The UI and game data flow/handler needs total overhaul IMO, that I can agree too. At least in Pcars 2, I would expect to see each car can have multiple saves for specific session ( qualify, race, time trial ) and tracks :) even better with fuel/tire strategy can be independent to setup that I can pick when entering the pit quickly and use.

If you honestly believe that games developers don't hold stuff back for sequels then your more deluded than I thought. Hell they hold stuff back for DLC for Gods sake! I personally think SMS held back CC, its an opinion I have and I won't change it because you have a strop, its like dealing with my 2 year old, in fact thats unfair on her..

I'll say again you were PERSONALLY banned by Ian Bell SMS head of studio, not one stuck up for you much and you never had your ban over turned... well done, pretty good work considering the pedastal all WMD guys are placed on over there... some piece of work for sure no wonder to like to snipe and take pot shots at people..

Anyway nice way to side step the embarrassing crash physics in that video.. its a joke.
