There's no way I'll pre order this but that goes for every game really. I'm cautiously optimistic. PC2 was a lot of fun and I still play it to this day (admittedly not much choice on console..)

I'm not entirely unsure it's UE5 with Lumen.
Well whatever the geometric accuracy of the lighting engine producing that screenshot, one thing is certain...they got the instrumentation color wrong. Audi gauge clusters have white illumination...it's kind of their hallmark. Wrong color gauge illumination drives me a little crazy in Forza games (like pre-90s cars having LED-level pure white lighting) so it's disappointing and telling to see a introductory image, especially one meant to illicit oohs and ahs, get something so simple, wrong.

Love him or loathe him, I think you could make a strong argument that simracing games overall are better as a result of the projects he has developed over the years, and we have all benefitted from his work. PC2 is a classic game and there still hasn't been anything quite like it in the seven years since.
It's interesting how that Audi interior looks better than anything in racing games (if that's what it looks like when you play the game) as flight sims have had that level of fidelity for over a decade - our hobby is just playing catchup, so it's good to see someone moving the genre forward.

I don't recall them actually doing so, just the reverse layouts being in the title, licences were not quite as demanding back then.

From memory it's been in (as official content) Race '07 (etc.) and RaceRoom, it, along with Pau (also a tight and twisty street circuit) are both excellent fun but need a reasonably competent AI. My Weekly Sim Racing News video this week (should be up later today) will have some Race 07 Macau footage in it.

Didn't even realise Pau had a street circuit, just you tubed an onboard vid to check it out and wow, fantastic track just like Guia Circuit. Certainly two tracks that would be amazing in GT. Thanks for the enlightenment Scaff!

Just give me a true reboot of PC2 with better graphics and AMS2 phyics/force feed back. I think menus user interface was good with PC2 and better then AMS2. Give us greatly expanded career mode. Let us create mini offline career sessions (fully customizable). Ability to share these career sessions with others or use them as online race series. More race cars is always welcome. For me do not care that much about road cars. Track cars are okay. Not sure how good PC3 livery editor is. I think a basic livery editor would be nice.

I know there are good mods for AMS2 and more in the works.

Just got me a direct drive wheel over the weekend and PC2 feels like a new game to me.

Happy Holidays.

The screenshots are from a UE5 car configurator sample provided by Epic. Available here (Same car as in the screenshots) :

In other word those are just stock assets, just like the logo we first saw for the game.
Well, remove the "not" and "un" from my post, in that case... I guess GTRR will be using UE5 - for the visuals at the very least.

We've previously heard from Marco Massarutto on the reasons they're not using UE5 to underpin AC2, so I wonder if GTRR will use a separate physics engine...

So the game has barely been announced and we've already had the wool pulled over our eyes. Stock UE5 assets within a UE5 demo from Epic that's he's possibly attempting to pass as his own (he did say it was in engine, not entirely untrue, just none of the assets belong to him).

Add that to the stock logo that was used amd the terrible studio name. @IanBell when you gonna start being honest about your games man.

PC2 is a great game. It was doing things 5 yrs ago that GT7 is just now toying with.

It really is. I've never played another racing game - in single player - that left me that happy after a race. I still remember battling it out for 4th place and being satisfied.

Well, now I'm gonna re-download it
I purchased PC2 a total of 3 times. First time base game on disk for PS4 Then added maybe one or two downloads. 2nd time complete electronic copy with all add ons (PC2 ultimate) for PS4. 3rd time PC2 ultimate for computer, think still had to add Japan pack separately to get every car. If PC3 ultimate ever gets down to $40 price range on steam might purchase that version. Do not play to much now, since all the add on for AMS2. AMS2 with all PC2 content would be an amazing sim game.

Do not waste your money on pc3 please im begging you. Especially if you’re expecting it to be anything close to project cars 2, or even a sim racing game in general. Legitimately the only game I’ve felt the need to ask for a refund for in my 25+ years of playing video games.

"Most moddable platform ever" from this particular developer sounds like "we'd like the users to do all the work of content creation for us, please". It's not inherently a bad thing, some of the best sims are the ones that allow for significant mods because it extends the life of the game far beyond what the developers alone could manage. But here, I have my doubts about the motivations behind this, particularly if there's an in-game marketplace involved.

I have read many reviews on PC3 and completely aware that it is not "Project Cars 3" that is why have minimum interest in actually purchasing it.
Some I believe are okay with it for what it is and not what it should of been. I fully get and understand "the despise attitude" against it since it was portrayed as being the next evolution of project cars.

This another I believe it when I see it. It sounds good and all but Mr.Bell is prone to hyperboly. He's in the PT Barnum class of hustlers

I tend to enjoy the hype being a hardcore sim racing fan so not having too many titles per few years to get excited about, reminds me of pc1 which was fantastic a title, as was pc2. Agreed however what will stick in the mind will be the last one - but for me, bring it on could be our first look at ue5 in all its glory
