Doesnt make me cry. It makes me wonder why someone would waste 600 dollars just to break something. They are stupid. And if they smashed everything else too, what console do they favor?
Hey now! Them are fightin' words.Thats why Madden gamers hate the 2K games.
I still have one major question that no one has managed to answer and thats about the PS3 being region free....
Is there a 100% guarentee that it will play PS3 games from anywhere in the world on any console? Sony are saying games maybe region locked which is vage and odd... so far have all US games worked on a Japaniese console?
I havent found any testing of this on the net or anything! and when the PAL launch comes what about all the people who have imported PS3's... also does the online aspect work anywhere in the world?
I really want to buy a Japaniese PS3 and then buy UK games because for one its cheaper and also because I may not be in the UK for long soon.....
This is really important because I dont wana buy a UK PS3 then move to another country it would be better to have a US or Japanese console.....

I would be called a Madden gamer, but only because I wanted a football game for my Wii. I probably shouldn't have bought my Wii during playoffs. Trust me, when 2K10 comes out (unless EA renews their license ) I will drop Madden faster than I did Halo.
It's different from game to game, honestly. Some are, some are not. But, for the most part, the NA and JPN regions share the same region code and are fully BC with either console, but AFAIK, the EU consoles will be "region 2" (NA and JPN are "region 1"). So, I wouldn't think any EU games would work on a NA or JPN console, and the other way around.

The thing is, though, that the PS3 is region free. It has always been up to the developers to encode regional lockout, except in the rare cases (Famicom to NES, Mega Drive to Genesis) where the cartridge physically wouldn't fit. Then again, Sony was boasting a while ago that the PS3 would be region free. Hmm...
It is true for both.Besides for pricing controls, software distributors use region coding because they sometimes do not have global distrbution rights for specific titles. This is at least true for the film industry.
<-- You.
Waaay to early to freak. This is freaky. The PS3 sold less than 20k units in Japan last week (Jan. 22nd - 28th).

I also saw like 10 60GB PS3s at Target yesterday.
Waaay too freaky.
E) The PS3 took less than a week to sell more consoles than XB360 sold in an entire year in Japan... now that's freaky....
I think someone didn't pick up on the sarcasm. That's not freaky at all. In fact, anyone who did not see that coming must be some kind of fool.
Waaay to early to freak.
A) It's the end of January, a historically bad month for sales.
B) Sony is doing a great job keeping up with sales, but even so store inventories vary. My neighbor said that every time he has gone by Best Buy they have been out of 60GB PS3's despite getting new shipments every week. Many online retailers are still taking back orders. It is all anecdotal, and jumping to conclusions by just few samples isn't worth getting freaked out over.
C) The PS3 is actually selling close to the same rate as the PS2 did, which frankly I never expected, and don't think it will ever equal the popularity of the PS2.. which coincidentally sold more units this week than the PS3, but at 1/5th the price that doesn't mean anything other than it is still a great value purchase.
D) The PS3 is selling as fast as the XB360 in North America.
E) The PS3 took about a month to sell more consoles than XB360 sold in an entire year in Japan... now that's freaky.... lest we forget that the Japanese market accounts for the second largest in the world for both hardware and software sales, and first per capita.
Really... it is way to early for anything to be freaky, especially based on one week's sales at the end of January.... that said, Microsoft would kill to sell 20k XB360s in one month let alone a week in Japan.
Likewise.I think someone didn't pick up on the sarcasm.
Nonetheless, it's waaay too early to freak... and waaay too small of a sales sample to jump to any conclusions.Nonetheless, it's a new console in the companies' homeland.

I believe Hong Kong is actually within region 3.
Then the Wikipedia is wrongIn theory it should be the same as China but as it was a british colony up till 1997 it still runs on UK power and uses PAL...... however with the PS2 and now with the PS3 Hong Kong is more likely to adopt the Japaniese NTSCJ region meaning it will be region 1 blue ray and work with US games... I just need confirmation... It would be great if it were region 2 but it wont because its too near Japan.....
