PS3 General Discussion

G.T
Is there a list somewhere showing what keyboards and mice are compatible with the PS3?

I'm rather looking forward to this one, but I'm not sure whether it is coming to the UK or not. Might be a tad on the expensive side, too...

Great news about the free 500,000 Casio Royale Blu-Rays too! I'm certainly signing up for one of those, like I got a free Spiderman UMD with my PSP.

I dunno, my wireless keyboard and mouse (logitech) was like $34.99 and it works perfectly without a hitch...couldn't tell ya, I think nearly every USB keyboard and mouse will work perfectly.

Any USB keyboard should work.

Was yours a Bluetooth kb/m? I tried to pair my wireless Mighty Mouse and there wasn't an option for those type of things, only remotes and headsets...

By wireless, do you mean Bluetooth or one of the other kinds that require a USB dongle? If the latter, I assume it will just work (plug and play) without any settings necessary. If its Bluetooth, there is an Accessory Settings option under the Settings tab. From there you press the button to connect on the accessory and the PS3 scans for Bluetooth devices waiting to be paired. Then you enter the four digit code that the accessory came with.

That. It came with no dongle, but then again Apple did leave out Windows from the requirements, and that probably means other operating systems (aside from Mac OSX of course)...

Why don't they make a destruction derby PS3 game?

After playing Motorstorm is there any doubts of awesome it would be?

Do you have a link yet for the 500,000 free Blu-Rays?

Just some tidbits from the rumor mill...well one.

Wipeout PS3 will use an engine that has already been developed, and that we've already seen in one game.

The MotorStorm engine.

Friggin awesome.

Tekken is garbage now, I used to be die hard, but my love for the game died with 5.

VF5 looks, plays, and works much better than Tekken 5: DR, or, apparently, Tekken 6.

Well, we've had that discussion before. I think T5 brought tekken back to the greatness. Tekken 6 looks pretty good. But we won't know anything until at least the arcade game is released.

VF has always looked as good or better then Tekken in my opinion. But I never liked the play mechanics in VF. Especially the gravity. I just don't like the way you float. The same goes for DOA.

Tekken 6 has been said to improve "interaction with environments" and from what I've seen in the video, some weapons.

That's a no go.

I think the shotgun is an added element, an unlockable when customizing charactors. I think if thats true then that adds to the gameplay. Many charactors had weapons they could not use in TDR for psp. If they add a simple combo finisher with weapons then I'm all for it. Graphically you cant get an idea of the detail with ingame fighting, even VF5 looks tame during fights. But it looks like a poor use of shaders all i see is normal mapping and the lighting isn't anything special. appears they are staying with the same art direction unlike VF5 which charactors look plastic like.

I'd still get it though, Add tekken 6 to my list of wanted games. I excpect a full network mode for ghost rankings and that will surely give it an edge on VF5 in that department as VF5 has no online support.

Tekken 6 isn't due out on the PS3 until 2008 I read. The arcade version is out first and I wonder what the differences will or won't be. Will the PS3 version just be a port? Is what we saw indicative of the final game? I don't think we'll get an answer for a few months yet.

A lot can change in a year. But in the video you see sixaxis next to the dev stations so the home version may not be a port but the arcade version will be a stripped version of the game.

I just spent the last 11 hours over at a friends playing VF5....wow.

I paid for my copy early today, and now I Have zero regrets. It's great.

Yep, I am picking it up this Tuesday, can't way to do some shaolin moves with Lei Fei and break some bones with Aoi:sly:
