RossPSN is back up!
darren200cookYep, we're back. Wait.. wheres my Welcome Back Pack?
I wonder if this is another old ps3/new ps3 thing. I'm currently on line right now and so are 4 of my friends who I know have the newer slim ps3. so I'm wondering if this is like the whole clock issue a while back where older ps3 were affected yet the newer slims were not.
darren200cookI have a 160gb Slim and I was locked out of PSN. Its on again now so no need to worry.

I was getting the error. Checked right before the post and it was signed in. As you see others are too. Pic taken about three minutes ago. Note date and time.
Said my code for the two free games (stated in an earlier post) was invalid. You're not alone..
Hmm. It worked for me. Both games are crap though
I realize something recently- I've owned my PlayStation 3 for about a year now. Thanks to everyone who have commented with me on the PS3. I still feel I'm a bit too late to the PS3 party. I somewhat feel like I've missed out on a lot of PS3 titles. But as they say, better late than never. I am somewhat between wanting to buy a PSN card or two to maybe buy some online-only games, or perhaps getting "Little Big Planet 2."
Glad to be part of the PS3 party for at least a year and change now.
I just got a new internet connection, 100Mbps upload and download! The laptops are getting great speeds but the PS3? Less than 1Mbps! I've done some googling and tried a few things but nothing seems to help. I've done DMZ, NAT type 2, and some fiddling with the router settings. It's actually slower than the old connection was.
Any ideas why it's so slow now?
Are you using WiFi or wired connection? I remember reading that the wifi receiver on the PS3 is only a type b and g receiver. If you have a Type n as a base connection on your router, then it will inherently be slow because the PS3 has to convert the signal to something that it recognizes.
As I understand his situation the only thing different was the service. He was already online before.
The ISP may be blocking or slowing video game connections. My ISP recently upgraded as well, but Netflix has suspicious connection issues nearly every night around the time prime time shows come on. Nothing else acts up. I have an unfounded suspicion that as a cable company and ISP it is in their interest to disrupt Netflix streams.
It could be some kind of "fair use policy" So his internet will be slowed if he uses loads or at peak times.
