same error / problem here too, located in New Zealand.
I've had this same problem, the worst part about it is that i cant play Heavy rain & my heavy rain trophies i earned ( 72%) are gone
I got signed out three times in about an hour yesterday night at about 20.00, I guess something was starting to go wrong then. My PS3 is now displaying the wrong date and changing it back doesn't get the PSN working. Why is only the 60gb effected, what has Sony changed in the slim? There are obviously not the same or they would have the same problem.
Well all of the original (fat) PS3s is what I really meant. My question still stands though, what did they change in the slim that makes it unaffected and was the possibility of this happening the reason for it?
Hmmm Luckily I was watching Olympic Ice Hockey last night and didnt play my PS3 at all.... Guess I'll wait til this blows over... sounds bad...
When my Playstation signed out for the third time I decided to watch the Olympic Ice Hockey too. Lets hope Sony can fix it soon and then tell us why this happened.
Agreed... I dont want to live in fear that if I turn on my PS3 in the next few days it will explode... The hockey was great though wasnt it?
I can't believe that I can't play sinlge player in most of the games I own. I think the whole trophy thing is a waste of time in the first place. The XBox 360 keeps looking better.
I bet this is Sony's biggest mistake in the video gaming industry.
The XBox 360 keeps looking better.
Which one, your third or fourth?
If GT5 had just come out and........
I'm more inclined to think he's drinking and with every passing drink the X-Box looks better. I'm sure Sony will have a fix soon, in the mean time it is an annoyance though, not the end of the world. If GT5 had just come out and this stopped us from playing it for a few days, I imagine we'd be a lot more angry though.
Well Ultimate Team has just come out for FIFA 10 and now I can't play it, infact I can't play FIFA full stop. While I am not exactly angry, I am annoyed.
Actually, it's a bit more complex, but still no rocket science.Well, you may not know this, but you can use a flash drive to upgrade the firmware on a PS3.
On the Blu-Ray note, I watched a movie with no issue and then fiddled with some Demos I had downloaded.
I still find the leap year thing unlikely, as the math check for that is relatively straight forward. Divide by 4, pretty simple.
Why? The problem is most likely with PSN, not your hardware. Or do you think your PS3 somehow had its soft/hardware changed automagically? Even if it is in fact a hardware issue that was always present inside certain models, you're best off doing nothing until Sony comes with an official statement about the source of the problem.Did somebody try System restore or other recovery funktions???
Actually, it's a bit more complex, but still no rocket science.
Also, I doubt anyones trophies are really gone, they probably just don't appear because they can't be synchronized. I'm pretty sure they will be back once you are able to connect and resynchronize again.
BTW, I played Heavy Rain all evening yesterday and I had no problem at all (80GB PS3 fatty).
...Just be prepared to have to filter through a bunch of mis-information and nonconstructive comments, as it is an open forum abused by many trolls. *sigh*
