PS3 PSN login error

I can confirm that it is indeed a problem exclusive to the fat, my slim is displaying the correct date and time and I can sign into PSN.

I guess this is Sony's way of telling you to "upgrade" to a slim

I got signed out three times in about an hour yesterday night at about 20.00, I guess something was starting to go wrong then. My PS3 is now displaying the wrong date and changing it back doesn't get the PSN working. Why is only the 60gb effected, what has Sony changed in the slim? There are obviously not the same or they would have the same problem.

It isnt only the 60 gig, it is all of the old model ones.

EDIT: Oh great, my Modern Warfare 2 trophies are all gone, hopefully they get restored.

Well all of the original (fat) PS3s is what I really meant. My question still stands though, what did they change in the slim that makes it unaffected and was the possibility of this happening the reason for it?

I think it doesn't only affect 60GB models, but also the later 40GB ones, 'cause mine is a '07 60GB and my friend's is a '08 40GB.

Same issue here, ah well that sucks... Hopefully they get it fixed soon.

That is a brilliant question and I am completely baffled, just what happened here?

It happened to me yesterday. I went on to play Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, then when I turned it on, my theme is gone and I couldn't log in either. Man, Sony is eating dirt out from their Foster City office. I bet this is Sony's biggest mistake in the video gaming industry.

Hmmm Luckily I was watching Olympic Ice Hockey last night and didnt play my PS3 at all.... Guess I'll wait til this blows over... sounds bad...

When my Playstation signed out for the third time I decided to watch the Olympic Ice Hockey too. Lets hope Sony can fix it soon and then tell us why this happened.

Agreed... I dont want to live in fear that if I turn on my PS3 in the next few days it will explode...  The hockey was great though wasnt it? ;)

I reckon this could take days to fix, if at all. People who are not online are reporting having the problem.:nervous: There must be a conflict with the firmware and something that is present in the fats but not in the slims. :odd: The Hockey was good, I can only imagine how the fans of both teams must of felt.

Got the error too.

Luckily I don't use it much these days.

I can't believe that I can't play sinlge player in most of the games I own. I think the whole trophy thing is a waste of time in the first place. The XBox 360 keeps looking better.

I just removed my ethernet and Uncharted 2 loads up fine. Just unplug ethernet or disable the wireless. Most PS3 games don't require an internet connection in order to play. This isn't Ubisofts DRM nonsense that they use on PC games. I played many PS3 games offline. The only one I can think of where you need a connection is the download version of GT5P.

Are you saying that by turning it on I've screwed some things? Nice job Sony.

I also can't play NBA Live 2010 regardless of whether my PS3 is online or not (obviously not because it can't get online) thanks to TXT_PS3TROPHY_ERROR.

But my dynamic theme is working fine.

Oh no. A temporary glitch, fixable by a software update no doubt to be released in the next couple of days, means you can't play some games briefly (and I'm playing Fallout 3 right now, offline, on my launch EU 60GB).

What a catastrophe.

The XBox 360 keeps looking better.

Which one, your third or fourth?

Registration of the trophy information could not be completed the game will quit, or other messages meaning the same thing appear meaning you can't even play some games offline, this is really bad.

Edit :- Out of ten games tested six will work and four won't, all trophyless games should work fine so I haven't tested them.

I'm more inclined to think he's drinking and with every passing drink the X-Box looks better.;) I'm sure Sony will have a fix soon, in the mean time it is an annoyance though, not the end of the world. If GT5 had just come out and this stopped us from playing it for a few days, I imagine we'd be a lot more angry though.

Well Ultimate Team has just come out for FIFA 10 and now I can't play it, infact I can't play FIFA full stop. While I am not exactly angry, I am annoyed.:irked:

Well I was getting really close to the All-Star Weekend.

Hi. Guys
Thousands our maybe even millions effected, accourding to, twitter/pcworld.com/www.inentertainment.co.uk.

I have a older virsion ps3, just gives me 8001050F.

I hope it's sorted out soon..

At Monday 3pm Makiko Noda Said that sony corpuration still had no answer to were the problem lie's

Well, you may not know this, but you can use a flash drive to upgrade the firmware on a PS3.

On the Blu-Ray note, I watched a movie with no issue and then fiddled with some Demos I had downloaded.

I still find the leap year thing unlikely, as the math check for that is relatively straight forward. Divide by 4, pretty simple.
Actually, it's a bit more complex, but still no rocket science. :)

Also, I doubt anyones trophies are really gone, they probably just don't appear because they can't be synchronized. I'm pretty sure they will be back once you are able to connect and resynchronize again.

BTW, I played Heavy Rain all evening yesterday and I had no problem at all (80GB PS3 fatty).

Did somebody try System restore or other recovery funktions???
Why? The problem is most likely with PSN, not your hardware. Or do you think your PS3 somehow had its soft/hardware changed automagically? Even if it is in fact a hardware issue that was always present inside certain models, you're best off doing nothing until Sony comes with an official statement about the source of the problem.

I do hope that's the case. :)
I was also playing Heavy Rain last night before I slept, and that's quite a shock to me when seeing that error message popping up on screen today (Registration of the trophy information could not be completed. The game will quit). It's just an offline game, right? How dare it not letting me play the game without internet connection?

And I'm still wondering how the error comes out without connecting to the internet... and the date and time went all the way back to 1/1/2000. hmm.. how mysterious.

Is everyone's trophies gone? IIRC I have trophies from 3 games, and 2 of those game's trophies were still on my PS3.

Mine are not, but until we know the definitive source of the problem, I wouldn't recommend anyone synchronizing or connecting to the internet.

...Just be prepared to have to filter through a bunch of mis-information and nonconstructive comments, as it is an open forum abused by many trolls. *sigh*

Hmmm...just like almost every other forum on the Web, sans an active moderator staff like GTP, GTX, etc.
