Unfortunately the mini game with the 'camp' and such sucks! It's a decent game online, but the ability to buy armour and such on the fly is also a bit rubbish and like a kill streak it makes the team already win win by more and that's not clever. The reward for success should be the satisfaction, XP and bragging rights, not the ability to kick a team while they're down. In addition if someone quits mid game their spot never gets filled so whichever team remains disadvantaged for the entire round which in a 4v4 is a huge problem.

That said it didn't ruin my experience, the only thing that really annoyed me was winning every single match and then getting disconnected (along with my friend) and my entire camp going hungry/unhealthy effectively meaning I could get set back to square 1 (literally) if people rage quit and shutdown without quitting properly.

On the flip side the combat is tactical, tense and unforgiving providing some excellent moments and close matches. At it's best the multiplayer is very good, but those small flaws would stop me being invested over time.

The single player however is beyond anything else this year to me and one of the best not just of the generation but for me, all time. The story telling is just on a completely different scale, though Bioshock Infinite had an incredible story I felt it was somewhat overwritten and poorly told as you could miss incredibly vital details by not running around every inch of every area.

Immersive, emotional, unforgettable. A true must have for PS3 owners.

I agree with you. By saying it wasn't bad, I was referring to the intensity and stealth of online gameplay which is very gripping at times and I quite like. That said, like you stated, it does have a decent amount of flaws. Not only rage quit, It happens even if you get disconnected due to a bad connection. Happened to me twice and I went from a clan of 50 to 17 or so. WAs pissing off really.

But what I find is that Survivor is much much more entertaining that Supply Raid. Tried it out and got hooked ever since. HAven't gone back to supply raid.

Started my "survivor" single player playthrough today. Took a couple of days break after finishing my first play through on hard hoping I'd forget about the awesome experience I had, just so that I could be in awe and suprised again on my second playthrough. Well I haven't forgotten, and i'm still in awe. :D What. A. Game

It really depends on how you play the game. I could barely have made it in under 13 hours, but easily in over 16 hours if I had wanted to.
Why would anyone rush through a game like this though? It's a damn shame really, if you ask me. Especially the first time you play it through.

I have to ask. How did you do that? I admit I was slow with my 22 hours, but under 13, really?

I don't know really, I thought it took me way longer than that since I always searched for collectibles and supplies and such. I was playing on normal also.

I finished on normal and took about 22 hours. I took my time though. I walked almost every where no running. I didnt use the listen option so it would take a while to see how the bad guys where behaving to get threw with stealth. This is probably the slowest pace ive ever played a game and loved it. I walked every where to take in the sites and watch the storms.

Great:drool: What difficulty level would you suggest im thinking 1 below this survival thing I keep reading about?💡

I'm presuming it's your first playthrough so, you won't have Survival mode unlocked anyway. Though I'd suggest Hard, which is indeed 1 below Survival :)

Opted for that on my first playthrough, and had an immense amount of fun. Was quite challenging in quite a few bits. A game like this, you gotta wanna have to play it on hard, and with the volume on max, in the dark, lol.

Just like many people here, I walked around alot, took in the sights, took my own sweet time. I prefer stealth infact. Took me around 27 hours to complete.

PLaying on survival now and I must say guys,, it's a treat. Really have to make choices sometimes to fight or flee, when to use items and ammo. Loving it. And oh yea, I'm still not rushing through it. lol. playing it as if it's my first go all over again.

If anyone was searching for the tune they used in their E3 2013 launch trailer, here it is:
Been searching for it forever:

Thanks Rambo Hard it is then:tup: my copy is due early nextweek breath is baited.:)

Did anyone else really enjoy playing
as Ellie?
Yep
I liked the fact that being smaller, you could hide more effectively and the whole approach dynamic was different - she couldn't brawl as effectively, which you'd expect - but boy was she vicious with that switch-blade :)

^That so much, this dude is plain face palm.

On the Page likeness, well Ellie also resembles a lot to the actress who actually played her.

It's like saying Katy Perry is a copy of Zoey deschanel... Both actresses look alike... so what...

As much as I love the game, I really dispise the trophies. Just had to pass a locked door on Surival, because I didn't have any Shive to unlock it... Dispite me being very careful to save every single shiv I come by/craft for those occasions. All I needed was 1/4 of tape.

I don't think Ellie looks THAT much like Ellen Page, there are some vague similarities but certainly not enough to warrant any major complaints/retorts.

In other news I am on NG+ survivor difficulty now, my 4th playthrough of the game :), I could just play The Last Of Us forever :P . I am flying through atm, over halfway and I have 4.5 hours on the clock, I have done my super serious playthroughs, now it's a classic speedy run . I know the game so well now I have some really good strategies for a few rough spots and I am literally reciting heaps of the dialogue as it happens :). Love this game.

If you are worried, use the shiv trick/glitch to craft 3 when you get the chance. In case you're not aware, the trick is to have a crafted melee weapon, swap it for a melee weapon laying on the ground, and then pick up your crafted melee weapon again. Doing that should give you enough materials so you can craft a shiv, and just do it 4 times (3 times for 3 shivs + 1 more time so you have the materials to craft another right away once you use one).

Thanks for the tip, but I never use glitches/bugs, as it is foul play to me. In any case, I really shouldn't have to resort to glitches to accomplish a goal set by the game designers. Just a bit of bad game design.

Another thing I'm curious about is whether it's possible to unlock the trophy for fully upgrading Joel's skills on Survival difficulty, as the "listen" ability is disabled on that difficulty?

I had a similar issue on my survivor run, I couldn't get enough tape (none in 3 chapters !) and had to miss 3 shiv doors in a row :( . I just went to chapter select afterward and did all 3 separately, your stats should save :) , I did the same with a conversation I missed and a few artifacts too. It is good to get your collectible run out of the way before NG+ so you can just speed through like I am currently doing .

I am not sure about the listening upgrade, but I am intending to grab it by going onto NG++ with an easier difficulty, if the trophy doesn't pop without it that is .

So you can get the missing conversations, collectibles in chapter select?

Yes you can, I have no idea how it works, but it seems if you are playing the singleplayer and go to chapter select (without loading a different save) you can just get your missing shiv doors/conversations and it will add them to your statistics. Just remember that although conversations save instantly, shiv doors don't until you have reached the next save point after unlocking them.
