I just got around to finishing it last night myself, too. Wow.

The Last of Us. The Last of Us was epic and much more. I can't describe how many different emotions this brought up. It's so brilliant, I was engulfed the entire time.

I loved the ending. I was so nervous when I was fighting my way to Ellie, finding the recorders and hearing that the only way to possibly find a vaccine would end up with her dead. It wasn't just fighting within the game, I was fighting with my mind. I felt like I hated every enemy I came across, simply for protecting the surgery from going ahead. I wanted to reach her so bad.

I'm glad Joel did what he did. How could he live with himself if he hadn't saved her? They created such a bond throughout the year they were together and to throw all of that away, in a world that, even with a vaccine - what would the likelihood be that it would be successful and the world would return to normal. It would never return to normal, not after all that's happened.

It's a cruel world, and Ellie knows this. I think she accepted what Joel did (and is aware that he's not being truthful with her), but accepted it, as she knows, that not everyone will abandon her now. She's finally found someone that will stick by her side, no matter what.

The Last of Us truly is a wonderful story of art. No less.

Exactly what I thought when I finished it 👍, I love this game

During an 'Ask Me Anything' on Reddit Bruce Straley, game director of The Last of Us, may have dropped a hint that the single player DLC may be based on Ish.

Here's the post:

Can you give us ANY information on the upcoming dlc for The Last Of Us?
Also, I would also like to say that The Last Of Us is easily the best gaming experience I've ever had in a game ever, I just want to say thank you for letting me experience something that I will most likely remember for a very long time.

Those subtle references weren't so hard to pick apart then.

I can't be the only one who wanted to know what happened to Ish after reading those sewer notes? If this is what we're going to find out soon, then I'm all for it.

Not the only one. We talked a lot about Ish and the apparent quality of life created in the sewers as we played through that scene. Personally I would enjoy DLC following Ish.

Edit: started a new game on survivor today. Decided to do it legitimate rather than the method to get get survivor+ posted earlier. Any thoughts on how much more difficult survivor is than hard?

I haven't tried the game on hard but I found survivor a very fun challenge. You don't have Joel's super-power hearing and there are a lot less supplies to scavenge but I never found myself overly frustrated. It also made me rethink tactics I'd used in my first play through. Highly recommend it!
I've played through twice now on survivor - may go for a third. I'd like to take a break but none of my other games are really holding my interest like this one... :)

So there is no listen mode in survivor? I noticed that but couldn't remember if it was something that came after a certain point. Should make it interesting as I did rely on it a lot to stealth kill on my original play through.

Except listening mode everything else is in there. You can upgrade Joel by supplements and upgrade weapons. But the most important thing is, do not use Shives on Clickers ! use them only on Doors that are locked. This change is forced by lack of supplies you can find though entire game.

Playing without listen mode is not that Hard at all, you can actually turn volume Up in your TV or surround System and observe enemies from around the corner. Survivor is not that Hard at all, there are many places where you can actually skip fight, throw a bottle to distract enemies, use bricks to kill enemies saving bullets and arrows. And use Bow as your main weapon cause you can most of the times retrieve arrow if your shot was accurate.

Survivor + is just easier way of survivor.

Just finished it - what a great game. The gameplay was fantastic, but the character development and story were just so much better than any other video game I've played.

It still feels pretty surreal that it's all over now. I haven't been on since I completed my first play-through of the adventure as I've been quite happy to sit and think about it and talk to one of my friends who too completed it not long before I did. He was just as astonished as I was. It certainly lived up to my expectations and then exceeded them.

I think I'll either begin my Survivor play-through next, or collect all of the items on a lower difficulty first. What did you guys do? And also, what segment of the game would you say was your favourite part to play - one that really stood out. For me personally it would be the Winter stage of the game. and in particular, the opening scene where you play as Ellie.

Immediately after I finished my first playthrough, I just wanted to experience it all over again. No game has ever made me feel that way. I could not let Joel and Ellie go as the credits were rolling. No game has matched the pacing and seamless blend of gameplay and cinematics as well as TLOU did.

Winter was definitely my favorite season as well. The ending of that season alone made it for me. It was haunting, chilling, and beautiful all at the same time.

I suggest starting your Survivor run while obtaining the collectables along the way. If you started on Hard and sparingly used listen mode (I turned it off), it's really not that difficult IMO. But players on Easy or Normal can expect a very noticeable difficulty jump. Best advice I can give is to simply sneak your way through the game. Don't even dare fire a shot or throw an explosive unless it is absolutely necessary. Use your resources WISELY. As an MGS veteran (still my favorite series of all time), I felt I adapted to the demands of Survivor quite easily.

I'm eagerly awaiting the DLC so I can finally start my Survivor+ run and get that lovely platinum. What a masterpiece this game was. :D

Just finished the game. Really fantastic game, best game I have played in a long time. The story is well executed and leaves you thinking. I want to play it through on survivor, but am wondering what the plus modes are all about?

So, the online is truly a POS.

This just happened to me. Eight players, four of those players have over 100 weeks of experience, the other four have each less than 10 weeks. How come the players that played over 3000 matches combined are teamed up together against people who just got into the online mode? I mean seriously wtf. It wasn't even a one time thing. Players with more experience get consistently teamed up together.

Maybe because they are friends? I know what you mean, it was always like this for me too

That's the reason ND added 'No Party' playlists. If you run into too many parties then try it out. I haven't tried it myself though. I'd probably get a crappy connection since there isn't a large player base in ANZ.

That's why i hate on line in this game. Should stay single player, with some DLC adventures added later telling some other unknown people stories, or known like Joel brother.

I know players would love it much better.

Why did you hate the MP so much, ussr? I think it's really fun and intense compared to a lot of the run-of-the-mill shooters out there.

I agree on both: while the multiplayer is fun, when there are two even teams pushing for the win, the matchmaking just sucks badly, which makes the experience just unbearable. I'll just be done with it after i get the platinum and never come back to it.

Yes it has matchmaking problems but it's amazing, when you learn how to be good it's very tense there's nothing like it in any online game

No, some would love that. Others, like me, love both the multiplayer and single player and want to see both supported like they currently plan.

As for the room being unbalanced. It does seem to be an issue but as pointed out it may have been a party. I would also point out time played and skill level aren't directly related. I've played against some dumb or plain bad high ranked people. I don't even look at the rank when I play.

I've found when you specify that you want "non party" games only, the matches are more fair.

I like the sound of that. I loved being able to sneak my way through certain situations, coming out the other end without letting anyone know of my presence was such a good feeling. Is this possible in most encounters, though? I found that a lot of the time, I had to kill enemies simply to be able to move forward at all.

Good luck and have fun! :D:tup:

The '+MODE' for each difficulty is the ability to start another play through on that difficulty, whilst keeping all of your upgrades from the previous play through. So, for example, if you've upgraded the Crossbow entirely, once you find it, it will already be fully upgraded.

Still not played mp, about 85% of the way through on survivor so I wanna do that and + before I finally try mp

I'm in the same boat. I want to completely complete single player before I play multiplayer. Initially, I was really hoping that TLOU was going to be a SP Only game and that would have made me very happy, as I don't really like the idea of collecting online related trophies. But, after hearing so many positive things about the MP, I'd be quite happy to play it anyway and then if I'm ever tired of it, I can always return to the beautiful story.
