DLC for single players is the reason why i still have a copy of this game :) I'm not really interested in multiplayer. I've already make a peace with the thought i'm not going to achieve platinum trophy because on line once :ouch:

Same but at the moment I'm just collecting all of the Collectibles/Fireflies/Shiv Doors in the Single-Player Mode.

Haven't touched the multiplayer myself though I hear it's pretty good. I've played through a couple of times now collecting everything & playing on survivor difficulty, etc. I've found with each playthrough, though...

...that I side more and more with Joel and his decision at the end. I don't think it's as selfish as some people have taken it, anyway. After the hell they'd been through and all the terrible non-infected humans they met, what of humanity was worth saving if not people like Ellie? As destroyed as that world is, I can still believe small pockets of humanity would survive and adapt even without a vaccine. And that vaccine was never 100% sure thing.
Joel rediscovered life and beauty and purpose in the world through Ellie's eyes. In the game it was almost always because of the beauty of the natural world around them reclaiming the crumbling cities of man. Ellie is tied thematically to nature and wildlife throughout the game, all of which is the hope, the light, the good. Most of the humans they come across are extremely dangerous to downright sadistic and murderous. The cities are likewise dangerous, forbidding places. Thus the dark, the bad. If a vaccine had been manufactured, who do you think would get it? Mostly the bad guys would be my bet. Ellie deserves to live.

This ending might be stretched through next parts of Last of us. I feel it.

I really want to start the campaign again but I can't bring myself to play the Prologue. :nervous:

I completely agree with you on the ending. It was still unexpected but it made sense at the same time.

The multiplayer can be a lot of fun. Recently I've been playing it with a friend and it's a ton of fun. Haven't tried survivors mode yet but supply raid is a lot of fun.

I want to play it again but until

tess dies
I didn't think all that much of the game. It was good, but wasn't the 10/10 game everyone was raving about.

Hey everyone,

So played the game for a couple of hours and yes it's a very good game. There are however some things that didn't feel quite right.

For example, it seemed a bit odd to me that they talk/run/jump/move things around completely normally once they're somewhere alone. It's not like they're in a world infested by creatures that are attracted by the slightest noise or anything.

Also, a lot of sections in the game felt very one-dimensional. There are no alternative routes, no choices you can take. I thought it was a real shame because they've done the hard part (the general atmosphere and the technical side of the game) and adding some more liberty would have been easy in comparison.

The online is very weak. It's seriously bad for a 60€ game. There will be DLC and I will of course not buy it (and I'll repeat that anyone purchasing DLC is an idiot - I can sign a written statement if needed). This is why I won't be playing the game in only a couple of weeks. For comparison, I play(ed) GT5 and Killzone 2 for years.

Anyway, it was a really good game. The tense moments in the game were really awesome, the storyline was okay too, etc. Would easily recommend.

While I agree, I think it's for good reason. Linear levels keep the pace up. Naughty Dog are really into their cinematics so they can't let it go too long without some action. Allowing free-roam or even semi-free-roam wouldn't fit the style of the game, in my humble opinion. It also keeps the story neat and tidy. There's no large gaps between story progression areas.

Compare it with something like GTA or Far Cry. They take a lot more time because there's so much more sidetracking to do once you're left to your own devices.

It's absolutely killing me not reading any of the other posts in here!

I still haven't completed it but I'm nearly there, got a few hours in tonight and it was so much fun as always. My heart rate must have been elevated the entire time!

First of all was...

The escape from the city and off the bridge... I was of-course spotted after taking out like, one enemy. I was pretty annoyed when Henry and Sam ditched me, not knowing that they'd eventually save me from drowning... Ok, I'll forgive you guys this time.

...and then...

The Sewers! This part was just insanely tense. There were so many infected running about and I knew, I just knew that the kids would eventually make an appearance some way through them. They couldn't have all 'not suffered', as it said on the floor of the room. One thing I did appreciate was how much ammunition there was lying around - and supplies. But ofcourse... it was all needed for the very end when you escape. Couldn't have put that warning on the other side, huh?

...and to top it all off...

The section where you fight your way to the sniper and then are ambushed by the guys from the city. That was a really fun part to me, trying to reach the end of the street, in and out of houses, avoiding the shots and taking out the guys on the ground. I was shocked at how many infected came running through the street after - which inevitably ended in Sam being bitten. :(

The very end of the scene, that was deep. I did not expect what Henry did, to happen. The black screen accompanied by the music afterwards was very much one of the greatest 'Oh My God' moments so far.

I can't wait to get back to this another day. 👍

Naughty Dog acknowledges censoring The Last of Us’ multiplayer in EU/UK versions.

Dual Shockers
In the European version there’s no sign of dismemberment on survivors (while they can lose head and limbs in the North American version of the game), and there’s also a lot less blood. Naughty Dog never officially acknowledged the cuts, until now.

The Community Manager known on the official forums as EvangM finally responded to an user, admitting that the European version of the game has indeed been censored, as you can see in the screencap below.

Oh what, I didn't even I know it was possible to dismember people on this game. Can't they just do what the WWE Games do, give the option of blood (dismembering), that way you go and turn it on or off depending on user preference. The games already an 18+ removing it isn't going to change anything.

Its basically like Twisted Metal, all of the cutscenes in Twisted Metal Black were cut out of the UK release, similar story for the 2012 Twisted Metal, albeit some cutscenes remained.

That's strange. It isn't like they made one version for whole Europe and made it censored only because of Germany. I don't see the logic behind this.

Also finished my Firefly journey with population of 27. Looking forward to the Hunter part, because my past online experience gave me impression of hunters always being better organised, no matter how well we played. I think my W/L ratio was like 1/3 and i felt like this. :P

Online isn't actually separated by hunters versus fireflies. Teams are mixed with people from both sides. If you are doing the storyline as a firefly then all your teammates will appear to you as fireflys and enemies as hunters no matter the storyline they are doing. Your teammate may be a hunter and you will appear as a hunter to him and enemies as fireflies.

Yeah, if your team doesn't work together and communicate it can be an exercise in frustration.

Send me an invite if you like. I play with a friend and at times others from friends list. Anyone else playing multiplayer can send an invite also.

Just picked up the game yesterday, loving it so far. Those clickers are bloody annoying though!

Ive just finished it on "Hard" your in for one hell of a ride man! Btw can anyone tell me why "Survivor" mode isn't now available only "Hard Plus??" I think it said. Im guessing its because I didn't find all the pendants or something.:dopey:

Go down and start a new game, you'll find survivor. And if you want to go for a Survivor+ immediately, there's a workaround for it

Taken from ps3trophies.org

To get the game thinking you're on a Survivor+ run without having to finish the game once through Survivor difficulty, do the following:
Delete this game's "Game Data" in the XMB (in case future patches voids this)
Start a New Game+
Complete Chapter 1 of the game, Hometown
As soon as Chapter 2 begins (20 Years Later), pause the game and save. Exit to the main menu
Choose Chapter Select and select the first chapter "Hometown"
Notice you can now select Survivor difficulty? Select it and play the game from this point on to the end.

With the exception of your weapons (which you will have to pick up again), you will retain all of your upgrades from your first playthrough. Meaning any weapon upgrades you've made with upgrade parts or supplements used to increase Joel's survival skills, will carry over. Completing your second playthrough using this method will also earn you this trophy, as well as all the difficulty trophies under it (meaning all the regular and New Game+ trophies).

Just finished the story tonight. I have to say I absolutely loved the game. It does such an amazing job of growing you attached to the characters unlike any game I've played. I think it competes with a great book in that regard. Immediately after finishing I felt completely conflicted. I understood the decisions made but didn't completely agree with them. What was cool about it though was it lead to a 30 minute discussion with my wife about it. Like I said at first I understood but it felt wrong in my gut but after talking about it I accepted it.

Spoilers about the ending...
I agreed with Joel preventing the surgery but I do wish she was given a choice in the matter. She seemed to accept that she may die for a vaccine. That was the sense I had when she said 'let's do this' or something similar towards the end of the game.

What bothered me was the lie. I know Joel wants to protect Ellie, but in the end it may be what kills their relationship. I think it would have bothered her but she would accept his reason for saving her. But now? She was looking for honesty and he stared straight at her and lied. Can she trust him again? How will she feel after finding out he killed Marlene?

I'm ok with not finding the vaccine through Ellie because in my mind it's not the right thing to do, sacrifice one to save the many. But in my opinion humanity is doing a mighty fine job of wiping itself out with people raiding and killing. Sure the virus caused the pandemic, but I feel like human instincts killed more than virus. That's my interpretation of their world anyways.

Alternate ending of the game.

P.S: I tried to hide the picture but it wouldn't work.
