I find myself enjoying the second playthrough even more than the first. Especially the first couple of hours, which seemed to drag on a bit until you reach Lincoln. Knowing what comes next has helped me plan out each encounter and how to approach them without wasting as many items.

Very interesting vid from vsauce.

Without reading too much about the infection before picking up the game, I assumed that at some point in the game they'd touch upon some sort of fungal experimentation that may have occurred which then led to mutated spores escaping containment.

But, seeing as it wasn't mentioned how it came to infect the human populace all of a sudden, we could speculate that it was either through natural causes, or the work of biological research. The former being a somewhat scarier prospect.

I thought some would enjoy this:

Soundtrack is good, one of them (All Gone) almost made me teary eyed. :scared:

Had a great multiplayer session with Cragapple along with successfully completing my first 100% population risk mission. One Supply Raid match saw me in a 1v1. Neither me nor the enemy Hunter wanted to move much so it turned into a stalemate that lasted almost 90 seconds before I was able to get my shots on him. I had a huge grin on after that game :D

Thanks for posting. I'm a sucker for soundtracks, whether games or movies, & it came as no surprise to see such fitting music to an emotion-filled game.

I quite like the opening guitar in The Choice. Wish I could find the tracks that cue when Joel reunites with Ellie after David, & when Joel carries Ellie towards the end (I want to say this is All Gone (No Escape) though). 2 very powerful tracks in the game.
Edit* Yep, appears so.

He'd totally trade Ellie for the Resi 4 Merchant.

Having played it through to the end again, I think when it comes to combining music with a touching scenario, Vanishing Grace pretty much nails it too.

EDIT: Turns out I encountered a certain glitch during my first playthrough. Where the tunnel in Salt Lake City was devoid of almost all the infected enemies you'd normally come across, apart from a couple of runners in the corridor on the right side of the tunnel. I only realised that it was meant to be filled with bloaters and whatnot after I watched a playthrough video earlier. I did get the feeling that the tunnel was somewhat emptier than it should have been too.

While I was spared one of the toughest sections of the game the first time, I'm also kind of thankful that I had to fight way through there the second time though because it brought a 'new' challenge to the game that I should have experience initially.

Played a game with a Naughty Dog employee last night. In match he had a red paw next to his name and he had completed 11 or 12 successful campaigns because he had I think 144 weeks and so many stars and slashes you couldn't even read or understand it. He asked if we had any suggestions for the developers and my buddy thought he was lying so he backed out. The guy dominated the round though.

I encountere this too, on my second playthrough. The only thing that I can think that I did differently was to equip Ellie with one of the ND T-shirts which reverts the game back to the last save point: ie: leaving the quarantine zone before the tunnel through the bus window.

When they announced the season pass, they said one of the DLC's would be single player. So it is going to happen.
Yeah you're right, I just saw it on the naughtydog site. I could swear they said it's not planned to make SP DLCs...

Well then, hopefully it doesn't affect the actual story in a bad way.

Yeah, it's going to be interesting to see what they'll do with it. Hopefully, it involves both Joel and Ellie. I could imagine it taking place in the months before arriving at Wyoming.

Or Salt Lake City.

Meh, at the end it's something between the prologue and summer (first part). There's more than just a few months in between.

I'm not really interested in the multiplayer DLCs, but I'll definitely buy the SP one.

If it does involve those two, then I can imagine there being DLC that bridges most of the gap between the events of the University and Lakeside Resort. That alone should cover a couple of months, plus it should shed some light on how Ellie helped Joel to survive that period.

If not, then maybe it could focus on Tommy after he parted with Joel, and how he eventually came to settle at the power station.

I had the same glitch. I thought it strange when the music came on even though there weren't any bad guys around and when you enter that side chamber and Ellie says there are so many of them when there were only three in that passage.

I love how thankful this game makes me for bullets. I feel Survival Horror has gone too far the way of guns-aplenty. This is awesome.

ZombieU has very little ammunition considering that for a portion of the game you are moving through a few military checkpoints and encounter a lot of zombified soldiers all around the place.

I think Dying Light out next year will have a limited situation regarding ammunition too - definitely the way to go if it's survival horror.

Survivor is all about not shooting enemies but killing them or even better avoiding them.

And Bow is your best friend! Like seriously the Bow is the thing you will love in survivor :sly:

Bought the game last weekend and I'm really enjoying it. The ambiance is great. Playing on normal and only died a couple of times because I was careless or didn't know how to handle certain enemies.

Great production values!

I believe the music was part of the reason why I felt there was something amiss. While Ellie commenting on the number of infected in the corridor didn't seem odd to me. Probably because I thought there may have been more that two or three enemies further down that were out of my hearing range.

Whether it ties in or not is unknown, though I expect to in some form or fashion. But the goal of the SP DLC is to explore other characters in the world. They've already said if they come back to Joel & Ellie, they want to do something meaningful with them in a sequel, not a DLC.

Whoever these other characters are is a mystery, even to NaughtyDog as they've been talking as if the DLC is still in the early stages of development.

Just lost all interest in the DLC...

Hmmm me not. There must be bunch of interesting characters in this game we even might not knew about. No one said it has to be characters we meet along the way.

Had a perfect team match on Checkpoint last night: 20 lives remaining at the end of the round. It was my buddy, me, and two random guys who play together with all four using mics. Only two teammates were downed but both revived immediately. It didn't happen the way I'd prefer because the entire other team quit when down to their final life but we controlled the entire round. Very cool experience.

DLC for single players is the reason why i still have a copy of this game :) I'm not really interested in multiplayer. I've already make a peace with the thought i'm not going to achieve platinum trophy because on line once :ouch:
