Honestly on a budget the Driving Force GT is a good option.

The G27 would be the next step up. As well next step in price. You get a banger with it though. Not having a desk to clamp too kinda makes me think the shifter isn't priority or be used.

So my suggestion would be DFGT. there are a few slick solutions for mounting and what not on GTP here.

I always wondered why people with wheel stand Pro's don't fasten them to a base board of say 1/2" plywood. Then make a 2x2 frame that a chair sits in and all four legs are pocketed in the frames corners. Chair won't move away from stand. Stand fastened won't move away from chair. You basically should have a solid rig at this point. Remove chair. Fold down and slide wood and stand away.

I'll draw a lil pic in a bit to help visualize that idea.

Edit:

Pedals could easily fasten to wood base. As well that base can be carpeted with indoor outdoor at low price. Paint it. Use reg carpet. Speaker box carpet. LoL

I'm actually planning on doing something like that but using an old race seat mounted on the base. Regardless, the wsp is very stable and rarely moves out of position.

That reminds me, I'm going to ask for a wheel for my birthday :D

That is 5 months off though unfortunately :indiff:

Cheers for the reply Owens! I would like the option of shifters, but if it means paying an extra wodd, ill stick with a gear stick! Only downside is the DFGT's gear stick is on the right, when I learnt to drive with it being on the left, but you get what you pay for I guess.

Is it wise buying it off eBay? I got a DFGT for my 13th/14th birthday for GT5P and it came broke, either that or it wasn't set up right and my dad got a refund from it.

Cheers for the diagram too. Looks like it'll save a hefty amount of cash. Have been looking at stands to buy and they seem to be around £80 . Will speak to the father later about putting one together as well I wouldn't trust myself, absolutely suck at making things and im not being dramatic..

Wish i'd thought of that earlier (most obvious thing to do also..) except its a little late now.. already got a trip to Amsterdam with a few friends booked for my 18th in 2 months :sly:

The shifter side of the G27 doesn't have to be hooked up.

However if you did a wooden chair. Surely with some wood and screws you could create a mount.

Even the PVC stuff is cool. Possible implement some to make shifter mount.

This thread seems pretty dead.. what's going on?!

Anyway, will hope to get a room up tonight, need to get some practice in for Rome as I've barely ran it in any car

Off topic though, I'm thinking of investing in a wheel and what not. Will stay away from it if it'll take a chunk out my wallet though. Can anybody give me some advice on what I could go for? Bare in mind I don't have a desk to attach a wheel too, so I think i'd have to buy a stand and what not!

DFGT and Wheel Stand Pro.

If space is a problem and it needs to be cheap, I can't think of a better combo.

^^^ That is a great idea, it would stop the stand from hopping every time I try drifting (had to turn the FFB down to 4 or I would move the stand 3 feet before the next corner)

I have a huge pile of new wood I can use so this may soon have my time for a couple hours 👍

I'm going to be looking to qualify soon to motivate lazy qualifiers if anyone is around:

outlaw's room now. Thanks guys 👍

Sorry I've been absent today guys, came down with whatever is going around lately last night and woke up this morning with the worst sinus headache. Couldn't even keep my eyes open. Spent most of my day sleeping in a nice, dark room.

Logging off again here shortly for the night, will be around tomorrow though.

Rich qualified with the following:

1'13.481/1'13.666
Wish that random didn't come into the room when they did. The message box distracted me just enough during my first flier that I slipped up in the last two corners.

Both Nige and I broke into high 12s (12.78 and 12.87), but it's mighty tough getting there.

Just posting to let you guys know that I won't be racing this weekend. It sucks because I'll be giving up my chance on the divisional title... but I should be back for the championship battle at Laguna 👍

This tune is great outlaw 👍
Thanks for posting.
If we have a MVP of FMSC S4 you will have my vote for posting all your tune. I have be toggling between yours and Wardez tunes all season (save **** Valley and Mazda raceway) .
Can't wait for saturdays race, I'm hopping for some good battles with the D1ers 👍

Most of my tunes from earlier in the season haven't been that different from one another, mostly tweaking the springs and gears. This is the first one I've posted that's different. Actually, this is the second time using this setup, as I used something similar for Monaco.
I might try qualifying soon if anyone is around. I'll be jumping on for a few laps in the next few minutes :)
Going online right now. 👍

Hey guys. Still sick and its kicking my butt. Not going to be able to get the race info up, so we'll have to wing it on race day. End of the season is not going as planned for me it seems. 👎

That stinks. If you want, I can take your place on Saturday. All I need is the number of laps. 👍

Hope you shake that thing soon.
Get well.

Working on it. Missing too much work to boot. Now I've got one plugged ear and one thats not so my balance isn't so great.

Practice/Qualifying Room - 1472 - 6118 -4259 - 7710 - 5904

get well soon jason ;)

Left room litchi, carra and cicua are still there but

I qualified with L1 - 1'13.425 L2 - 1'13.305 cant remeber who watched it was either litcih, carra or cicua :P. There was lots of low 13's and few 1'13.0 in the practice session, so I won't be surpised if we see a 1'12 for pole or 1'11 if adam shows

I took a shot at you green :sly:
L1 was a 1.13.6X and L2 was 1.13.34X
Almost got you, I had the second luckiest Q lap of my FMSC career and it was still not up
I think it won't hold that long, many heavy hitters have yet to Q.
My BP was 13.006 so anything within half a second makes me happy.

My qualifying effort was somewhat..........disappointing! :D I think lap 1 was a 13.7 after a mistake at the first turn, then I completely messed up lap 2!! Should make for a fun race :)

Some nice qualifying laps up there guys. Well done 👍

It is Tim, but it's definitely possible to go lower. I know I ran a few 13.0's on my 2nd flyer in practice, with a PB of 12.7 on warm rubber.

seriously... anything under 13.5 is pretty impressive on the cold tires.
That's why you try warming them up on your first lap. :sly:

Have to say I'm surprised of the times people are running. Earlier in the week, my car was miles ahead of everyone else. Guess it's back on the track to fix my setup, especially in Sector 3.
