Dennis has put in lots of hours of testing on Spa, if anyone has a good judgement of the currently balance of the cars, its him.

I think maybe a few tweaks here and there, after some testing on some other tracks, this will be awesome :)

It seems some people aren't happy with the car specs, so I've gathered some thoughts on what to say and potential options we could have, just throwing these out there for everyone to pitch a voice on.

Don't worry we appreciate the work. I was just bitter that I had to re-work my setup to cope with the lower downforce. :sly:

(and I'm quitting smoking again... so I'm a little bitchy)

The Minion: As you said, I've put in a lot of time in testing.
I've done my tests at:
Suzuka
Monaco
Spa

And Wardez is testing at:
Laguna Seca
Monza

Any major flaw regarding the specs will most likely pop up if ther's any.

I'd love to listen to all your input you guys might find while racing your car of choice.
I'm confident that the current specs are really close to the final specs (WOODONE, BANDAI, ENEOS and EPSON a side).
I need to get a better idea about the STEALTH cars tho.
I recieved a PM from Minion where he told me how to get hold of the GT-R. As soon as I get my PS3 up and running, I'll see if it works.
And Wardez will be able to test the STEALTH NSX.. So all in all, it looks good.

Btw: There's one spot open in room 2 cause Remy_K can't race.. It's his birthday (Gratz man! )

I'm really looking forward to this race!!

I'll get a room up in about 1 hour for some testing.
And after the tests, I'll open up the PURE JGTS 1-room.

Note: After my tests, I'll update the car specs sheet, so make sure to check it out just before you join the race room.
The RAYBRIG NSX might get a Bhp tweak.

Dennis: Can you send me a friend request through PSN if you're going to be online in a bit? My psn is: GTP_timeattack

Also, I'm going to do a bit of testing after the race today to try and help get some of the cars equalized. Although from the sounds of it, the specs and equalization between the cars isn't bad at all atm...so maybe I shouldn't bother?

One thing I will say is that in a virtual racing game like this, statistics such as weight/aero/hp have very little meaning....other than just being some rather often inaccurate and skewed number generated in this virtual reality. Instead these statistics should be ignored (in that they really aren't a accurate measuring stick at all) as being any type of imperical data to go by. Instead, I think it's far more important to simply concentrate on the overall lap times between the cars (from track to track) by playing with the weight/aero/hp, so that you end up with cars that have very similar cornering performance and apex speeds (in high speed and low speed corners). And of course tire wears is also another crucial aspect to monitor and to try and equalize.

From my experience testing for a series that Tony and I created in the past, we found that some cars were so lopsided compared to others that we would have to shed something like 200-250kg just to get a Mclaren MP4-12c to handle and be competitive against a car like a 458 on the same tires...which as you know is a bit ridiculous (and shows that there some rather major inconsistancies/flaws with the weight/traction moddeling of some cars).

I haven't done any testing yet really, but If I had to take a guess I would say the right direction to go would be to add weight to the GT-R (at least the YH, Calsonic, Nismo, etc.) and add power as well, while possibly taking a bit of weight and power off the NSX and reducing it's aero a bit. This should help to balance out the strength and weaknesses of each car to a good degree, but I will do testing later to get a better idea 👍

Any chance of a live stream from room 1 Wardez? I wanna see how you guys cope with TA :boggled:

It's a shame you can't make it T :guilty: Too bad you live so far away or I'd let you have my backup DFGT. Shipping to Greece from California would probably cost more than the wheel itself though

Thanks mate, see ya for the race then

Btw, I just wanted to thank you for all the time and effort you've put in trying to make this Championship as competitive and fair as possible for everyone involved. I know first hand how long it can take (when we put together the ISC) trying to equalize different cars, so I just wanted to tip my hat to you. We appreciate your hard work 👍

IMPORTANT NOTE:
When you set up your car according to this list (or any PURE JGTS specs sheet for that matter), make sure:
1. That your car is fully run in.
2. That your car got fresh oil.
3. That we are using "Bhp", not "Hp".
4. All PP's stated are whith Aero maxed out.
5. That when you look at your engines output, it's the numbers you'll see when in the settings menu that counts.
I.e: The ARTA NSX show 518 Bhp when viewed in your car list, but show 517 Bhp when viewed in the settings menu.
Settings Menu is what show the correct values, and is therefore the one PURE JGTS use.

Are we doing weight checks aswell as PP checks seeing as most cars now have ballast?

Sounds like a good idea with the margin of error on new specs.
Should be easy only having 3 different weights too.👍

I wake up, and my internet's completely fried. I've been trying to reset everything over and over so I think there's a neighboorhood outtage.

I'm not gonna be able to get it up and time so just go ahead and start without me. Posting from my [hone, sorry guys.

That sucks man. :(

In case anyone missed this like I did.:dopey:

Kamy's taken Remy's spot in room 2.

Just waiting on Dr_Watson and paul. PP/weight checks in around 10 mins.

I'm running bit late, been at family meal plus had few bottles of wine, I will hve quick run before race if that's ok because I might not be able to see and could cause caos lol

my net Dced my again Great i hate my usless net!!! now some bloody random joined meaning i cant rejoin!!!!
Litchy tell HawkWind im going to ****ing kill him thanks!!

well from my brief 5 laps from watching i seen that the NSXes of Aderrrm and Brosif were 7-8mph faster than mole in the lexus so even at current specs the lexuses have no hope to keep with the nsxes (also the difference was almost 1second between then, mole was doing 15s Aderrrm was in the 14s....)

Something about SuperGT cars brings the idiot out in people.

I guess maybe I'll try next week and see if people learn common sense, here's a rundown:

Start, everybody crashes into people in turn 1 - restart
Nepalli decides to go grab some food 30 seconds before restart, doesn't make it in time (duh) we restart again
Mule suggest new start line, DC's, we restart without him, god knows why
Mule comes back, we restart again, this time Nepalli races off the line, and half the field starts on first lap at the new start line, while half the field is expecting the normal warm-up lap.
I quit because this is ridiculous, I'm now expected to start 20 seconds back (in 7th) when I qualified third?

Like I said, I'll check and see if everyone can get their act together next week, but I have no real hope at this point.
And it's only in JGTC races this happens all the time - Why?

I fully understand why timeattack quit playing GT5 now...

Sums it up perfectly for me. After all these restarts, we should have just gone for a grid start, because clearly the formation lap needs a LOT of work. And I know we don't exactly have rules for this series, but getting taken out on a straight because someone doesn't stay off track after quite a big spin is just ridiculous. Common sense seemed to be dreadfully lacking today.

I've been thinking about it, the only thing(s) I can figure are these:

The cars are just to much for most people to handle.
People take JGTC races extra "serious" desperate to finish better then other series.

What we need:
Clear-cut starting-restarting procedures. We waited for Owens on DC's, then we restarted for Nep eating and owens taking a leak, then we restarted for Mule DC, then Alien DC'd and we kept racing, on top of that half the field didn't even know we were starting when we did?

A final decision on waiting for DC's must be made.
Changing amount of race laps by apparantly deciding to go on the first lap shouldn't ever happen, but at least be made 110% clear to everyone.
Qualifying positions either need respected or discarded, I had a few hundred feet and a couple seconds to plow through the field to get to third where I belonged, and with Nep blasting through, I would have just crashed into him anyway, I actually had a 0% chance of starting properly.:yuck:

Unless everyone waited till I left to restart yet again, who knows?

It just blows my mind with all those restarts that people picked that start, of all starts to say "good enough for me"...
