Chorda said no formation lap. Besides the race was going to be crappy anyways. Im out guys, I cant race like this. I blasted through because NO formation lap, not my fault this isn't organized. One of the worst races ever, period. If the race wasnt restarted in the first place, nobody would waste time going to get food or do something else. Accident happened, report it. Simple as that! I qualified 5th and I was put at the back, WTF? Again, chorda said no formation lap, just start and that's what i did.

After Room 2 took 30 minutes to get the pace lap order sorted, our race went off without a problem.

After I had an off with thankfully no damage at the beginning of the race, I knew right away I had to make it a 1-stop race to get back where I wanted to be. Sucks I couldn't hold off Brosif on the last lap to pick up a podium, but considering I crashed in qualifying and then screwed up my race, 4th feels like a win.

Room 1 was terrible. Complete lack of any shred of organization. From the pre-race, to the start, to the formation lap, to restarting the race while people had said to wait, or had disconnected.

Pathetic, really.

I left after I had realized that the race had started while I had been blackscreened. Great job.

but getting taken out on a straight because someone doesn't stay off track after quite a big spin is just ridiculous.

This is probably directed at me. I had no control over the car at all. I was just along for the ride.

IMO, we should never have restarted that first time. Crashes in the first corner are racing. It sucks. It's a 25 lap race, there's plenty of time to get over it, and besides it's practise anyway. Suck it up and get on with the race. Restarts are for single player mode.

Even worse IMO was once we did finally get started, everyone chucked in their toys and left. What happened to just enjoying the race as it happens? Yeah, it was a crappy massively unfair start, but so what? It's no worse than a massive pileup in turn 1, and that race NEEDED to keep going or people like me who got up at 4:30am on a Monday morning for this would need to start leaving.

Too much ego, too many people thinking they're hot **** and trying too hard, not enough respect for your fellow racer and his time. I finished dead last by at least a minute, and was happy to do so because I didn't mess up anyone else's race (I don't think).

First of all, thanks to Aderrrm for hosting the race; the pre-race issues were all adresses perfectly. Good job!

Secondly, thanks to everyone in the room for keeping the race almost 100% clean except for some minor my issues (at least in my case). The race was really fun, clean and fast.

I think that I could have finished closer to Aderrrm if I didn't have damage for 10 laps on my first stinct lol! Anyways, I don't think I could have finished first, considering that Aderrrm didn't seem to have made any mistakes at all, but at the same time he kept a really good pace. So finishing second in that room, with all the talent there is more than satisfying.

If this was actually true, they would have never been invited in the first place.

Mistakes happen. First corner accidents are common.

Yeah, you did an excellent job after that off. I was watching you fade away on my horizon for the first half of the race. You pit a lap earlier than me (i was always going to do 1 stop... only hope to finish good with 1:16s). Never saw your yellow boot again. 👍

Totally agree. I'm also putting my hand up and saying I did ruin CSL's race on the first corner, completely my fault. Somebody else said my name in the lobby but to be honest I don't recall being anywhere near them.

However, once the race did actually take way, even if again, I we're racing by myself for the majority of the laps, I did have some fun keeping up with Dennis for the first 5-6, and the final 2 when he just came from no where with fresh tyres.

Cheers for the guys who stuck it up! 👍

Bad day, got into a karting accident at the indoor place I went with Reevos yesterday. Alarm woke me up and I was sore all over, including a massive calf muscle cramp. Jump out of bed anyway to get the PS3 going for the race, no onnection. Try the PC, nothing. Call my ISP, get an automated messsage about an outtage.

Feel like ****, not feeling like myself with my leg all siezed up and sore so I won't be racing the Integras or my 'vette. Now I read about this practice race somehow going to hell. Crash
was a full speed multi-kart collision that ended up bashing me up more than I thought, sore all over so I'm gonna rest now and try to help salvage the results of this first practice day later on. Sorry guys.

I would also like to mention that at the start of the day, my car only had 5 miles on it.

Dude that sucks glad you're all in one piece.
Get rest and feel better.

haha...

p.s. you're welcome for not blowing by you and trying to hold you up. :P

edit... oppse... sorry for the DP; don't be angry with me GTP gods :nervous:

What he said. Was only in the latter part of the final stint when I saw you were in front that I realised you must have made up a hell of a lot of ground, superb job 👍

For me.. hmm, tyre wear woes again, usually it's the fronts which are worn out seriously quickly for me - this time it was the rears. Was pretty gentle on the throttle for the whole race, not once did I light up the rears (making them turn red) so I was surprised that most of the field did a 1-stop strategy when my tyres were barely hanging on after 8 laps. Looking at a bit of the replay my car is moving around a lot mid-corner on the rear though, so perhaps I need to look at better rear stability - I usually run the car quite loose but seemed to do more harm than good here.

As has been said, the NSXs seemed very quick - even the slightest bit of straight and they could get by - but, in fairness I was quicker through the middle twisty sector, and once we go to tight and twisty circuits their pace won't be an issue at all, imo.

Was a good race though! Top 5 is more than I could have hoped for before the race start. I hate cars with this much power, but seems the Lexus is pretty easy to drive despite that.

And I know we don't exactly have rules for this series, but getting taken out on a straight because someone doesn't stay off track after quite a big spin is just ridiculous. Common sense seemed to be dreadfully lacking today.

I was ricocheting in the middle of the spun, theres nothing i could have done about it, sorry i ran into you.

The mess at the start was bad, but somewhat understandable. The thing that bothered me the most, were some leaving in the middle of the race.

Can someone help me out with a decent-ish tune for the NSX? I don't need your top quality stuff, but something so that I'm not getting understeer and oversteer simultaneously would be sweet.

I hate that the NSX feels planted but edgy in offline mode, but online it's on rollerskates with the wheels made of boogers. Boourns for Spec 2 not fixing the dual physics thing.

Oh, and the only tweaks I made to the car were -5 on the ride height, and +1 on the camber. All else completely stock. :P

Thanks. :)

Yeah that always bugs me too. Even if you're in 5th place, if 4 people quit during the race your position looks less and less impressive.

First time ever racing the NSX. what a blast. Learned a bunch about the car as well learned a few things I hope will carry over to other cars. :)

I think I need more set up.

I only left because I was still in blackscreen. I wouldn't have left otherwise.

Stupid how nobody realized it, though. Of all the times to not restart, they pick that one.

I don't think you could honestly expect them to know you had a black screen.

Honestly, from my point of view it looked like you crashed into the barrier and just drove back on, because I had a clean run along the outside and you still managed to hit me.

I left because I had work to do and also thought I had an FMSC race tonight (seems I don't now) to practice for, which are better options than chasing ghosts. Sure, I agree with Imari, but after all those restarts it was a case of, "What's the point if I can be doing other things?"

Minion seemed to lose traction, hit the barrier, then ricocheted back into the centre of the road, I hit the front of him as I wasn't far behind him, which then sent him the other way, and into you Biffy.

my net Dced my again Great i hate my usless net!!! now some bloody random joined meaning i cant rejoin!!!!
Litchy tell HawkWind im going to ****ing kill him thanks!!

My forum mate sent me a message saying he was trying to join the room. I sent him one back telling him not to as it was this series but he did not read it. My apologies, I will give him a ear bashing.

3 restarts and in the last one got disconnected after the black screen, in the first attempt i hit joshua in the formation lap (sorry my mistake) n had to enter pits, so no race report for me lol.

my Z still needs to be fully run in, i hav 609pp, but those nsx seems faster on straights

I was in room 1 and it was a freaking disaster :s . first attempt at a rolling start and there was a pile up mid pack, think it was paginas that said "people stop weaving" so somebody must of been weaving, Which in the rules it says not to weave on the formation lap. 2nd restart there were people AFK, 3rd restart not everybody knew what was happening and half the field was lost so I left too . Nobody here is new, its not difficult to drive around at 70mph for 1 lap. Was looking forward to this and it fell apart lol .

lol... even when we got on the way with our rolling start at the back it felt like rush hour traffic. Every 300m or so of 60mph the field in front of me kept panic stopping down to 10mph.
I didn't even try to race until after the first go through eu rouge under green.

I loathe rolling starts.
Probably why I totally had a brain fade and forgot about it on the first go round and became part of the only problem we had in room2.

I spent a lap behind you trying to make a clean pass (lap 15ish) and I noticed a a lot of yaw angle mid corner. You were towards then end of your stint so I figured it was a bit more exaggerated due to the tire wear but it still caught my eye.

Yeah, when you came past my rear tyres were absolutely shot to pieces and it was a struggle, was the 8th (and last) lap of that stint - was hoping you'd come past earlier because I was just trying to keep out of the way - but I could see you were being very patient (👍). I think what you mention is probably the cause of the high tyre wear, and was exaggerated further once the tyres got worse, so I need to work on that rear stability mid-corner and under braking.

I don't think you could honestly expect them to know you had a black screen.

Pretty easy to notice a random car sitting there in the middle of the track. My wheel twitched, too, so somebody probably hit me, as well.

Your slipstream gave me a big run down the Kemmel straight and I was going to make the pass going into Les Combes but I thought better of it since it was the first time I had really ever raced wheel to wheel with you. I didn't want to muck it all up and leave a bad impression. :) As you mentioned before, the NSX is going to struggle on tighter tracks so that was probably one of the rare times I will actually have a chance make a pass on you. Besides the fact that you are 10x faster than me.

I saw Aderrrm head to his box early so I figured I would try a 2-stop race. Tire wear slowed me to lap times of 18.5 and 19.0 on laps 11 and 12, respectively, and I knew that making it through the 13 laps of my 2nd stint would require Jenson Button like care of the tires. But on lap 19 I put the right side tires on the grass in the middle of Blanchimont and lit up all four in a pretty sweet drift through the second part of the complex. At that point I decided to pit because I knew the tires wouldn't make it the rest of the way without giving me trouble.

As Turbo pointed out I managed to get around him in the last few laps but he definitely deserves an 'atta boy for his drive through the field! 👍 Congrats to Aderrrm and lapierre for great drives and also a big thanks to Aderrrm for stepping up and volunteering to host Room 2. I definitely want to thank everyone for being patient when we were trying to get rolling on our formation lap and for using your heads' on lap 1, turn 1. 👍

Just to be clear, I don't have hard feelings towards anyone in particular, obviously mistakes happen, but with only 12-14 cars on the track, there's just no reason for first corner pileups, especially on a track like Spa where you gain all your time back (If you drive cautious) immediately.

It's so irritating because it happens so often, it seems like half the races I start in JGTC cars end up a bumper car match the first lap or two, and typically, my amount of respect for other drivers position just leaves me vulnerable to the next aggressive driver in line behind me.
Makes me feel like I'm being punished for driving properly.

Much respect for Dennis, and I understand the amount of restarts grew ridiculous, but by the time half the field realized we were starting on lap 1, the race was semi-over for us. Why would you want to continue at that point?

Maybe he did say we're going on lap 1, I don't know, but if he did, half the field or more still didn't know what to do at that point, were we lining up? Were we taking the random grid PD handed out? I still don't know for sure, but there certainly wasn't time or space for me to get to third before the start.

Grid start races tend to go off without a hitch, almost every time. ;)
