Are we doing another preseason race next weekend? It would be nice to see how the different cars stack up on a much tighter circuit. Plus I'd like to do another race and see how it goes. The last one left me with a bit of a bad taste in my mouth, but I'll try and keep my hopes up for now

As you can see.. We are. 👍

I don't think you need to worry that much about race 1.
It was our first race, and for us to run in to all sorts of trouble was expected (Perhaps not to the degree it got to).
Stay with us for another pre-season race, and I'm sure you'll find it much more enjoyable. 👍

I wrote Laguna Seca in the sign up list, but we can ofc have a vote about it.. It need to be a tight Real World track, that's all. Monaco, GP/D, Seca. those kind of tracks.

Just to get an idea about the cars from a different type of track than we ran this weekend. 👍

Btw, if we decide on a real tight circuit like Monaco (where passings a pita) we should probably try and organize it so the quicker drivers are in one room and vice versa. It might not be a bad idea regardless of what track is chosen, as it would likely be more fun and competitive for everyone.

Yea Brock. Thing is that we're not running a pre-race quali (as we'll do in the real series), so it's impossible to know since a lot of guys are very even in pace.
The ones you need in your room is GTP_Aderrrm and SuperSic, lapierre4 and Remy_K might be fun to race also..

It's not important to be fast, but it's important to be clean, situational awereness, respectful and also to stay commited and contribute. 👍

You can see the schedule in Post 4, and the time for race is always Sundays,18.00 PM (GMT). Room opens up around 45-60 minutes prior race.

So do you have time tomorrow before 18.00 PM (GMT), or any day before that time for that matter?

I predict that racing on Laguna Seca will be something almost impossible in these cars. As soon as the rear tires will be worn even to the smallest degree, the cars will become undriveable, especially at the Corckscrew and at the left-hander just after. That is why I will skip that second pre-season race if the track does not change!

BTW, it sounds like a threath lol but it's far from that, simply an opinion!

The WSGTC race at Laguna went pretty well if I recall, the trick will be to make sure your tires wear evenly, and making sure your car doesn't over-steer to much in 3 specific corners. 👍

Some of the best races have been at Laguna Seca if I recall. Not ever have it been a mayham or a crash fest.

I need to start a discussion about DC/ restart policy.

Since we all have our real lifes to attend to, we make arrangements to be able to get 1,5-2 hours for a race free..
That's why we can't delay a race for to long.
If we keep it simple, at 5 past, the host start the race for the last time, no matter what happens. If we can all agree on that, the discussions will be minimal since we all will know what we decided together.

If possible, the host can start the race before 6 PM (GMT) as long as all are in the room.
But if something happens during the formationlap (crash, DC.. whatever) the race can restart. But under no circumstance can the host / steward / admin aboard a race that's been started at 5 min past.

Is this something we can agrre on?
If not, I'd love to listen to other suggestions how to deal with this?

Agreed.
If nothing less, forcing the issue this way will bring that serious state of mind everyone needs for start time, whether it's someone weaving on formation when it's clearly not allowed, driving to hard at the start, changing their oil, whatever the case. It's unfortunate for the victims, but as I've thought about it, I wish we hadn't even restarted this Sunday at all. I know I was one of the people wanting a restart, but it's become very clear to me that restarts only bring in more restarts.
I'd actually had something even stiffer in mind to be honest, (no restarts, period) but this should work nicely.
Nobody like seeing 40 past the hour ring in without being started yet, especially those who have commitments for right after when the race should be finished.

Also DC's, as said, I always want to wait, we all want everyone to get to race, but every time we wait for one DC to come back, it seems another DC's, and eventually, somebody DC's anyway. So what's the point? A DC is unfortunate in any case, restarting and changing who DC's only redirects the misfortune.
