owens my damn net cuts off every 5mins so i doubt i can mae a room before i got cut useless useless AOL (A O HELL)

Good thing you got a spot on the grid locked. So if your not chasing D1. I would not sweat it. Get it that net dialed in for tomorrow man.

Ok, so we'll move deadline to 16.00 PM (GMT) tomorrow.

In the future, please try to do your quali in time.. After all, quali is open for 6 days. It will help the administration of this series to run so much smoother. Thanks. 👍

I had been trying den but net only improved as of today there was a period today when it stayed up for over 2hours :nervous: but from tuesday to friday its been on/off every minute or so so i never bothered to try get online on the ps3....now its going back to its crappy self :(

Edit: Thanks for moving the deadline Denilson ill hope it works when i wake up....

If I'm honest, changing the deadline sucks. I did mine earlier today when I wasn't really ready to, because I knew I couldn't do it tonight. Had I known the deadline was gonna change, I would have left my qualifying effort until the morning.

That's a fair point, especially when someone's on the bubble as a result.

We had 6 days for this now.

Yeah Nige that's always what I worry about too. But in order to get the series kicked off decently for both divisions I think it's worth it although a bit menacing considering the fact that being in D2 keeps you there for the next race.

A contingency I've thought of before was that there could be two deadlines, so to speak, where one is for both divisions (Midnight PST) and the other will only allow you to qualify for division 2 no matter how fast. I hate having to discuss all these options so close to crunch time but as I'm sure most of us know well by now, this is series start crisis time. Getting people dropping out, weird PM's, it's a lot for us to handle so if any of you have thoughts please feel free to pour them all over this nice clean floor we've got rumbling here.

Sorry about missing the initial deadline. I would have quailed tonight but I got sidetracked with other things. I'll qualy in the morning if you guys decide to keep the extended deadline.

If it was just for this race, I'd take my punishment for my mistakes in qualifying and accept the deadline change, but it's the fact that I would essentially miss the first 2 rounds, which would mean my 2 dropped rounds gone for the season. Not that I expect to win anything, but I'd like to give it my best effort.

You guys do an awesome job with the organisation of this series and I don't want to cause any headaches. I'll accept whatever is decided and race accordingly. :)

I agree with Nige... People had all week to qualify. I say anyone that qualifies after the deadline just decides where you are at the back of the D2 grid.
I've been working all week on the website so I didn't touch the car until today and still qualified on time.

People should stop taking themselves so seriously. You don't need 80 hours of practice before you qualify.

I think it's a fair compromise. If Dennis doesn't say otherwise, anyone that qualifies later than two hours and six minutes from now will only be ranked in division two.

new idea... anyone that qualifies late take an automatic penalty.
It effectively will do the same thing without effing up the qualifying engine on the website.
kinda like handing in your Essay late in school takes a penalty on your grade.

Or that... But the regular 5% would add more than 5 seconds so would 2% added to any time done after deadline "eff" it up too?

I would have quallified on friday if my net would stay on long enough but I couldnt get online properly since tuesday as I said I'm gonna be in D2 anyway. I've barely practised as a result too , it literally goes off on every two mins!!.

Is there something wrong with "You missed the deadline, start at the back?" I mean, my qualifying time was awful and all but I went out and did it.

If there are legitimate RL reasons why people couldn't qualify (something came up suddenly, technical problems, or whatever) then that's cool and up to the stewards to decide what's reasonable. Paulmac is probably a good example of this, and it's sad to hear that he's having issues. But if it's people just letting qualifying slide until it was too late then this is just what happens. Start the series the way you mean to continue, IMO, especially with regard to late qualifications and such.

I don't mean to be a dick to the people who haven't qualified, but I think extending the deadline is a bit rude to all the people who did make the effort to do it on time.

P.S. How annoying is it that you can't practise offline? Good one, PD...

why not use the standard 5% for a corner cut?
if you missed the deadline IMO you have to eat it. (this includes my faster than me team mate so I'm not exactly biased here)

This will put everyone that is late at the back of the D2 grid in the order of their speed.

oh, and no it won't eff up the system, the penalty % is free-form. you can put in anything between 1-100.
So use whatever you and Den feel comfortable with.
There has to be *some* kind of penalty though.

edit:
On a completely unrelated note I just finished fully implementing customer cars. So if you're getting an error on your home page about headers just log-out and log-in. That will refresh the cookie data and get rid of the error message.

Then we'll just go with the standard 5% then but can you distinguish late qualifiers from dirty laps somehow?

No troubles here, thanks again every one.

WiiFreak:
Lap1: 52.293 / 43.377 / 23.230 = 1:58.900
Lap2: 52.224 / 43.125 / 22.821 = 1:58.170

Which puts him in 12th, and bumps Joshua1994 down to D2.

There is still an open room and an hour 10 minutes left for deadline, if anyone's around that hasn't.
1:58.6 to get in D1 atm.

I really dont like the idea that I will be in D2 for the next 2 races. 1 mistake and I get punished for 2 races. now im forced to perfom well in the other races. for drivers who know that they will never end up in D1 or thinking about winning a championship this rule is ok, but for me this rule is the heaviest penalty ever. many will have the choice to drop both the rain races and many will do. I'm bad in wet and this time I'm forced to do them.

I just wanted to highlight GV27's accomplishment here. He's improved so much in so little time, I'm really amazed that he's made D1 in such a competitive series in his first true outing in a GT500 car.

Great bloody work 👍

There's only a chance of rain, not a probability.
You'll be fine. Remember we're running Spa and Suzuka twice. 👍

Well the little wet track indicator we got with spec II really helps 'cause before I would always guess wrong on which type of tire to use during different types of rain so *phew* Otherwise I'm ok in the wet.

Get on right now and give it a go mule you still have a few minutes. ****, start a room yiurself, as long as you're in an official room you can get ready and technically start a little after midnight. The rule is you must be in a room, not necessarily set your time before then. Just go before the 30 minute grace period.
