Pretty efficient so far too... only 577 lines of code @ 135KB of disk (that will pork up a bit once we start sprinkling graphics around).
... though there's always room for more optimization. :D

I can't find any conversation with specific info about what is clean and what not at Spa.Is there one?

Are we going with 2 wheels on track at any time? White lines? There are many places where someone can gain or lose tenths by following different rules. I would like some clarification.
 
I would believe as we ran most tracks in wsgtc, lines and rumbles denote track boundaries.. as long as at least 2 wheels are on track, track lines, or rumbles... clean. Colored pavement is NOT track.
 
there are definitely places to abuse the boundaries to your advantage.
places to watch:
* cutting Eau Rouge = very significant time gain in sector 1
* running wide out exiting the 90° left (Turn8) after Rivage = minor time gain
* running wide in Pouhon is illegal but it won't gain you any time
* going outside the kerb exiting Curve de Paul Frere will gain almost as much as cutting Eau Rouge due to compounding speed down the straight
* running wide in Blanchemont will gain a few tenths if done intentionally, accidentally it will cost.
* cutting the bus stop chicane is also very easy to do and pick up lots of time

As a reminder as well... I have the Spa track set as my default track in my lounge. I believe Dennis(Dennilson/Chorda) does as well.

So if you are PSN friends with either of us, you can just go to our lounge whether we are there or not.

* If two wheels on track is the rule, then going all 4 wheels out of the kerb exiting Paul Frere will not gain you any time comparing with going 2 wheels off the kerb.

As you see, it is probable that not everyone shares the same opinions and therefore i think that a detailed official set of rules needs to be provided, just like Monza. I can't understand how people have already qualified and i am the only one raising questions on this matter.

Also ill be quallifing at some point tonight as I planned on the first week but the net had other ideas :ouch:.

2. Agreed, even though i don't get how ''accidentally'' running wide differs in time gain.

1. If we go by the usual OLR rules you just have to keep two wheels on the kerbing. (personally I hate that method, and always try to keep two wheels on the asphalt... but it is the GTP standard that's been around for years.)

2. If you run wide in Blanchemont intentionally you're carrying more speed by using less steering input. If you go wide by accident you're generally still scrubbing speed but just got the turn-in point a bit wrong so the extra distance costs a tenth or two.

It's always two wheels on rumbles, though like Doc, I would prefer 2 wheels on asphalt myself as well. Especially for Eau Rouge, where you can put all 4 on the huge rumble strip. But the rules are the rules, so I usually use as much as possible there to carry extra speed down the straight.
When rumble strips end, it's two wheels inside the white lines.

That would be where I crashed on lap 2 of my quali, and I only had 2 in the dirt.:crazy:

However I prefer not to run in any other mode than the one I will actually race in, so that I'm used to the car's characteristics for the setup I'm using in the mode I am racing in, which here is a public lobby. If I practice in a private lobby, even though the difference is small, if the oversteer is dumbed down it can really confuse me come race time.

So with that, has anyone got a room up? :D
