I had two self-inflicted horrible races. Spa was really a shot of venom for me and I hope it doesn't cripple me so much that I fall down a division. Holding my breath on that conclusion x(

I just had really bad pace and was inconsistent. Spun out twice in the feature race, then crashed twice on the sprint. None of those being due to anyone but myself.

Congrats to Brock, Adam for winning! and Alex for getting a podium at an extremely competitive sprint race!

You guys are missing the point, the new guy joined and he still had the bar underneath his name and the room wasnt functioning right as when Pag changed the regs it was still saying 1150, since I was getting boycoted I left and I knew as soon as I couldnt rejoin it was the knew guy causing it!

So I messaged Pag Via PSN to ask if he could ask him to leave himself to do what id been told to he just plain ignored it and kept sending impatient messages back when also the delay was the new guys fault aswell.

Case closed anymore about it being my fault when its clearly not im going to lose my cool!

And I thought it was the hosts job to help not hinder proceedings...

🤬 happens. Not saying this to be a dick, but I've seen rooms where when you joined and somebody else got dc'd.

It's an incompatibility issue, and what it means is you have a firewall on.
Biffy also has a firewall on. I would guess Mule might also.

BTW - Server maintenance happened the other day, so I already know where all these extra problems are coming from. ;)

Unless there's something I don't know of (which is highly likely), I'm pretty sure I just have Windows Firewall.

I almost never have "compatibility issues" I think I may have only seen that once or twice. Didn't get it today, as I never tried to get back in the room.

I was very happy with how those races went. Very enjoyable.

I let NOSS go at the start of the feature and focussed on working my way slowly up the field. Was running in clear air with no one around for 90% of the race. Beautiful.

The sprint was interesting. It was quite funny to storm past NOSS on the straight after the start, and he quickly ducked into the pits at the end of the first lap. Posi and I found ourselves more or less alone, and I think we both came to the conclusion that pitting would only put us back in the fray and slow us down. So we both went 5 laps, and then pitted with two to go. I came back out in the middle of an epic battle between 3 cars, and I settled down behind to see if I could pick up any scraps. I could not. But a clean race and a good finish.

After the complete nightmare that was the preseason race at Spa, this was a very pleasant surprise. Thanks for the great racing guys. :)

I chased 2 times with huge damage in the first race and got ****ed another 2 times.

Second race i had another huge damage crash and it was all over for me.

Pretty disappointing races :(

Gratz Replay for the both wins, well done.

Did anyone else have issues with the guys connection at all? I know I don't, so at worst it's an incompatibility issue between you and him. That doesn't mean "it's all his fault", it could be either of you.
But I know you have incompatibility issues, I don't know that he does.

So either it was you, or it was both of you, the one thing it was not, was just him. Otherwise everyone would see the issues you saw.

That's a good point, your issues only tend to arise with others that have incompatibility issues. They can take anyone out.

Quick review.

First race started decent. By lap 8 I was running with Pag and I can't recall who else. Anyway I had went in behind pag's draft say two cars back and planned to hang there part throttle as we was approaching the brake point. The. The game decided to show me lag. BAAMMM mind you I'm cranked up with two subs and a but kicker. This scared the living crap out of me. Damaged both fronts. The wheel was chattering in the turns. So in the outs I go. Was looking for a one stop race. Figured 8/9 not bad place to get damaged. Come out pits and run across Noss. The chicane after ea rouge he over cooked his brakes and ran wide. I ticked inside and kept my momentum. Heist not seen me and came back on track damaging my left front and putting me in the grass. This was like 11. So pitted again. tried to run it out but tires weren't having that at this point. Aggressive driving. So put again and attempted damage control. Only to catch a bad off on 20 damaging myself on the right front. Lap 23 posi had shown his nose behind me. I knew I needed to balance this damage. After last left I took the wall and luckily got just enough damage to balance the car and hold Posi off.

Second race was pure fun and Clean. Got a fifth.

Yes CSL but thats my point Pag never even bothered to try thats my real gip if he had of atleast tried id be less angry the fact that he ignored it really annoyed me...

Oh look in FMSC with no issues what so ever hmmm...

Did anyone else have issues with the room only because he joined?

I don't t hink the FMSC room neccessarily means much for PURE today. Both rooms had issues. Adam even opened a second room for us to see if that would fix the problem. It did not.

I just think Kaz watched the InterLeague challenge yesterday and decided the PURE guys were too fast. Thought he would slow them down a bit. Problem is, the aliens rose above the connections today, and dominated per usual.

Can we just let it go? We'll probably never know for sure, and pointing fingers isn't really helping.
You're absolutely right.

But I'll have to take issue when people post up in such a rude manner about something like this. With the connection issues Paul's had in the past, I don't see how he can be so judgmental and angry at someone over what may not even be true.

Paul I did not get 1 message from you asking me to make the guy leave. So don't lie.

and mule stop being an arse you rage quit after you were on my arse for the formation lap, which then resulted in you hitting me and spinning me round... We are not stupid, I will be having words with Dennis don't you worry.

you were lucky you been raced as you were 30mins late!

apart from that had to great races, I enjoyed very much

Thanks Eddie! I'm sorry Spa turned out to be rather nightmare-ish for you.

I had one of the most fun "racing weekends" ever! First race (D1) was exciting and tremendously fair. There were almost no problems that I am aware of (although I admit sometimes Biffy got me a bit nervous, as I was seeing the front of his car everywhere!! But that's part of the game 👍 ), so kudos to everyone.

As for my race, I tried to fight with the group ahead of me, Dennis, Nige and Biffy. Unfortunately, at one point I braked too late and hit Nige, just a tiny little bit, but enough for him to half-spin. I did, however, wait until he recovered and let him pass, so I think that's alright, mate? Didn't mean to hit you, I hope we're fine!

From then on, I remained with them for a while and made the mistake of stopping one single lap too late. Had I stopped before, maybe I could have held myself with Biffy. Being on my own and having to push hard to try and catch Biffy (impossible!) I made a mistake and hurt my front right suspension, so I had to be careful and just maintain my position. I did so, and 7th position feels great, especially after the great fun battles around the race.

And then 2nd race I made the most out of everything. I knew I didn't have the best pace, so I concentrate very hard on not making mistakes, and pushing from the get go. Coming out of the pit, I was 3rd and knew I'd finish at least 4th or even 5th, but then Biffy made a mistake, and I was 2nd, with two of the fastest guys behind me. Of course they'd pass me!! They did, but I was able to maintain a close gap to them, and on the last lap, the backstraight was the point where I got third. From then on, as nervous as I could be, I tried to keep a cool head, knowing the bus stop would be a critical point.

And hell if it was!! I made a mistake and Tony, being the great racer he is, knew exactly what to do. When I exited the last turn, I had to witness how he had effectively got the best out of me. 4th was great already, after one of the best battles I've ever had. But he pressed too hard on the throttle and that was my luck today!

First podium and I plan to enjoy the moment!!

hu? I never hit you?

For what it's worth:

I very rarely have online issues. Today the game had frame rate lag in the Div 2 room with obvious lag when I got punted into the back of Pag.

Beings this is so uncommon I wanna say the network was having its set of issues and not so much anyone personally.

The FMSC race was fine for me though. Smooth as silk but we lost wiifreak.

Go figure.

Some fun racing lads. 👍

Ya I know CSL I shoulda stayed out behind Tony to do a 1 stop. But I got a bit hot headed from making a few mistakes and getting annoyed from 2 small slides which were generated in the dirty air in 3rd gear below 80 mph with not much throttle. I thought a new set of tyres would do me good but I only made mistakes on my 2nd stint aswell aha. Was always going to beat tough to beat TA here, and especially Tony who was on a 1 stop who fortunately for me got caught up in one of his stints meaning I could take 2nd place on the last lap.

Sprint race was a standard pit on the very first lap. :sly:

Congrats to TA on his win and to GV on his well deserved podium. :)👍

Race report:
I started in 8th.
Was just focused on not making any mistakes in the initial part of the race. Last time my pace was ok at Spa was like 12 days ago. Managed a 13,8... then.. In the beginning of the week, I had to get my quali done since I was leaving for London and knew I would not have any time to practice.. My pace was soo slow. Ended up with a 15.2..

And I've not started up my PS3 at all since.
And since I was hosting as well, I knew I would'nt get much practice in. So I was not expecting too much from myself.

However, I started out slow and coutios. Main reason was that I did not want anyone else to pay for me not practicing enough.
I got to me pretty soon that I was slow. Welsh, Red and Biffy dissapeared in the horizon during the first couple of laps.
But as the race went on, my pace got better and better. Not super quick, but I atleast felt confident.
I believe Biffy and Welsh had a slight contact after the long sweeping left going in to the rigth/Left/Right section. This made me pass Welsh, and close up to biffy.

By this time, Welsh started to catch up to me. I thought he had damage, but obviously not. The crash looked bretty bad from my perspective.
When Welsh passed me a lap or 2 later, I managed to stay in his draft. So when Biffy run wide in the righthander prior the straight leading up to the buss stop, Welsh had to brake, and I passed both of them. From here on, I managed to keep them behind be. I guess I had pretty good tires at the time, and them 2 fighting helped me a lot.

RedReevos had a good race and ran with the aliens. But I had no idea about that when I was in the race. So I tryed to pit early for my 2nd stop to try and jump him due to better tires.
And 2 laps later, he DC'd. (I really feel for you mate. You ran an awesome race up to that point! 👍 ) So my early pit transformed from an attempt to catch up, to an opportnity for the guys behind instead.

I did an 11 lap stind, and knew that Welsh was gaining on me. I did not know.. I just KNEW.. And with 3 laps left, I could see him in my rear view. At this time, I ran 2:17's and felt like a sitting duck. Fortenutly, Biffy was fighting him, so I managed to keep my distance.
4th place is so much more than I could ever hope for.

Sprint race. I started in 4th.
Had Wardez, TnJF and GV ahead of me.. And tony1311 right behind me.. :scared:
tony1311 tried to pass me after the long startight, but I got a good exit and he ended up in a bad position, so timeattack overtook him. So now I had timeattack and tony in my rear view.. So while I tryed to drive defensively, and also keep the pace up to not loose the guys ahead, disaster strikes. While in GV's slip and with cold tires (Still on 1st race lap), I ran wide in the righthander leading out to the last long staraight. Picked up damage on both my rear (?) suspentions. So had to pit right away.

I just tryed to keep my pace up after this. And me timeattack, GV and tony had a fun battle from lap 5-9.. Well, them 3 was battleing, while I struggled to not loose their draft.
At this moment, I thought to my self that 5th is good, keeping in mind I ended up in 4th in heat 1.
But by lap 7, I noticed Biffy closing in on us 4 fast. Pace was pretty low in our pack, and Biffy had clean air. So by the last lap, Biffy passed me in the end of the long straight after Eau Rouge. I stayed close to him, and got a good run out on the final long section. But did not catch him soon enough, so had to let of the throttle to not run wide in the fast left kink prior busstop.

So I ended up in 6th.

A very fair race all the way if you ask me. Had an awesome Sunday. 👍

Connection Issues: It's really sad when it happens. I can really feel it in my heart when someone DC's. I've not DC's much at all (knocks on wood), but I know the feling when disaster strikes.
What I'd like to ask from you who had a bad day with your connection. Please, don't post negative posts in here. There's nothing we can do about it from here. These DC's happens so randomly, so there's no way that we can change procedures, rules and such to make them go away.

Incidents: Please PM incident reports to me, Wardez, Dr_Watson and CSLACR. Do not post angry/agressive messages in here. It will only end up in arguments that will not lead to anything good. I.e me and tony after the Suzuka race. I'm sorry for that.

Instead, PM the other part if you want to discuss what happened. I.e I PM'ed Aderrrm about a small incident after the Suzuka race, and we're totally fine.

I can understand the frustration if the incident apears like if some one drive like s**t. But please, keep your cool and contact the stewards and the other part. Thanks. 👍

It will be interestinhg to see the promotion/demotion procedure. I hope I'm safe.. :scared:

Was quite an exciting and enjoyable day of racing, although there were certainly a few cringe worthy moments along the way (particularly in the sprint race) Congrats to all the podium finishers as well to all of those who walked away with a great result. And I must say, I feel for all of those who were plauged with the nauseating connection issues today...hopefully things are better next time :ill:

See ya guys next weekend

I had two good reasonably steady races. Zero damage or spins in either of them. Very happy with 7th and 9th. Litchi I'm kickin' my self for giving you 8th! I managed to take a full 1/2 second off my PB lap time in fresh air during race 2. A 16.6xx. Very happy with that. All those who raced near me were extreamly curtious and kept good braking clearence in the slipstream. Nice clean passes so I've no complaints all evening. I'm in NZ and the furthest way from all of you, I had zero connection lag.

PS - Owens you owe me big time for helping you out in the pit entrance during race 2. :D Beers on you mate.

@Dennis. Great race report. Thanks for sharing.

@Outlaw - Congrats on the main race win. I made one mistake today, and it was a tap to you, my teammate on lap 1. Sorry mate. Not how we drew that up.

It will be interesting to see the promotion/demotion procedure. I hope I'm safe.. :scared:

I am definitely scared of this one. I would hate to lose my position in DIV 1 because of the GT5 servers. I am not sure how the point structure works on that. Guess I will find out soon enough.

I'm worried I may end up in D2, even with the podium finish... which would be a shame anyway, but hey.

Oh and thanks Adam :) Congrats for your first race and smart 2nd race!

Pag did "Its not me its the new guy" not comprehend to maybe say to him paul cant get in can you try leaving and coming back so he can get in? ...... If i were host id of interpreteded that and atleast asked him to try leaving coming back maybe, it might just be my common sence though.

Also I voiced it in the lobby before you ignored me and told me to leave... Calling me a liar is rich I only speak the truth if the truth is brutal sometimes tough I allways voice my Honest opinion.

As alot of people by now must of realised I dont hide my feelings I speak my mind allways, which sometimes gets me into trouble which I sometimes dont understand, as the old saying goes "if you cant handle the truth dont ask for it".

Its like poor Hamilton and Plato speaking their minds and are completely right but yet they get crap thrown at them for doing it.

This is a perfect example of this ;) (if you look at the comments on this video you sorta get an idea) yet Plato is completely right about how the turbos were just driving past on the straights and he had no chance to win but Matt Neal took himself and his teammate out last lap last corner like the tool he is.

Here is the very crash no watch and laugh your head off  (Aussies will know Neal from Bathurst 2000 when he was 3 laps down and he took out Crompton who was leading)

Tim, did we include the best laps and quali points in the total standings for D1?

Great racing today guys! Congrats to Brock for the race one win and to Adam for the sprint race 👍

I had an interesting day! :) Started off a little too slow and found myself falling back a little early on, just waiting for things to settle down. Got into a groove and found myself reeling Rees in for 5th I believe before making a pass and heading after Biffy. The 3 of us held our small gaps for a little before I found myself sleeping and taking a huge spin after 'Pouhon'? (the long downhill left), but managed to keep it off the wall, let everyone by and re-joined second to last :(. Pitted a little early to try and jump back into the mid race battle which worked nicely and was able to get close enough to Dennis to catch his draft as he warmed up his new tyres ;). Got past Dennis and made a gap big enough to break the draft, then saw Biffy in the sand and just re-joining the track before the long back straight. If I'd have stayed full throttle, I would have hit Biffy so had to brake heavily to make sure I got through safely, but unfortunately this gave Dennis the chance he needed to breeze by, never to be seen by me again. Nice pace in the 2nd half buddy!

I then enjoyed a battle with Biffy and GV, before another early pit gave me the advantage I needed to break the two of them for 6th with 9 laps to go. I then had to keep looking behind for the final few laps as Biffy was reeling me in, but luckily the chequered flag came out in time, as 1 more lap, he would have got me :D. Turned out to be a 5th place finish after Rees's very unfortunate engine blow up, tough break man :ouch:

Sprint race was over before it begun after getting a light tap in Eau Rouge on the start sent me spinning into the wall with damage, so had to limp round then pit. Thinking about it, was this pit stop outside the pit window and should I have pitted again? If so, I apologise and accept any penalty that may be due. :guilty:

As for my race, I tried to fight with the group ahead of me, Dennis, Nige and Biffy. Unfortunately, at one point I braked too late and hit Nige, just a tiny little bit, but enough for him to half-spin. I did, however, wait until he recovered and let him pass, so I think that's alright, mate? Didn't mean to hit you, I hope we're fine!

No problem Alex. Smallest of taps and you did the right thing. All good and some great racing by you again today, especially the podium in the sprint race. 👍👍

Thanks man. As I said, my pace got better the longer in to thre race we came. Felt good apart frmo the last 3 laps.

No, you can pit after the first race lap. No Problem.
You can not pit before the first race lap has begun. (Pitting right after the formation lap.
And you cann not pit on the last lap. Everything else is fine, so no problem. 👍
