To all: I'd love if more drivers could qualify in time (no pun intended). Deadline is reached roughly in 5 days. So there's defenetly enough time to set your lap. 👍

I'll open up a practice room in a while.. Will post roomnumber when it's up.

LOL Imari!

I hear you.
As long as you run the qualifyer (no matter your time), you're approved for the reversed grid order rule come raceday.

Btw: Did'nt TRP_REPLAY race??
And what about posimosh?

Replay was a no-show

posimosh made it in time for Race 2

My apologies for missing the first race. I was up practicing for the race far to late last night and set my alarm wrong when I'd finished. Must have been in a bit of a GT5 stupor. This is totaly my bad. I apologise to all you guys and especially to the room host Litchi.
:guilty: :guilty: :guilty: :guilty: :guilty: :guilty: :guilty: :guilty: :guilty: :guilty:

No need to apologies for me dude. I totally know what time is it for you when it's 18:30 GMT+1 for me in France:D :D :D . I understand you, no worry for that ;)

Bit of a strange one yesterday. Some random DC!

Thought I'd come back for the sprint and cleanly went from 7th to 3rd down into the first corner. But I just wasn't warmed up like the rest of you from driving in the feature race 15 mins a go. Made a mistake in that sweeping left hander... cold tyres and glimpsed at immortal exiting and joining the room... them things seriously put me off. :grumpy: Was catching up the pack after my spin, but as soon as the pack picked up the pace, my pace stood still and was only doing 57s on fresh tyres. Decided to call it a day, even if it means I'm in D2 for 2 weeks.

I could understand if I got DC'ed if I had a half a MB wireless internet connection but when it's so out of the blue like that... 👎 Was doing great aswell... just took 2nd after NOSS had spun.

La Sarthe Quali:

You'll only get 1 shot at La Sarthe.
Timer starts after the 1st chicane on Mulsanne straigh, and ends by the finish line. That meens that the 2 first sectors are removed from the total time.
Only 1 shot, 1 lap.

Note: This is the same sectorline that also will be used as start line in the race.

In the chicanes, all you need to care about is not beeing on the wrong side of the rumbles.
Other than that, standard track limits apply.

Make sure to not go outside the solid white line on your left going in to the Mulsanne hairpin.

Me, CSLACR, LitchiGTPlay and PureGTMuzz did quali a few hours ago.

Ugh. Still not a fan of that quali method. I'd rather have a full lap, but meh.

what's not to like about it. It only skips the 1st 2 sectors... Or would you like to sit through a 4 minute lap and then watch another 4 minute lap?

4 minute outlap, then one 4 minute flyer, then time for the Steward to write down the time and verify that it's clean. Shouldn't be any longer than normal.

And then 2 more 4 minute laps.. lol

oh yea I forgot lol so mule if you want to sit through 12 minutes for 1 persons qualifying then feel free ha

plus tyres will prob be worn after 2nd lap ha

Dennis you **** when you comin over to England again? I want to see more blonde hot sweedish girls ha, oh and to see you of course ha

I agree with him. I hate that method too. :P
It cuts off the hardest part of the track.

1 outlap 1 flyer... done in 8 mins, and the track is so friggin big you can qualify in big bunches. *shrug*

I agree with Mule. I'm totally confused by these new method.
I have no idea where are the sectors in La Sarthe and i have no idea where is the 1st chicane or the Mulsanne straight.

No idea Dan!! Soon I hope.. Maybee you should get your fat *** over here??

About the quali method: The biggest reason to use tis method was time. We'll do the same on Nurburgring 24h as well.

Minion07: Just do 1 lap, and you'll know when you're clear of the first 2 sectors. That's where your quali lap begins. 👍

It's not a particularly difficult qualifying procedure tbh. You'll know when sector 2 has passed because it tells you when you pass sectors.

.: RACE SPECIFICS | STAGE 4 | La Sarthe | 22 LAPS | DEC 18th :.

La Sarthe Race:
Race Laps: 22 (Formation Lap is replaced by the 2 first sectors. Start Line is at the start of the 3rd sector, just after the first Mulsanne Straight chicane.)
Distance: 300 km - Enduro - Time/Weather Change. 1 Race only!

Stage Specifics:
Track limits apply as usual. There's however a few spots that needs to be highlighted.

Mulsann Straight chicanes:
The solid white line and the rumble strip do not line up. So make sure to stay on the correct side of the rumbles, and ignore the solid white lines inside the chicanes. As long as you're on the correct side of the rumbles, you're fine.

Mulsanne hairpin:
When approaching the Mulsanne hairpin, there's a solid white line on your left hand side. That line is supposed to be respected as any solid white line. Do not go outside this line with more than 2 wheels.

Pit Entry:
When entering the pits, make sure to sow your car enough to ensure that the AI can keep it on the tarmac. Going full throttle in to the pits will force your AI to cut the sand pit, and gain 3-5 seconds. It's each drivers responsibility to ensure that the AI can drive the correct way to the pits.

Pit Exit:
As usual, you can cross the solid white pit exit line. Any incident, big or small as a result of a driver crossing the solid white line (either a driver on track, or a driver exiting the pits) will render a penalty.

Other than that, make sure to try hard to stay inside track bounderies. La Sarthe is a wide track with a lot of corners that easaly can be cut with huge time gains as a result. Stewards will be very strict when judging corner cuts etc.

A couple of race questions.

Will the time variation be scaled so that the race length = approximately 1 day?
Starting weather will be set to the real life weather in France, or random?
Weather variability at 100%?

P.S. The title of your post still says Nurburgring. ;)

Think you forgot to change the title Dennis.
Really looking forward too Sarthe though. Hoping to get a quali set sometime tomorrow afternoon, so it'd be appreciated if somebody we're around. 👍

Time variation will simulate 24 hours.

Regarding the weather, we have to await Eddies response. We had a discussion about it and I can't remember what we decided exactly..

Joshua: Sorted! 👍

Eddie said we were going to check the real-world forecast for the day, and run that, which I think is a great idea.👍
No more "is it gonna? isn't it?", much more like life.

NOTE: Quali % penalty for going wide (if time could've been gained) / cut corners is reduced to 3%.
This number will vary depending on track. La Sarthe is a huge track and 5% would add roughly 8 seconds. That's too much.
3% adds around 5 seconds which is strict, I know, but in line with what a penalty should end up around.
Late quali % penalty is still at 2% until further notice.

Me and Wardez have tryed to hook up in a chat the last few days. But our spare time does not line up the way we hoped.
We're going to discuss a bit of this and that, and we'll update you all as soon as we've find some time for a chat. 👍

If anyone is up for a drive... Ill be posted in a room with "pure" and "omega" in the title...
