I committed to this championship, and that means the world to me. I'm sticking with you until the end, whatever happens.

That said, I don't think I've ever been as pissed off as I am right now after a race. Not disappointed, not surprised, not sad. I'm pissed off; majorly pissed off. Seeing the general pace of the race, today was a good day to get a decent result. I had been training like crazy during the whole week, and got a qualifying time with wich I was absolutely delighted.

Race starts; first lap goes fine, no problems. Second lap I get hit; meaning I have to pit and lose a huge amount of time. Great. Third lap, I get hit again; I decide not to pit because that would mean "race over" for me, and have to deal with a damaged car for 6 laps. From then on, rather boring race (except for the time I was racing with Adam, who was brilliant as a travel mate 👍 ; hard luck for you too) until the end.

It's too bad room broke after the race, so I do not even have the replay to analyse my race, just as I do every sunday.

Honestly, I can't put how mad I am today into words. And it's not just GT5 server's fault.

Nothing more to say about La Sarthe race for me. Moving onto Monaco.

Room broke??

I got DC'd after race.

The online is rendering this game useless for many. Someone at Sony should pay attention rather then sitting idle. Use the Plus money and our DLC money for new servers tight wads.

Speaking of Damaged. What happen after indy on lap two. I tucked in behind a car and skated through a pile up only to be completely run over damaging every section of my car. LAP FREAKING TWO. uggggh yea the game and racing we've gotten lately is flat ruining many people time.

Honestly working would be more rewarding at this point.

GV: It was me that ran in to your back.. Rock hard.. On the straight... Because of lag..

I'm really sorry mate. But your car was a good 3 car lenghts ahead.. And BOM!!
I was pretty pissed my self.. So had to do my stint with a damaged front as well..

Real sorry for all the guys who got DC'd and what not 👎

But on the otherhand, Dennis, all im saying is, you've caused some serious sweat patches, and there was literally no point in me battling at the end as I literally, had no tyres left. 1 stopper actually killed me. Went from running 3.53-55's to 4+ in a lap.

But fair play, congrats for the pole and win Dennis!

Had some really nice battles though, really nice. 👍

Will write up a report later if I get time.

Really sucks when you have the fastest car in D2, but because somebody hit you and gave you damage on lap 3, you're forced into taking an inferior strategy and end up finishing last because of spinning on bad tires.

Brosif wins, good for him, but I feel like I got robbed here.

Man the online with this game is exactly why come Spring I'll be iRacing.

Hopefully many of you guys make the venture over.

GT5 and Sony really need to fix the online experience. Right now it just ruins everything. I've been getting frame rate skip when certain cars around.

Last night was utterly perfect. No lag, no frame rate drops. Just clean.

Starting to not enjoy GT5's in consistent connection.

Edit: so after race I get DC'd no replay. I seriously losing my cool with this game.
It's the track.
So I'll leave it open what I suggest about that...I always blamed it on me being laggy before, but I'm no longer laggy, and a couple spots of the track, and with enough cars in sight on track, the frame rate goes to 🤬 on the day/night tracks.👎

Between that, and it adding insult by getting even worse at night, I'll probably skip Nurburgring. I just can't race with the screen doing that, it's just awful.

Edit: Sorry GV, I did it too, couldn't tell where the car was with the lag. :( It ruined my race initially too. I made some recovery out of it, but you saw how well that went.

I'm already on iRacing. I put it on hold to come race here because it's good people, but I'm honestly about one more random DC away from just calling it. I love you guys, but getting up at 4am to watch other people race is not my idea of a good time.

iRacing just works.

I can't say I blame you, and it seems a lot of us feel your pain.

Hopefully our update in 2 days fixes some issues like Spec II did. But better then even right after Spec II.
Far as I could tell it was pretty good for a while, till that server touching they did 2 weeks ago. Definitely inappropriate touching.

I'm not angry at particularly anybody. It's just I was looking forward to this race, and I wasn't even hoping to finish higher than 6th, but when you're 2nd and following the guy who's 1st at a relatively good speed and get hit once, it sucks. When you're hit a second time after having been to the pit 45 seconds before that, it's even worse and it destroys not only your chances of a good race but also your motivation. And that, when you still have more than 1 hour of race, sucks.

To be honest I was afraid of racing in groups since the first laps felt laggy, and I guessed the cause of the crashes would be the lag anyway. So I'm not blaming you guys. But this felt like **** today.

The only thing that bothered me was seeing Dennis overtaking me from the left when I was giving him space on the right. To me, left was pretty unnatural, so I was absolutely not expecting you there. Guess it was lag anyway.

Still, not blaming you guys. But after 1 lap and a half I was pretty hopeful and it all went to waste. And I didn't even make a single mistake until the end, and I'm positive it would not have happened if I hadn't been in the position I was in. I just had two bad weekends on a row; Monaco will be bad for my driving and Monza will not exactly be good for the car I'm driving, so it feels... just so bad.

If I'm honest I hate the way 90% of people drive at Le Sarthe. First 2 laps I was just driving in "damage control" mode, trying to avoid the inevitable crashes. Ended up getting nabbed by your lag in 3rd in pretty much the same sentiment as you. Missed last 2 races despite good pace, finally got this one and it looked bleak. I had great hopes halfway through lap 2.

But I made a couple bo-bo's after that too. Most notably it seems tires wear faster on the day/night track?
I ran with much more rubber left at the end of 11 laps in my first practice run then I had after 9 laps in this race.

I'm having negative thoughts for qualifying on a different track (hence practicing) then we race.
Also I'd really like to hear how many people experience the frame rate issues on the day/night tracks. I just can't imagine if you guys see what I do anyone enjoys it, so maybe it's just me and owens?

I can only apologise for my inability to drive today. A huge 'sorry' goes out to Dennis for ploughing into the back of him immediately after the start, just a complete brain fade on my part and clearly damaged you a lot aswell as myself :guilty: Just wanted to be black flagged at that point and I will accept a DQ for it too. Also didn't know how to proceed. Couldn't undo my error, so figured I'd continue and offer to be DQ'd later. I was so glad to see you battle back through for the win, congratulations Dennis! I then got more damage from Josh on lap 2 I think and pitted with a bunch early.

Made mistakes throughout, then to top it off I rear-ended my team mate later on aswell :ouch: Sorry Jeff, I misjudged the draft and closing speed, again damaging both cars.

One to forget for me and any penalty given will be gladly accepted.

Do you need send a replay file to a zipped folder if you want to upload it to a fileshare website?

I have experienced it before.. But I didn't today. Of course I was damaged early and didn't see too much traffic after that.

Congrats to Dennis for coming from damage and last place to win the race. Great Drive!

About the comments of traffic early on. Its almost as if a lot of people haven't raced on the track before. I got brake checked on the first turn which caused me damage, and then got hit from behind on the second turn.

Indeed.

Sorry aswell if you received any damage from one of my many limping back to the pits with damage journeys. :ouch:

Yeah.. I slowed a lot to get around you. I could tell you were having problems. Unfortunately you caught a spin right as I was about to go by, and I had no where to go.

Absolutely no worries though. Completely a racing incident. It wasn't too bad for me as I was within a couple laps of my pit window. Don't think it affected my race much. We were close to the pits when it happened too.

I had issues while I was driving alone down the back straight, but I think I'm particularly sensitive to it. I don't find it to be unique to the day/night tracks, although they are probably the worst offenders.

Thanks Adam. Much appreciated.

And I agree, CSL, that the general feeling is that people do not seem to be comfortable at this track. And when I've driven so much on it that I know everything about it, it hurts when bad things happen to you. *Sigh* can't be helped I guess. There's always something happening...

It's more just how close people like to push it. I had barely any practice all week myself, but since I was careful I avoided incidents other then 1 with you, which was just lag, and I missed some braking points and gassed it to hard a few times. But nothing to slow myself and another down.
I'll rephrase in a bit gotta go.

I'm always careful not to hit others, and I'm often hit. *cries in a corner*. And then I seem to come across as "whiny". Who knows, maybe I am.

Good job I stayed in the room... Div 1 PAL replay:

Awsome Adam!!
I was hoping you had something up your slewe when I got that PSN message from you.. 👍

My first PURE win.. Just need to have the replay.. cause it wont happen again.. Not at Monaco with 60 kg ballast..

Welsh: No problem at all mate.. It might seem like an easy appologize for me since I won.. But in all honesty, I got over it like 1 second after it happened.
I just kept on racing. I knew I had a good pace, and the race is looong.. This is the longest race I've ever done.. Was good fun. 👍

Was it just me, or did the night like never end??

I'll post a race report within a few hours.

12/13. Aderrrm or Neomone

GV: Yor not whining in my book.. I totally understand the frustration. I know you've been hit 3 times.. Aderrrm at Suzuka, and by me and CSL now at Sarthe. All of them are related to lag as far as I know.
So maybee it seems like you're experiance 1 thing, but what really is a big issue is when you lag. Like you said, you moved left, but I did to because I wantd to slip you a bit more before passing.. And BAM.. There was nothing I could do, really.. I do feel your frustration, and I feel for you mate..

What I mean specifically about Sarthe is people that insist on passing at every single opportunity, etc. For example if you pass me on the straight and I see that I have enough time to catch back about and enter side by side with you, and decide that's a good idea.

I don't mean people missing braking points, or generally being lost on the track, I mean how often people will piss away a full second going side by side because they couldn't just lift-throttle and save some gas right before entering the corner, they want to push for an extra .050.
I didn't see a lot of it in the race today, but I didn't see a lot of the race today, I'm sure it happened.

What actually really screwed me today was the pits, I'd ran 11 laps in practice fairly easily, and with sloppy driving in practice I figured it'd be no big deal come race time. Got damage on lap 2, pit in and decide a 2 stopper would easily be best now. 2 - 12 - 22 One less lap each stint then I'd planned. But by lap 10 my tires were all but dead, and before I pit on lap eleven I must have had 5 agonizingly slow slides in corner because the back rear was just gone. That's only 9 laps between pits. :(
Clearly I could for whatever reason not come close to a good 11 lapper, so I pretty much had to pit once more. My bigger mistake was not taking fuel on lap 2. So that divided my fuel a bit, and helped. But looking back at fuel, I realize no time is essentially lost in a 2 stopper here, because you need to sit there for so long getting fuel, the drive in is the only wasted time on pits here. (Because they start fueling at the same time they start changing tires, and fuel takes longer with the amount needed.)

I know at the least for next time, qualifying on a different version be damned, ALL my practice will be done on the actual track we're racing. If that makes my quali lap end up sucking for not being used to the differences, so be it.
Of course it's always possible they're the same and I just drove terribly today, because I did do that too. :P

EDIT: I think Tony used me to save tires too. That or his car was unbelievably slow. :scared:

Well for me I had a lot of fun this race. I love Sarthe at night!!!

First lap I experienced a lot of bad frame rates in the pack so I buttoned off a wee bit and raced conservatively just off the back the pack. Then it seemed I'd get a bad frame rate when I got close to another car so again I just took it easy. In the end perhaps a bit too easy for the first two stints but never mind.

I always enjoy watching the replays straight after the race. What actually captures me the most during replays is the formation lap. To see so many good fair play drivers doing 100km in formation and the engines are quite loud it just fascinates me. It builds tension seeing those cars restrained waiting to go hard out. Perhaps it's just me but I love it. So glad I'm here!!!

As for Monaco, I'm dreading it to be honest. I think it will challenge my skill level to the max. I'll see how I go but if I feel I'm becoming a hazard I'm parking it.

I got hit four times in total. Besides these two times in La Sarthe, I was hit by CSL in Nürburgring after my own mistake; I made a half-spin in the first hairpin and he could not avoid me. Racing incident, and if there's anyone to blame, that's me. But it still sucks. The issue with Adam in Suzuka was just a misunderstanding; not so much lag. Just a misunderstanding, and I'm cool with it 👍 . Still... sucks! I know I'll be hit as well in Monaco, but that's probably because of the nature of the track, too.

Seriously though, Dennis, don't worry about me. I mean I'm not complaining at anyone in particular. I'm just drowning in my own bad luck, that's all.

I have to do the WSGTC qualifier tomorrow or the day after... It'll go horrible, with my current mindset!! *Sigh*. I should really take a break for a few days.

I'm going to do some WSGTC Spec testing tonight, then probably a week off myself. Time for a vacation. :)

I expect to come back and run awesome at Monaco. :D Been getting some might fine times in other cars there, times I couldn't have considered 3 months ago.:mischievous:

Monaco to me will be the track where I'll find out for good whether I'm genuinely bad at twisty tracks or Nurburgring was a one-off.

GV I feel for ya I mean at one point you were as slow as me  now your right up there and you really do deserve some good luck to go with it.. :(.

Just keep at it like I do (I call it perseverance but others say im just stuburn )

I crashed today when I thought I had a chance for the win (Brosif and Aliens were 2 stopping and I led all of the first 11laps). My first 10lap stint went fine so I hoped with less fuel I and some conservative driving I could make the extra 2 laps but alas I never got to find out as on lap17 I went off at porsche curve and got engine damage (Also i thought it was going to work by lap 17 I had slightly over half tyres left..). Came out 26 seconds behind and just did quali laps from there to retake 3rd.

The Lexus I guess just couldnt win here the GTRs are quicker in the straights slightly and same pace through corners so I tried my best.
(My best lap was a 3:55.8 to share with anyone, I know Den was doing 3:50s :scared:)
