Made a bunch of mistakes so I can not complain over losing positions. But still I had forgotten the draft fest that Fuji is :(. Nothing really matters. Looking forward to Laguna, will be much better!

Got damaged in the rear on lap 4, not of my own doing. Rest of the race was spent by myself in last, until someone ran out of fuel on the last lap and I passed him just before the line.

meh. Caps off the week just perfectly. Needed more practice, but work and PD said no.

Had an absolutely amazing race. Tons of fun all the way around! Epic drivers make epic series!

If not for the crash lap 1 I rekon I had a safe 4th :(. Gained 6 secs in the last 10 laps on the leader.. Damn

I don't know if it was just the way I was driving, but I was getting terrible tire wear with the Supra. I wasn't putting the tires in the red or anything so I dunno. In the end I stood no chance because of it.

I guess I'm going to have to get crafty with my pit strategy in future races in order to make up for it... :sly:

Dr_Watson
considering it took 10 laps of slowly reeling in firework until finally catching him at the line on 44; I should have left it at 45. :sly:

GR 👍

Every lap, I could see you getting closer.
That was fun, well done to all involved. Great turnout . 👍

Had a really fun time tonight! One more lap and i might have taken first. Gained about 3 sec in one and a half lap.

And thanks for letting me drive on such a short notice :)

No doubt you will unlock the secret to that car. When you do. Be sure to share after the season. I got a feeling it's gonna shine next week anyway. ;)

Sorry, guys, but I'm calling it quits. I just can't put up with this dumb glitch where everyone disappears from my screen, and I end up getting a DNF. Apparently, it only appears if I'm racing more than an hour, which is when it hit.

Don't worry. I'll still be here as a steward, but I won't be racing anymore.

Happy with my race starting 16th and finishing 6th is pretty decent .

Lets hope i get qualifying better for Laguna

Great racing everyone

I'll explain my race as: Meh.

Wasn't thrilled to see myself starting at the back. Almost wish I had ran a slower qualifying run to make room B. (I may have too, as I qualified with wrong specs unknowingly) Anywho, Was doing fine, think I got up to 10th or something before I had a moment coming out of the long right hander and it took everything I had to save it. Dropped be back to 14th and I had to do it all over again. Realized by lap 18-ish that a 1-stopper in the Z was just not going to cut it and decided to pit.

Ran pretty much by myself for a while. Started catching Wardez who had pitted before me and made the decision to pit when he did. After that stop I ran my fastest laps of the race trying to run him down, which was probably a bad idea as my tires were shot at the end of the race. Just managed to knick him at the line for 9th.

The Z is a great car for as much as 8-10 laps, but after that it's total junk. Can't put the power down, you just watch people pull away from you on corner exit. I don't believe this has anything to do with setup, it's just how the car is. Not used to being a mid-packer, but this is a 5-10 place car at best so guess I'll deal with it. :indiff:

I think the only thing that kept you in the room for triplets @ madrid was that we were on fixed host. That time your car ended up parked on the track you would probably have gone invisible if we were in the cloud.
Instead you hung, then popped back up to p2 when your connection came back to life.

So instead of wanting a chance to be 9th, you'd sooner be 17th at best?

Strange...

Awesome race, even though I drove 95% or more without a car in range of draft, I was constantly in battle.
First half of the race the tail end of a 3 car pack eluded me in 5th, sometimes by less than a second or two, but mistakes by me left them stay ahead even they made them.
I decided to pit a bit early a few days ago, but wasn't sure how much to do it, on 21(20 race lap) I went in, which was just early enough to catch Josh_F, but he had fresher tires and I couldn't afford to push that hard to keep up.
The final long haul was done with Sail IC just on my radar, gaining and losing time back and forth, while watching Nige/Josh drive away a bit, and Nige predictably losing ground towards the end of his 26 lap stint.
Could have made a pass on Nige the final lap at the sector 2 mark, but thought I'd surely get enough of a run to get him at the finish... Whoops.

Well done all, great race through and through.

Had an alright race. Started 4th, pulled away with Josh and Welsh until around lap 14 when I decided to pit. Used the same strategy as Ed of pitting 14 and 29. Very debateable to know if it would of been quicker than doing a 1 stopper as my times seemed to drop pretty badly around lap 14 or so in itself.

Thought I would make some ground up after the second pit but only overtook Outlaw and caught up with Dennis having a really nice battle for 4-5 laps or so, but oh well, very nice racing and extremely glad for the season to be back and running!

Yeah Josh, good work. I was quickly reeling you and Dennis in toward the end because of all the battling side-by-side you all were doing. Awesome to see actually x).

I had a satisfactory race. Finished top ten, which is a feat in itself with this group. I guess I would've managed higher had I not opted for a two stop. car felt great in the draft with my tune though, so it was quite the enjoyable race with great side-by-side battles, three wide, draftfests, and all, but super clean. Never got an ounce of metal damaged. Driver of the race for me was definitely a close one between Tony and Dennis. Tony drove an unbelievable race in the HSV and really showed us its true potential and the fact that we have it at just the right balance. Looks like he achieved fastest lap as well, unless someone in D2 did better than a 1:35.558. Surprisingly cicua was the only other driver that creeped into the 35s during the race.

Dennis went from his quali. position to getting into a non-damage incident on lap 1 which sent him to the back. But he somehow managed to get up to 7th!
Amazing man haha, you always seem to pull off some crazy moves on the first round of the big series you take part in. Keep it up!

As always, if there are any incidents we should look into, just PM any of the stewards. Cheers guys, looking forward to racing on one of my favorite tracks for round 2.

Actually I'm going to make a nice race report too! There's no reason I can't do it, to be honest.

Race started nicely, with nothing strange on the first corner. Will was really close to me and tried overtaking me at the hairpin after second split during the first lap, but I could maintain the lead. I knew that with the poor speed the Supra carries on long straights, it made no sense for me to try and pull away, so when he overtook me thanks to a nice draft at the beginning of the second lap, I wasn't too worried, as it was expected. With him and Adven, we had an exciting three-wide into the first corner, with pretty much Will and me coming out of it side to side. Then I got disconnected.

PURE - 1st ever race - report.

Pre race nerves were setting in quite badly :nervous: , decided to "roll the dice" with a quick call to Harry Potter to see if he could make some magic happen. Judging by end result, I guess he didn't get the message or his wand was broke...

Things started looking up when I blagged a hot date with Litchi's girlfriend's mum and grandma (wooohooooo  ). Attempted psychological warfare on a starving Kevin, in vain attempt to grab a position on track, failed miserably when the race started and he left me for dead, driving off into the sunset :grumpy:

Wrecked by nerves, tentively started the race, just sitting in position trying not to do anything stooopid :scared:

All well and good at the start and turn 1  but this was shattered upon approach to turn 4 when an incident ahead meant serious evasive manoeuvres were required, of the kind only seen before when the rebel fleet realised the Death Star shields were still operational (Return of the Jedi) :embarrassed: :boggled:

Worst case scenario was now in full affect - being3rd person view meant I couldn't hear anything from my car, no RPM's, gearshifts...nuttin'. Plus I now got a load of faster guys behind :indiff:

Tried as best as I could to keep it clean, not make any mistakes and wait for some clean air when I could hear my car and get 'settled'.

25 laps later, I was finally settled.....

In between, a good battle with DA and a cheeky late pitstop saw me lead the race for all of 1/2 a lap - WOOOHOO, WOOOP WOOOP WOOOP WOOOP, read it and weep boys :D

Then reality kicked in as I fell back into 13th place coming out of the pits :grumpy:

But, at least I was in free air, could hear my car and got fresh tyres, knowing my late pit stop meant I could push the entire 2nd half of the race.

Managed to settle into consistent laps at quali pace or better, little battle with er..... um ....someone... and nearly stole a place on the last lap as the late pit stop served me well, when others were struggling.

Finshing 3 places above my starting postion, no spins, contact, crashes or damage. I think I gave someone a tiny love nudge at turn 1 when they took a wide line and I thought they were going to take the racing line to cut in to the apex.... but that was about it.

All in all, after a nightmare 1st stint, to finish clean and ahead of starting position - mission accomplished.

Off to my hot date with the entire female side of Litchi's girlfriend's family - wooop woooop

Pretty good race today, but one mistake cost me a chance of 2nd and nearly cost me the podium (well, that and Division 1 running 1 more lap than we should have ;)). Our 3 GTR's of Josh, Me and Josh couldn't hang with Tony, and as soon as we started to make a few moves on each other, he just continued to pull away. Josh_F made life really difficult as every time I'd make a pass, he'd fight me for it, costing us a lot of time, which also kept Joshua in the hunt too. Hard fought for so early on in the race and I was getting a bit concerned that Dom may catch on to us. When 'Young' Josh fought me hard for position (fairly) at the chicane, it also allowed 'Old' Josh through, putting me back to 4th and it seemed 'Old' Josh was starting to struggle for pace with his tyres, allowing 'Young' Josh to creep away. Once I got back to 3rd, I was able to slowly reel in 'Young' Josh, before taking my scheduled pit stop at the end of 19 (thinking I had 25 to do).

Strategy worked well and by the time the pit stops had been done, I had a healthy gap in 2nd, with Tony some 12s up the road. Josh with his better tyres was steadily gaining ground on me, but I was confident I'd still be able to fight with him, even with my older tyres. Sadly, I never got the chance, as a distraction from my GF caused me run wide on the run down to the chicane in the strangest of places, sending me into a spin, lightly tapping the wall and generating some minor rear suspension damage. I re-joined in 3rd, but it was a hard fight to minimize mistakes with 20+ lap old tyres and the damage and I could see Dom getting closer and closer. Thought he might try the pass into the chicane, but I guess he figured he'd hope to get the draft to the finish. Luckily for me, I was able to hold on to 3rd by 0.020s (as said before too, it would have hurt to have lost out there as the race should have finished a lap earlier) :D

Good job today guys and I'm looking forward to Laguna. :)

Results for D1 are up. 👍

All the results are up now. Standings are accurate. I need to sort something with the team points though. won't take long.

btw, who didn't race in D1 (only 15 on the results)?

Biffy disconnected around lap 14 I believe as well.

Also, Mich gave up around then too, parked it in the pits.

Skeng in 6th is missing.

Dennis, want to add him in?

---> I put in all the bonus points btw.

Congrats to Tony for starting off the season with maximum value on a clean sweep: pole, fast lap, victory. (+1, +2, +6)

You had a good weekend mate. 👍

Besides my negative remark on the drafting, I must say the racing around the track was absolutely class. So fast, and so clean. Wonderful.

I felt it wasn't a HSV track but on a race distance I seem to run nicely in it concidering my pace relative to others nearing the last 5+ laps of a stint.
