Isn't the white line at the end of the Mulsanne a road marking as well?Because those lines are clearly only for road use and it makes no sense to abide by them under any circumstance. It's just too weird being able to ride the curb but still have to worry about a line that's separated a full meter.
Well you don't want to just lower the rear spring, that'll make the car looser.DA6righthandThanks. I used a stable setup from your thread and it worked great at Laguna. Last time I raced a long one a La Sarthe (28 laps) the rear tires wore pretty quick. Guess that's why you lowered rear shocks some. What about spring? Should the rear get softened to help avoid bouncing?
Couple feet, but the point isn't really to "use" the extra tarmac, the point is whether we're talking about eliminating a section of real world track that is used or not. It's not like you'll be penalized for going outside if there's a need for space if you're not entering alone.
If you're alone in tve race, and during quali, that line should be respected imo.
If you got your right pair of wheels on the line, you're almost using the tarmac on the outside to max.. Almost..
cicuaBasse did a 53.1. So far a reasonable lap for me is a 55, maybe I can hit a high 54. Not looking good
Maybe there is the reason why I am no fan of Sarthe![]()
👍The marker at the end of the Mulsanne straight is definitely for the actual, temporary, course turn. Biggest thing pointing to this is the fact that the turn is at a roundabout in real life when it's not being used as a race track.

Maybe it's not, I don't know.

I did a mock run, getting a 3:54.8xx after getting a 53.572 earlier today. Admittedly, the setup I was had way too much understeer, but I'm guessing anything below a 54 flat while keeping it clean would've been a tall order. I wouldn't be surprised if the cutoff for D1 is about 3-5 seconds off the pole, which may end up being around 55-56, depending on how many flub their laps.
1. Are we doing the norm qualifying procedure - from sector 2?
2. Is Dennis a girl? (Because he acts and looks like one LOL)
Haha!
1. No, one warm up lap, and one whole flyer. Only one shot though (1lap).
2. Only girls go home at 11.30 PM when out drinking beer (or did you drink those girly pink drinks?).. But yeah, try to make it in to D1 for once and I'll show you..![]()
Haha good come back I'll give you that!
I don't need to try to get in D1 I just prefer racing "real men" in d2 lol. But yes I will try my best to get in d1 this week.
Dirty lap, for changing lanes/line too much. Here's the Sarthe lap guide video + bonus commentary by ME!. It shows a demonstration lap that's completely clean:
