Which wheel do you use?

Fanatec GT3 RS + Clubsport Pedals.

I like supporting the "boutique craftsman" companies. First wheel experience was with Act Labs gear (was a company like Fanatec only Canadian rather than German). In the middle I dipped my toe in the corporate giant pool with a DFP which made me get back out of that pool once I found Fanatec. :sly:

So its all about softening the rear end now

Not sure, I think this is subjective to what your setup is, rather than it being general.

BASSE's setup is very aggressive on the front end (making the rear look soft), but it seems as though alot of guys go for that here, liking the "pointy" feel it gives.

oh, so more realistic in terms of weight transfer being the primary concern with suspension setups. Does this get the game one step closer to finally eliminating that "tail dragging" nonsense with ride heights?

Interesting how "high" ride heights are still being favoured...

After 2.08, I found "slamming" a car helped, when pre 2.08 stock ride heights seemed to work really well - which reflected this ridiculous max front min rear setup "cheat/glitch" whatever you want to call it.

I started slamming my cars post 2.08 and found it had the same affect as 'raising' them pre 2.08..

Now 2.09 seems to be giving out far superior grip generally, raising seems to make sense, as a rear end too stable/planted would create understeer at the front, so raising it to "loosen" it would then 'free up' the front and help get rid of understeer.

Only problem, is that people have been talking about the rear grip, not sure what ride height they were using in the first place.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

One very strange 'thing' I've found, is that reversing roll bar settings (front / rear) seem to make the car feel better, which kinda goes against a general rule that worked for all cars - roll bars opposite strength of springs.

Seems to be alot of changes going on - biggest problem of all is that with all this extra grip, I think many different "types" of setup will "work" - making it even harder to know what is right or wrong, but then again, if it 'works' (for you), it probably doesn't it matter anymore (if it's 'right' or 'wrong')..??

All I know is trying to figure this out is giving me a monumental headache that I only ever experience when I accidentally hear Victoria Beckham singing.... well, that's what she calls it.. :yuck:

Ive always used negative ride height , only laguna i go positive

45.9 my best so far , just dont have the confidence here like others , havent had much time to practice this week ill have to spend saturday night and sunday getting my act together.

Thanks for the help so far Josh

Regarding specs, my laps went like this:
46.6 - HSV
46.3 - HSV
46.2 - Z
46.2 - HSV
45.8 - NSX(600PP)
45.8 - GT-R

I'm hoping that means the HSV gets a 45.8 next run as well. I should be running low 45's.

He left and promptly after, I did. So he sorta left the room to me. However I didn't even know the room was posted as I went through friend list. I usually quote that person that opened it and say closed.

All 6 cars tested.

Suzuka
10 lap
First, I tuned the car to my liking.
Then I hit the track.
Trying to be concistant instead of hotlapping Q-style.

The bulk of laps in the mid 58's.
Fastest: 1:57.9
Fuel: 33 liters
Tires: 80/75

HSV:
The bulk of laps in the mid 58's.
Fastest: 1:57.9
Fuel: 32 liters
Tires: 80/75

Z:
The bulk of laps in the mid 58's.
Fastest: 1:57.9
Fuel: 33 liters
Tires: 85/70

BANDAI:
The bulk of laps in the mid-high 58's.
Fastest: 1:58.0
Fuel: 34 liters
Tires: 80/75

SC430:
The bulk of laps in the mid 58's.
Fastest: 1:57.8
Fuel: 33 liters
Tires: 85/80

SUPRA:
The bulk of laps in the low-mid 58's.
Fastest: 1:57.8
Fuel: 34 liters
Tires: 80/75

According to these tests, the specs are good.

Note: I tested the Z with a higher rear and a tad lower front to even out the wear.
I did however not have the time to run those 10 laps again by the time I realized how much better it was.
I estimate, if I had run 10 laps, the wear would be around 80/75.

Great work, looks like we can go easy now, no need for a change.

I'm going to quali tomorrow afternoon (GMT).
Will be on from 10.00 AM (GMT), but first few hours will be dedicated to testing/practice/tuning.
Got some real life stuff to sort in between as well, so might not be ready to q before 15.00 PM (GMT).
I'd love if a steward could join my lobby tomorrow between 15.00-18.00 PM (GMT). 👍

Lots of updates for members of Pure that have been recently finalized.

There are now three types of Pure official:
Marshal - our eyes in the race and what used to be known as qualifying "stewards." They can report incidents they are not involved in. All officials above this position are also considered acting Marshals in that they can also run qualifying sessions.

Steward - only a select few number of members that will work with each other in order to investigate and settle matters of incidents during races, if a steward is involved in the incident the rest of us will make a new thread in which we will debate the details without them. They were chosen by experience and able dedication and the list can change at any time. Contact them or the Core members in order to follow up on your incidents during racing.

Core members - these are your administrators, have final say on all incidents (again, unless they're involved in one of them), and dedicate themselves to driving the future of Pure in its racing and its expansion. In JGTS we will be the rule makers, discipliners, and will be the ones responsible for completing all penalty reviews for a race and posting the summary for them in the main GTP thread.

New rule for marshaling qualifying:
Marshals must enter the qualifying time into the results sheet on the Pure mini-site as soon as possible after confirming the time. Then we are obligating all stewards to follow up the submission to the qualifying sheet by posting the driver and their time in the GTP thread.
And a reminder, always check both PP and power and weight before allowing a qualifying session to begin, and make sure the damage is set to heavy.

Someone needs to tell me how to put in Q results, please. :dunce:

Otherwise, I'll try to check the PURE site more often. You can send me a PM through here as well to get my attention. 👍

News is updated:

News -
11/8/12
Team and driver roster updated, Pure officials list updated:

Scanny_Flick, an old regular of Pure and WSGTC will be re-joining us at round 4 with the IMPUL MECHA Calsonic GT-R team taking the departing Aderrrm's place.
outlaw4rc's network connection may be more stable after the recent 2.09 update, so he is rejoining us, taking joshua1994's spot on team Yellowhat who is unable to participate regularly from now on, becoming a reserve driver.
Highlandor is joining team Xanavi, taking mania's (hellboyfr) spot. This leaves only two drivers for team Bandai for round 4.
HenryT is joining team Castrol Supra along with Hancock, both coming from team Bandai in order to fill in seats for GV27 and Mule, who are both becoming reserve drivers in the Supra for the time being.
nissman is also leaving team Bandai in order to join Denilson at team weider SHIMAI in order to level out team participation.
Biffy is switching from team weider SHIMAI to weider ITOKO.
maxking is joining the reserves list due to inactivity. If he does not contact Pure with reason by round 5 he will be excluded from the championship.

Heading to work now. Penalties along with a slight update to the Incident Penalty system will be posted later today/tonight/tomorrow morning.

Just log in (if you're always logged in, you might need to log out and then in again if your account was'nt approved for editing of Q results previously) to our racing site (the one with all the standings and Q times etc), click on the specific round (round 4: Monza).
And down to the left, there's a blue button/link that says "EDIT"
Just puch it and the back end will open up.
Then you just pick the driver in the menu.
Then add his time using this format: X:XX.XXX
And way to the right, there's a box for penalties if the submitted lap was dirty.
If the driver had one off, just type 0,5 (0,5% is our standard penalty %. However, that fighure can vary depending on track, like in the LaSarthe case, where one off was penalized with 0,2% due to the long lap).
If the lap was clean, ignore that box.

When you've done that, just press "submit" down right.

And don't forget to post the driver and time in this thread as well. 👍

As well a how to using apple mobile devices. ;)

I've got out the loop on entering times because I use mobile device 99% of the time.

Edit. Thanks Dennis. Seems that should work out fine in Mobile too.

Don't see an edit button on my end.

BTW, I reworked my connection settings to how it was during GT Academy. At the least, other people can enter my rooms. Whether the explodium's still around, though, guess I'll find out eventually.

Did you log out, and then in again?

If so, I guess you're either looking down left to the race results which you should'nt be able to edit (it can be easy to to mix the Q and race result up in the beginning). It should be down left to the Q sheet containing Litchis and Welsh-Bains Q times.

If you still can't see it, I guess Tim is about to set it up as we speak. 👍

Just don't use commas it was written by an American so you need a decimal point. ;)

btw, I haven't updated the racing security yet. hitting that now.

Huh, I went to see if I can edit times in and I too can't find the button to edit .

Outlaw4rc - 1:46.845 Clean
- 1:46.517 Clean (Fastest)
Two very smooth, conservative laps from me. There was no point matching my 45.65 in practice since that required cutting it way too close with the boundaries. That, and I'd rather be near the back in such a draft-happy track.

Thanks for letting me run a few laps in the lounge tonight CS, but you've got your work cut out for you...lol. The other dude that was there whose name I can't recall ran a 44.4 and I was a tenth behind.:sly: I was up a tenth a couple of times but bobbled it under pressure...:scared:

I only made a couple of small adjustments to the car and it was still a bit tight. 43's are definitely on the radar.
