I think there is no way we can expect that. PS4 is a little bit to weak to run this game in VR without any cuts. I would also love to see this it would justify buying PSVR for me, but i don't believe this. I think decent VR games will be on PS5 :(

I have a ps4 pro and it should be able to handle it the same way Driveclub or Dirt Rally does it! I know it's a tricky situation to find that balance between gameplay smoothness and graphics but I don't think the PS5 will be here anytime soon! Not before end of 2018 I think!

I think most of us will be OK if the game has support for PSVR on the PS4 pro only! Selling the ps4 and getting a pro isn't a big expense in my opinion! So we should expect anything! It's better than nothing!

I thought sony is blocking features ONLY on PS4Pro. They want to have both systems on similar level.
On the other hand... Driveclub with 8-12 cars on tracks, no dynamic weather (they ditch it from standard DC in VR version) and arcade simple physics. I think in Project Cars 2 there is far more going on to leave it in 120 FPS to run smoothly on VR even with graphics cuts.

Mmmm...
Driveclub VR was made apart with less cars on track, clear big downgrade, climate system token away, dynamic shadow rendering system token away...

Dirt rally is running on ego 3.0 engine that was from the PS3/360 gen...
Only one car on track (only half car rendered by the way) and details downgrade as the dirt trail in mirrors token away..
In Rallycross there's not a lot of AI cars on track also.

Assetto Corsa isn't in PSVR also and development team said that they are below there minimum requirements.

Gran Turismo Sport will only features 1 vs 1 offline race in selected tracks and cars....no full game in a Sony first party AAA..

The dev's can't make a PSVR compatibility "only on" the PS4 pro..
It has to be made available on standard PS4.
That was said by Sony.. The games has to be equal on both consoles and then PRo can have some extra in performance, details or resolution.

SMS already said they are working on PSVR and that for the moment it isn't going good...
They don't want to promise nothing because they don't want an other episode like when they finally got to say no to wiiU version of the first game.

For sure that it was too soon for a good VR support in PS4...
Líke The user said above, they've should been waiting to launch PSVR on the PS5...

Look to Bethesda also... They were talking about fallout 4 in VR...
Finally Fallout 4 will be in VR only in PC..
And for not letting the PSVR users alone they announced skyrim VR for PS4 users.... A game again like dirt rally with an ps3/360 era engine..

Maybe if sony allows to make VR compatibility on PS4 Pro only... More games would benefit from it an get compatibility...
But a lot of standard PS4 users with PSVR would be quite angry to spend even more money and that would make a division in the users... A thing that sony want to avoid since the announcement of PS4 Pro..

You make lots of valid points man and I know most of these! But I'm trying to "think out loud" here!
I mean why did sony in the first place announce PS4 pro?! What's the purpose of that console if it's not to benefit more from some stuff?! the small little benefits of FPS or a bit higher resolution isn't enough in my opinion!
Also don't forget that the PS4 is years old (~2013) while the pro is relatively (~2016) new ! You can't treat both as if they are the same! PS4 users wanna be mad/angry, let them be! I also paid more and got the newer Pro version for a reason! Treating me also like the same old PS4 user isn't also nice! We should look it from both sides!
I had the PS4, sold it, paid additional 200$ and got the PRO! So I'm not speaking ******** here, I'm just trying to think rationally!

PS4 Pro wasnt meant to be a new console but small upgrade. So sorry no new stuff. You already have better resolution/aa/framerate.

Well... I was thinking once of why they've made an intergen console as PS4 Pro??

And i start to think back in time..

Ps3 was launched in 2006, at 600€ price...
It had a blueray drive,HDMI and could go up to 1080p..
Meanwhile, most people at home still got old TV with SD and Scart cable, and some people started to have HDready TV...
Full HD TV's were really expensive..

Even then, people complained about the price of PS3...

PS4 (standard) was launched back in 2013... With still a huge global economy crisis on our heads...
There were already the first 4K TV at a very expensive price..
But they launched a console without 4K output.. (and the HDMI 1.3 mounted could allow an output ok 4K 30fps)

If they that year launch a console with the features of a PS4 Pro... It would priced again at 600€ or 700€.... Way to expensive in that moment when people was more looking towards saving money than spending..

So... Sony and Microsoft maybe where thinking... Lets make a new generation but a quite cheaper that allows to sell good and make a more powerful hardware once price drops and the global economy is recovering... And Will be more easy for some users make the change and for others buy the Pro.
But they want to maintain it as a PS4 and with all the games working with equal features and options on both consoles.

I really think that PS4 Pro and Xbox One X are the consoles that should been launched back in 2013/2014.

That are just my thoughts about what happened this generation..

The way I see it now, if pcars2 feels (physics, feedback, weight transfer) as good or even slightly behind automobilista, I may never play another racing sim again. And I'm talking if it is even in the same ballpark as automobilista. That game does it right.

I know I've asked about this before, but I'd like to hear more about the necessity of using harder compounds in warmer temperatures. Is it highly improved over PCars 1? I know it's being looked at, but we haven't heard about it in comparison to wets vs inters in drying conditions.

So many questions here that aren't being answered?
Come on man. Do you see any other racing developer here answering any questions? They don't have to do this. There will be some questions they can't answer, some they don't want to answer and some they may have just missed. Be thankful that they have answered any at all rather than questioning that they haven't answered all.

Yeah that's true. There's some great questions here that would be good to get an answer on that's all. :)

Have the rolling starts been improved? They felt very awkward in pCars1. It didn't feel like there was any advantage having pole position and on some circuits you'd get the green light in the middle of a corner.
Considering that there are manual warmup laps and rolling starts as well as manual pitting, that shouldn't be a problem no more.

Is the car going to magically spring back to life upon entry to the pitlane and start moving quickly after losing a wheel in an accident?
And is it still possible to fix a blown engine if you coast back to the pits, only to find that your car suddenly starts back up and goes to repair as if nothing happened?

Well they said repairs are more realistic this time around so i think they might implement a system to where like where IRacing has it where you have a blown engine you might get put into the pits (instantly) determining race time left or laps left and your car will be fixed and will be given a penalty or not penalty but some time loss in the pits then you will rejoin the pack. Not confirmed just a thought on how they might do it.

Right right and the cool down laps

you forgot cool down laps :)
As a side, race start mid corner, is usually grid and track position dependent in real life. But yeah, for most starts, the cars are in formation on the straights. As mentioned, controlling your car won't make this a problem.

We've seen in the Algarve video with the rolling start starting at the start line.
