I would never want this.
Time trail puts everyone on exactly the same rubbered in state of track and other conditions.
In a race you will probably be able to set faster laps due to drafting etc so this is completely unfair. Also the track conditions will be different for every single session there is so times would be worth nothing at all.

Personally i prefer my fastest time being recorded automatically for my own records in whatever condition race tt practice I really hated this in pcars 1 that there was no stats, in regards to a leaderboard i believe in restrictions.

In the loading of menus, I think I've seen the car's best laptimes for each circuit.

My favourite format is GT Open which is a timed race with a mandatory pit stop.
Just wondered why when you switch to a timed race you cant have a mandatory pit stop.
Is it for a technical reason?
Also I play mostly career mode so I'm hoping bug where AI pit before pit window when it rains, counting
as their mandatory pit stop has been fixed. This basically meant a stop/go penalty for you during pit window
while AI carried on.
Thanks in advance for any answers.

I wonder, is our racing license stored in the local profile on our PC, together with our racing stats? If so, what prevents people from deleting their profile, thereby resetting the license to the default rating (U1500 based on videos, whatever that means)? Seems like an easy way for people who like wrecking others in races to gain back rating if they will fall below that (as they surely will).

@IanBell Would you ever want a partnership with 'The Grand Tour' featuring their test track and maybe some episode inspired challenges? Similar to how Gran turismo and Forza have done in the past.

A really cool episode which Jermemy did years go on TG, he drove the old gen NSX around Laguna seca on Gran Turismo and then went around the track in real life to compare. He should re do that epsiode with Project cars 2 with VR and motion rig. :sly:

Yes, I second that idea. Jeremy's lap times differed significantly between real life and gran turismo. Want to see if his opinions changed with playing project cars 2 if it can get closest to real life

And this time, it could be rain or shine or snow, night, day, all the above combined or whatever. ;)

U is the lowest safety score and where everyone begins. If someone creates a new account/profile, they'll be "sent back" to U

Your safety score can only increase from U

Is there anywhere we can see more details on the system works?

This actually worries me a bit. I know in pCARS 1 there were times where people (myself included) had to delete their profile from HDD in order to resolve some bug. I was hoping that the new system would be tied to your PSN/XBOX/Steam ID and not stored locally. The fact that it goes down to U for a new profile is fine to prevent cheating, but could hurt people who have some major bug or HDD crash.

Will we be able to free roam the Mojave Test Track like in PC1 in practice mode?
From what I've seen we can definitely do this for the Mercedes Ice Track. It would also be cool if we could do the same at DirtFish like in DiRT4.

From what we've seen, no to Mojave and DirtFish, however, cool it is.

Thats dissapointing. Presumably there's a reason for dropping the test track as surely if we have the circuit layouts we could have the full test track!

@IanBell @The_American I have a really good question. It starts with RaceRoom Racing Experience. So I was trying to test drive some cars before I buy them, (stupid business model, never do that) and I was thinking that these cars sound FANTASTIC. Which they do. One problem, with all video games I've played, including R3E, they may have great sound but there is NEVER ANY BASS. All of these sound/audio menus in games have engine volume, but not bass. I have a really great set of headphones that put out loads of bass, and I think a slider in the future purely for FEELING the sound not just hearing it would be a fantastic addition.

This post of his is a great start for the tire stuff: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/thre...tember-22nd-2017.342814/page-65#post-11743103

Based on what Ian said there, more info should come in video form.
It would be a hella marketing move if SMS could get all that, and more, into an 8 or 10 minute video with the appropriate animations, perhaps narrated by Tommy Milner, Nic Hamilton and the Stig. A series of official videos covering the career mode, car and track selection and other game features would make for a great series. One a week for a month before release would send the hype train racing down the tracks at breakneck speed!

It would be excellent to have a concrete reference for what PCARS2 simulates instead of just bits and pieces from WMD members, our Q&A, promotional bullet points, interviews and previews, etc. Out of the things I'm aware of that are simulated or claimed to be simulated, there are too many details and probably more that will go unnoticed even by sim-racing veterans if there's no effort to collate and go over them officially.

I think this game has the right kind of audience to justify producing a video. Those of us on this side of the crowd would certainly appreciate the details. :) 👍

One thing, what happens in RL on a vehicle in regards to the front suspension around 100 mph is accurately simulated in the game.

To be honest I would think Mojave Full Test Track is dropped because that track is HUGE including the massive skid pad and that very wide outer ring track. The sheer volume of square meters is massive compared to other tracks and I think our platforms might not be able to handle Livetrack 3.0 in full action there.

The Mercedes Ice Track Full is in comparison much smaller and since it's an ice track (always ice surface, never any dirt or mud involved) it might run Livetrack 3.0 light (with a few layers removed).

Just my 2 cents and thoughts on why Mojave Full is out.
