I'm surprised no one's done that before in this thread. Looked up custom cars for a laugh on their local craigslist. (Probably because I have quite a bit of time...to kill.) It will be interesting to see what people have in their area.

Isn't this a fun game? :P Finding out these abominations that are actually in your area.

👍

Maybe because people who do tune their cars...(Properly?) know the word modified is a tad bit more...appropriate sounding? Don't know, but for me, those who don't really know much about cars and watch too much F&F use the word "custom," more often.

Medigo, you hit the nail in the wall with this. That's another way to tell between a enthusiast and who's a 🤬 wannabe.

Someone who takes their time a builds their car properly, ask for advice or assistance if needed and they don't act like they are in NFS or the F&F series-all tough guy or "gangsta" attitude when they finished with their project and call people "haters" because someone gave their opinion.

A real enthusiast does it for themselves, not to "fit in" or a "trend" style and look down on others who aren't following.

Look at Mark Arcenal from Fatlace, he brought the hellaflush look to the Japanese imports, him and others apperciate all kinds of modified cars and trucks out there regardless of form or function. And they themselves say it's getting out of hand as well because most of these dimwits who think they are the "real" enthusiasts go out there and do the most dumbest things to their car, ruining the car's physics and doing mindless crap just to fit in and get butthurt when a person calls them out on their stupidity. And the majority of these cars here are living proof.

And even Paul Walker, Vin Desel and the rest of the F&F crew are into cars themselves and they drive and race nicely done and unique cars in the movies and IRL.

In some ways, I kind of feel bad putting this trend up. Since this thread will be basically "spammed" with posts from craigslist. Some insanely questionable, some rather small idiotic mods. So I do apologize if I started this whole thing. :scared:

Was hoping that this would help people post REAL questionable mods rather than ones they found on google by typing something in... And it turning out to be an ever-so-obvious photoshop...

To be honest, I don't think modified's that appropriate either. Something about it also gives me that sense of...ricerness. Still prefer using the word: "Tuned."

But hey, finding hideous cars on craiglist or eBay is really funny though. So I don't think you are in the wrong Medigo, but I think we need to mix it with other findings.

Honestly, I'm okay with it. My father continually says "let's put chrome rims on the Hyundai!" I tell him "No. There's no way I'll ever be seen in a Hyundai car with chrome rims."

I've been around this stupidity MUCH more than most people. :ouch: :sly: I feel entitled to laugh, because I know that most kids probably hate their parents for putting "modifications" on their car.

I'm 18. I'm at the "ricer" age, it seems, but I still prefer having a stock looking car, with newer/sports suspension, nicer rubber, and clean lines (no body kits/paint/silly rims,) despite hearing about how much "street-cred" I'd get with a body kit on my cars. It pains me, being from that age group.

what a sad sad day. I love MR2's :( whats even worse is that the interior actually looks great for a 20 year old car. JDM tails to. Its saveable at least!

funny thing, the hood scoop on the front even though the engines in the rear.

That actually looks pretty awesome from the rear (spoiler notwithstanding).

And, if nothing else, it appears to be screwed together well on the front.

Yeah thats what I was thinking. Pretty much why I said its saveable. It's the turbo model as well.

Just get rid of the spoiler, the hood-scoop, and those two scoops on the rear roofline, then it'd actually look awesome...

Those two Scoops over the engine bay are actually functioning air intakes for the engine. I would also remove the kit as well, I never liked those sideskirts.

I think that MR2 looks great. The scoop looks a bit stupid because I'm aware that it's got a mid mounted engine however to the average person on the street it wouldn't look out of place.

Found this Cavalier.

Someone on my street has a Cavalier worse then this. I wanna try and get a few pictures of it

Someone on my street had a Cavalier with racing suspension and tires.

It wasn't bad, and I certainly liked it, until he put it up for sale, and I decided to actually look at it (to see if his price was reasonable.)

So, I looked at the tires; he was running incorrect camber, and was running a NASCAR-type oval. :yuck: The outside (right hand side) and inside (left hand side) of all four tyres were blistered. He still owns it, apparently, and is still trying to sell it (three years later.)

Tip to modders (people who modify cars): do it correctly, or don't do it.

o.O

Anyway, this was a Toyota Sera:

My best friend owned one of these, (the unmodified one) and his biological father put aftermarket 15" rims, in place of the hubcaps, though the 15" rims were not at all fancy. This made it look nice.

I'll admit, even, that the headlights are nice, but, ugh, the rest is horrible.

I like the Veyron's vinyl/livery. The side and rear really do look cool and it's real art:

bugarti-veyron-5.jpg

It's probably the most interesting thing that anyone has done to the Veyron (minus disgusting chrome/matte wraps) and I like it.

Guess it could be a marmite thing though, didn't think how anyone could be made sick by looking at it. :P

I dislike it's nickname. Bugarti? 👎

And the silly logo stamped with the silly name; an orange stripe would of looked better.

Oh and Supersport orange rims would of suited too.

The Sera is just:

All I have to say is....... BWAHAHAHAHA!!!!!👍

Fast and The Furious and NFS Underground have combined as one, in this Cavalier .

True. People need to get that in their heads before doing any work on their cars. If you have problems, ask someone who knows. Take your time and research.

The best show and/or go cars took months, years of hard work putting a car or more to it fullest splendor. Yeah, some people will show their project's "beta" side at a car show or two, but they want to show their work in progress, that I don't mind and it's cool that they are showing their work for everyone to witness and even listen to ideas from others. But they do their best performance and properly finish the car.

So to these mindless 🤬 who take one day finishing their cars and thinking they are going to be in a magazine or a website and get girls and throphies...... Do it correctly.

Ugh, I think I want to puke my stomach up and organs. :ill:

Someone needs a RPG-7 to take this poor car out?

:ill::yuck:

WTF?!?! At the Veyron?! It would look good if only they use a darker, but not a very light blue, like that. Because the artwork dosent fit this, it's a bad sight with the Gulf like Blue. :ill:

RocZX
Both Sera and Veyron

I fully agree with this. However, I don't think I'd ever want my car to be in a magazine, unless it read "This year's 24h of the Nürburgring winner is MrM!" or "The new Sebastian Vettel; MrM!"

I don't want other people to see my car. In fact, I want to be too far ahead of everyone, for them to see my car. Being in a magazine... I wouldn't decline the chance, but, nor would I go out of my way to be famous.

Yeah, I don't mind having my car being in a magazine. There's been alot of stories about how other enthusiasts put their time and patience into their car and hearing their trials they went through and giving up other hobbys or pastimes to finish their car. These are truly inspiring and make you want to pursure yours. But they aren't there for the fame and being the utlimate street racer .

The retarded idea of being famous because you won a trophy or in a magazine is from the wannabes who either played too much NFS, watching too much Fast and The Furious or both and came up with this strange "theroy". After they finished their "masterpiece", they'll go to shows or try to get into a magazine. But they always get owned by real enthusiasts and people with taste; which they call "haters" and then later you can find their "art" on eBay motors or craiglist sometimes or finding them to go even harder.

Hmmmm, I'm not that type at all, then. People rarely seem to mod their cars to "look" cool, it seems, where I am. It seems more like everyone wants to make them faster, for the 'Ring and stuff. No one really cares about how their cars look. Like, the guy with the '90s Civic hatch, flat black, nothing too much, on the outside, but a good enough roll cage to make it faster than Corvettes etc., on an Autocross track.

Sounds much better than the U.S. Where it's ALL about looks...
