That's possible. But, that suspension wouldn't be the greatest on streets, either. If it's mainly meant just to be a drag racer, and the guy drives perfectly straight, on his way to the drag strip, then maybe it's okay. But, seeing tread on that worries me.

When I said that, I meant "putting all-seasons or something on a drag car is wrong. Do it right. Complete the look."

I haven't even been on the Conti tires yet (go home, snow, you've extended your welcome long enough,) but, I think they'll look nice regardless.

And, a small bulge is okay. Most drag cars have a small bulge in the tires (from running like 6 psi ,) but, tread + bulge + alignment + car show = "I didn't know what I wanted to do with this car. Is it a daily driver? Is it a drag car? Is it a show car? It can't do all of them right, but, it can't do any of them, right, either."

I still don't like it.

I'm not arguing that. It just doesn't look like it knows what it's doing. That's all I'm saying.

It's like Boxy; likes to switch itself and its topics a lot, and confuse me.

I just want to clarify. I'm positive I've seen more cars set up for drag racing than anyone on this board, I've been working the water box at Bradenton Motorsports Park for a year and a half.

The only cars that run slicks all around are dragsters, with the like 2" wide fronts, or Outlaw Pro Mod/Open Outlaw and faster. The fastest of the fast. Everything else runs M/T ET Front, Moroso DS-2, and more common than all that, whatever the cheapest street tire that comes close to being high enough rated for speed. Look up the X275 class, those cars run 4.80-5.20 1/8th mile passes, and half the turbo fox bodies are running Nexen tires. Nexen ain't exactly the pinnacle of tire... but they get regular use on cars breaking 150-160mph in an eighth mile.

Moral of the story - Don't knock it until you know what's up. Bet you probably think drag radials are cheap and serve no purpose too, cause they're clearly a compromise so no one should use them

This is the true pinnacle of embarassment. Not only is it a poorer-than-poor replica of a legendary beast, but it has A STEREO IN THE BACK. as if that is needed.

Here is a lovely description by the owner:

Just to clarify, some have been around Drag Racing longer than you have been alive.:P:D

Add yes some very(scary) fast cars run drag radials, with street tires in front. There are drag radial classes here in the U.S that run well into the 6's @ over 200 MPH quarter mile .👍 True slicks, are more becoming mainly used on rail dragsters.

Awesome.

Those are awesome. Whenever someone over here complains about lack of traction with Drag Radials or even ET Streets, I always send out videos or articles about those things. We all then come to the conclussion that tracks here just suck and are not properly prepared.

Yea but those guys are using some serious technology to get a little 275 to grab on some of the best prepared tracks in the country, and most of those cars are at least back-half tube chassis cars with 4 links. Most people use slick because it is much easier and cheaper to set up. Even here there are very few tracks that are prepared like the videos that you see so everyone just uses slicks.

Some time has passed since the last time I've posted in this thread and since then, Craigslist's waterfalls of questionable cars have been replenished. Oh boy. :dopey:

To start with, there's the inevitable S-10 or Sonoma.

If you changed the rims on that S-10 and actually painted it, it would be pretty good. That thing can 3-wheel pretty awesome.

Maybe I'm just a little miffed that it's got a WRX hood when it's only an RX :D Those pink fibreglass bits in the interior aren't that great to me though, especially since they're only brightening up a teeny bit of an expansive sea of grey interior. To each their own I guess.

Why would someone do that to an 8-Series... :yuck: One of BMW's best looking cars ever made...

Fiat Barchetta frontlights on an 8-series? At least an original idea but poorly executed.
As for the 8-series being beautiful, I've heard it being described as the rich man's Ford Probe once which I thought was quite fitting.

Ford Probe. Piece of poop.
BMW 8 series. Fancy piece of poop?

Why?
