Are there also mod bots?
Let's put it like this: how do you think Famine knows everything?

On average, how many people are banned a/per year?
It waxes and wanes - we tend to get lots of bannings around the time a new GT title is released, but it quiets down after a while. However, the online component has meant that the average number of bans has gone up a little.

Is every mod equally active >> moderating? Or are there a few overachievers amongst the mods?

:D

Not sure who/what "Death Note" is, but the task of shredding all the printed backup copies of past users' posts, and subsequently plucking out all the staples, was quite the nuisance. In the interests of saving some of Jordan's administrative costs, we would repurpose users' folders for the next new member. The aluminum staples and break-room soda/beer cans would be harvested for Lotus monocoque construction and preservation efforts.

GTPlanet: just like most jobs.

I could only imagine what Jordan goes through.
What @TB mentioned happens a lot (just today, for example, I've had "likes" on posts from 2003 and 2006) - there seems to be a surprising number of people looking through very old threads around here, liking posts which were made before some of them were even born. I actually turned off alerts on likes so I don't miss other notifications.

GTPlanet is our bible.

Is permission from an admin required to dish out a permaban on a user?

Nope. An Admin, or just about any other Super Moderator, can reverse a ban, however, if they feel the last infraction given was unwarranted.

Hasn't happened yet. Given how much leash we tend to give people, people who finally get banned tend to deserve it.

Jordan ran into some licensing issues with Nintendo. Since we all refused to appear in the latest Smash Bros, we couldn't keep using the Super tag.

:(
So no Moderator 64/Cube/U?

And you can't swing the banhammer at Link? A shame.

A bit of question. Can mods read private conversation? And can we break some rules (like proper spelling etc as long as it isnt a form of harrasment) considering said people who joined the conversation already know and expected.

Unless Jordan has modified the code, I don't think private conversations can be seen by mods unless a post in it is reported, and even then, they can only see that particular post.

Is it taking place on the site? Then it's expected to follow the AUP.
