now i'll be the first to admit i suck ass in paint shop pro (this is the first image i've ever edited...lol). so bear in mind if i painted it with these colors, it would look much better IRL. and the red would be a deeper shade. but this is basically wut it would look like. i like it :cheeburga

looking at it now, i think i would do the colors exactly oposite from wut i did to the pic. i.e. red would be black and black would be red. yea, i like that better.

LOL!! i guess i'll be real cautious when driving over 10MPH :) But no, i havn't run it yet. mainly because i didn't have a charger (hehe), but even if i did, i wouldn't have run it untill i got a replacement/backup bodyshell. I ordered a MRC Superbrain 959, so after i get that, imay be extremly tempted. but i don't want to risk smashing up the body and not being able to replace it. as for the speed control, if im loking at the right thing, its like a silicon disc with plastic screwed on and a metal arm attached to somfin else. so that sounds machinical to me...or am i in the wrong spot?

That'll be a mechanical one. You need an electronic one which is a small plastic box with wires coming out. As for running it, you should be fine, if you put either of those two motors you have in it should be fairly controlable. Just run it is a big flat car park slowly and you'll be fine, the body is pretty tough:D

'Fraid not, they are for a touring car, you are looking for 1/10th Pan car wheels. I would post the part number, but I seem to have lost my old parts list!

HPI Micro RS4 Kit w/Viper GTS-R Body needs a very smooth surface and is too small to run properly outside

HPI Dash RTR w/Lamborghini Body Is very slow and very basic

Tamiya Ferrari 360 Modena Looks really nice but is more of a race car than a car for thrashing if TA-04. If TL-01 just right for what you want to do and if you fancy building the car

Kyosho Corvette RTR w/Battery/Charger Good value and nice to drive, just right for playing. Excellent for what it seems you want to do

Tamiya Corvette C5-R TA04 Sports A racing car, a bitt OTT for playing in car parks, also expensive for what it is

Tamiya Mercedes CLK-GTR Again a bit OTT if TA03, if TL-01 about right

Tamiya 4WD Raybrig NSX 2000 A bit OTT for playing

I would be looking at the Tamiya TL-01 or Kyosho Alpha EP RTR (Corvette in this case) if you are looking for something to thrash around in a car park, possibly against others. They are both upgradable and very strong. Do you want to build the car (go for tamiya) or do you want to just pull it out the box and play (go for kyosho)? Unfortunatly, no one does a Zonda yet though

yea, i pretty much had the same feelings about the kits as wut you recommend. But it just keeps eating at me how much bang for the buck you get with the Raybrig. lots of nice hop-ups already on it. and everything that i need to purchase to run it, i already have. tough choice. i'm caught up between the Raybrig,Merc CLK-GTR,Kyosh Vette. Too bad about the Zonda, that would have settled my dilemma real quick 😈

So what chassis is the CLK GTR? Is the Raybrig NSX a TB-01? If so then it is worth getting if you want the extra features it has:)

CLK GTR is TA03 (front mounted motor) so i don't think i will go for that kit as it prolly understeers a bit. but it does look sweet. i can always pick up the shell though. :D as for the Raybrig.... its the TB01 and it's at a $149.99. is that a rip off? or basic price?

Looks good, it is a much better car than the TL-01 and has more upgrades although it will be a bit more challenging to build. If you are going to run it a lot though I would look into buying the listed bearing kit as the car will run freer and will also not wear the shafts as much. The price is about right for the car, Tower Hobbies seems to be about the same if not cheaper than other American hobby stores I have seen advertised. The CLK GTR is mid motor but is and older design than the NSX so I wouldn't go with that. You first shell will probably get wrecked pretty quickly anyway!:D

i got the MRC 959 SuperBrain Fri. Took long enough to get here, but i finally have it :D It looks so small in the pics and when i pulled it out  man that thing is huge! So anyway...i resisted temptation all weekend (well almost) and finally Sat. night i broke down and charged up the 787's battery. after it was done, i turned it on and switched on the AirTronics Rival Sport. I heard a twitch in the car and knew all was good :)

So i then started messing with the trim controls as i didn't really know wut they did. I figured they adjusted the sensitivity of steering and gas/brake. Well needless to say i found out REAL fast wut they did. I messed with the throttle one first and next thing i know my car goes speeding backwards (this is all in the house, on hardwood floor)! luckily i dialed it back and the car stoped right before it crashed into my entertainment center. Then i messed with the other dial and noticed i could center the steering with it (kewl!).

So feeling quite ready i hit the gas...OMG!! the speed! i was goin nutz! chasin it all over the house (well tryin to keep up with it LOL!) i got some awesome powerslides out of it (thanx to the hardwood floors) and i did like 10 peelouts. man i had a blast. Then i knew wut i had to do next,go outside!! But it was still wet from the rain and i was all bummed out :( I decided i should prolly put it away before i smash it (or something in the house) as i almost crashed twice (the first time with the trim control and the second while driveing nutz...i stoped it with my foot  ) any doubts i had about this r/c stuff being major fun was put to rest right then and there. i am DEFINETLY gonna buy the NSX. now all i gotta do is find a local track and woop some ass! 😈

Oh, i was suprised how at home i felt driving it. If it wasn't for the hardwood floors i would have had no problems at all. But it was sliding alot and the only way i could stop it was to gas reverse or forward depending on which way i was going. I think GT3 prepared me for this stuff :D

The controls can be real sensitive on those. Last time I tried running a car in the house quickly I ended up with black marks on the floor from where I got wheelspin! In terms of finding a track, R/C magazines may very well list tracks so you can find one near you. Tell me how you get on when you take it outside though, I found you have to be quite cautious when you accelerate as the car will spin very easily. I was running a faster motor though:D

Oh my. Yes you are absolutely correct. I finally took it out yesterday. The street had some pebles on it and a few dips here and there, but i left em there. I wanted a bit of an obstacle course :) Well, i found out just how sensitive the steering is. I was weaving everywhere, tremendous oversteer. I finally got the hang of the steering and i felt confident, so i decided to drag 😈 well that ended real quick. I peeled out on some gravel and the thing took off fast as hell. It went flying down the block and i figured i better turn it around before i can't see it anymore...
Then i pulled a super stupid move and turned hard without braking...
needless to say i spun out in typical GT3 fashion ;)
When i finally recovered control i turned it around and headed back. ZOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!! it was speeding at me and i was having so much fun i didn't see the dip in the street and then WAMMMM!!! it went flying into the air and for a second i thought i felt my heart hit the floor. Luckily for me it landed on its hind wheels and continued on its merry way. I stoped it in front of me and decided i best go inside. I don't think i will run it again unless i find a nice smooth peble free area. maybe a basketball court or a nice big parking lot. definetly gotta find a track though :ghost:

Wherever you run it has to be smooth! If it isn't and you are going fast enough the car will do an impression of the Mercedes CLR at Lemans. Up and over!

Yay! I just got my R/C car working again! I've got a Kyosho GP LandMax with a Subaru Impreza body. I crashed it heavily in a nasty out-of-range incident, and this evening I got it going again!

Just wanted to tell someone!

No, they have a gyro scope and they stay up just like a real one. They arevry fast and hard to learn. It is VERY loud as well. Its cool to drive! :D

sweet. they use electric engines also? or only nitro/wutever?
also, is there a driver on the bike? does he lean into the turns? or its just the gyroscope doing everything?

How does the Landmax go then Giles? I take it from the comment about the noise the bike is nitro then Simon:D You got any pictures of it? What size engine is it running? I'm going to have to find some time to work on some of my R/C cars. I have an old Tamiya Avante which I want to start restoring as well as a Nissan R390 GT1 shell to spray. My race car also needs a shell done (Dodge Stratus, boring but it was £3.00 so I can't grumble, lol) as well as a BMW M3 GTR for someone else. I may also have some bits on Monday for a Monster Beetle I have and I have to get my rallycar ready for offroad racing!

OK, my Mercedes CLK-GTR just wrecked! The steering is screwd. The car will go but ont turn! I need help on how to put the steering back together, its apart but not broke. I just need like a regular picture or something of the steering. Thanks!

Oh, it's WAYYY too fast for me!! Needs some work on the mixture, and there's a bolt missing from the front suspension, which is causing tracking "issues", but it runs, and it's running well at the moment. I'm thinking about getting some harder springs for it, to try and make it turn a bit better, but then I should perhaps concentrate on learning to drive it without crashing first!!

And I haven't finished my project to mount the antenna on the rear body post yet either.

Ace to have it going again though!
