Its not poor imo. Its easy to pick up and it can be fun. Thats the goal of the game not something most will turn away from because of the difficulty. Its fast and it can get crazy online. And it handles better than any NFS game including Pro Street which i own plus Carbon and Most wanted.

Maybe the last one did not sell well and they need something new to gain attention. A good reason why its not called Race Driver 4. Maybe you should give it more play tie and try all three challenges. Or perhaps your standards are too high i dunno.

if u play this game with the Sixaxis, its fine, but with the G25 its just down right ridiculous.

Really, since when am I good enough to win 2 out of every 3 races?

I've been doing it all night and most of the week, never having to punt anybody (even though I've won after being punted), this game is a tad too easy online now, it seems, or I'm just really that good, which I'm thinking not, because I'm never good at racing games, took me a year to get to 50% on GT4...

Chris.

@V1P3R

That clip has been posted many times before on other threads. ;)

The G25 is perfect to play this game. You just have to find the right settings for it in the options!

What a POS grid is. perhaps the worst racing game on the ps3.
I dare you, what is worst?
The FMV looked great, I'll give them props for that. Maybe they should just release a video instead of a game!
Sad thing is, it will still sell lots of copies and ignorant people will still have a gay old time with it!

I'm hoping they have voice chat, because there have been quite a few times I wanted to say "Sorry, I guess I overestimated my braking skills" then drive off into the distance :dopey:

And I hope that they do like SOCOM 3 and have (if you are wearing a headset in single-player) the radio communications over your headset, which would be truly realistic if you had a cockpit set-up.

Chris.

I am not sure why you keep asking about voice chat. When I played the 360 version of the demo I was talking with other players online. Are you saying you cant chat online with the PS3 version? That would suck.

Hey plenty of ignorant people on this forum will be having a "gay old time" with Grid as for whats worse? not alot of racing games to chose from on the PS3 but I'd hazard a guese at all but GT5p but saying that it's all about personal tastes :dunce:

Anyone have any good settings for the DFP, I can't get mine to play well at all with GRID so I've been using the pad. I will buy this, it would have benefitted form more realistic physics a hell of a lot imo though.

This information was just posted on the Forzacentral.com site from Codemasters. GRID just went from a rental to a must buy. This is some great information. :dopey:

Wednesday, 14th May – Reflecting the ethos, spirit and attitude of the offline game, Race Driver: GRID will bring a world of motorsport to life online as Codemasters® today announced that the game's multiplayer content will feature 32 exhilarating online race events on 80 circuits at 15 intercontinental locations.

Featuring up to 12-player events with incredible full car damage, Race Driver: GRID's online multiplayer races will see gamers competing in aggressive races on iconic city streets and famous championship circuits across Europe, the U.S. and Japan.

"Race Driver: GRID online is the ultimate expression of what the game is all about – incident-packed, aggressive, wheel-to-wheel racing," said Ralph Fulton, Chief Game Designer, Race Driver: GRID. "Our wide range of motorsport disciplines, stunning locations and full damage 12-player races make for a uniquely spectacular race experience and our immersive new ranking system rewards player skill and deepens the challenge online."

Players will be able to take their custom livery online and make it feared and respected by competing in a huge range of racing disciplines; from drifting around Yokohama Docks, charging through the mean streets of Detroit, racing touring cars around Spa-Francorchamps to competing in chaotic demolition derbies.

The pure race experience is at the heart of Race Driver GRID's gameplay and, in online multiplayer, everything is geared towards maximising player time spent on track and minimising time spent in lobbies. Players can rapidly find the event they want and a slick voting system, matchmaking mechanism and seamless host migration means gamers find competitive races quickly and sessions stay together longer.

An innovative new online ranking system charts players' progress as they advance from Junior Rookie to Legend, with experience points being awarded based on a wide range of achievements, from events won to beating higher ranked opponents.

As players rise through the rankings, online leaderboards record the fastest laps for each track and gamers can download ghost cars to test out their skill against the best in the world in Test Drive mode or check out the competition in Spectator mode. Players can also fully customise their game including switching damage on or off, enabling catch-up mode, setting driver aids and allowing public and private games.

Race Driver: GRID is coming May 30th (Europe/PAL) for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft®, the PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system and Games For Windows®. A Nintendo DS™ edition will follow. Race Driver: GRID playable demos – featuring two online multiplayer events – are now available from Xbox LIVE® Marketplace, PLAYSTATION®Network and, for the Games For Windows demo, please visit www.racedrivergrid.com.

Did anyone else notice how much they pushed the Microsoft products and that instead of "PC" they call it the "Games for Windows" as a platform?

I can't wait to see the livery editor, hopefully it will be a lot like Rock Band's system, as that was great.

So if you see the guy with Beatles lyrics (hopefully) painted across his car, that'll be me.

Chris.

I also hope it works well but if you ever played Forza 2 you have seen THE best livery editor out there for any game. You could make anything you want and you could put up to 4,100 vinyls on each car then save the vinyls to put onto other cars. People made anything you could possibly imagine. It was insane how much you could customize in Forza 2. Hopefully this livery editor is at least decent compared to Forza 2.

great news about the private rooms! Quick one on the ediyor! From previous interviews and IGN hands on previews, don't expect a livery editor! I know it says theres customliverys in that quopte (you'll find it word for word on IGN as well) what it means is you pick your teams colour scheme, this is then used on all your cars. You then win sponsor ship deals there logos (upto 8) can be placed on your car where you feel fit, with more prominent size and position earning you more sponsor cash! So no pictures of manga babes plastered all over your DB9 (thak god) just individual proper race schemes individualy desighned by yourself

Ok thats exaclty how I thought it was going to be. I new there was no way it could have the vinyl editor even close to Forza 2. Doesnt bother me. If I want to make some designs I will make them in forza 2.

The editor on F2is quite stunning and I spent some time playing with it, but I don't think it would suit Grid all that well, you really wouldn't get to see the desighns too much, the race schemes work for me as it keeps it looking real but still gives you the chance of individuality, 8 sponsor logos and an overal colour sceme sounds good, Should be interesting to see how much freedom you do have in the layout.

Where did NFS come into it? NFS has a huge selection of decals but your right, the editor is so slow and there is no organisation or quck way to search through the decals it's a nightmare to use.

Ignorant? By your logic that gives these so called ignorant people an advantage over you by being able to enjoy the game. Can you convince a child that the ice cream they are eating and enjoying is not as good as it seems?

How is it ignorant to enjoy it? If you enjoy it you enjoy it. The game will no doubt sell, and I will buy it. Not because I don't like it, nor because I think it's better than GT5:P, because I don't. But I have enjoyed the demo to a large enough extent that I believe I will enjoy the full game enough to fork out £40.

So, once again, what is ignorant about someone enjoying something for what it is?

is disappointing to think how much better this game could be though. could of been the GTR2 of consoles if codies cared enough

I didn't watch the video actually, I just thought it was the same one I saw the pictures of on Gamespot the other day, so I have no experience with it, but if it does turn out as slow as the NFS one, I won't use it.

EDiT (see what I did thar?): @ The above post, Well, I'm not trying to pressure you or anything, but a lot of people claimed that the more they played it, the better it seemed to get, and have you tried racing with some or all of the assists off? It's a lot more fun that way.

Finally managed to upload a video of me drifting onto Youtube.....

Doh' made a mistake with the video. Going to remove it from Youtube.

bad luck speedster......shout up when you get it sorted, I'm really getting into the drifting and would be good to see what lines your taking

what was the point of this post?

What was the point in saying that?

I simply made a post firstly including a video of drifting from Race Driver Grid in. However, I removed it as when I watched it on Youtube I noticed that at the end of the race where it showed the score it also showed my full name. Personally, I'm not willing to share my last name amongst a forum even if its the best forum I've been to. So I edited it out of my post and shortly afterwards removed the video.

Hereward Will do, shouldn't take much fiddling about to sort it out. I'm not the best drifter in the world but I managed to get about 1,950,000 points from the run.

Edit Well, the video is now uploaded and live on Youtube.

Constructive criticism is welcome. 👍

Its funny that i can drift away in games like the GT series but in games with a "drift mode" in them i can't drift well to save my life. Have made a good bit of video's for GT3, some are my sig. The only games that i could that had it was NFSC and HIN2. HIN2 was actually a fun game if you ignored all of the ridiculous ricer things and also if you enjoy an arcade now and then. You could just drift back and forth forever, could also race people for pink slips. I liked the racing for pink slips part, that was good at times....and bad at times.
