I'm fine with having 10000g success ballast from the start. That is, if I get 10000 points in the move :sly:

Nah, should only come into play after round 1, really. And not something like 50 kilo for a victory

I'm curious as to what will happen if, for some reason, a driver doesn't show for a race? Do(es) (t)he(y) receive last place weight reductions?

10kg? That's not much, isn't it? :D

+1 👍

I suppose that, yes. ;)

At the moment it seem that i wouldn't run ITCC this season.

Awwww... :( Any reason why not?

Also, guys, preseason testing is for preseason testing. The success ballast won't transfer into the actual season, but I want to test it during preseason and then everyone can start fresh in the full season.

Otherwise, I could also put it to a vote to see who wants success ballast and who doesn't.

Test in 20 minutes.

In response to success ballast, the question really is:

Do we want a clear Vettel taking the title with half a season to go, or would we want something along the lines of the 2007 (iirc) WTCC, with 6 drivers still having a mathematical chance of becoming champion, going into the last race week? Not a difficult decision :)

No one wants Vettels, that's for sure... :D

Come on, it's ITCC... The first one will almost always happen. @jammy21, that's why you should join... So that @gtpcaine, @GTracer98, @rallymorten and I can't take off with it... Though I doubt we would.

Or do we want to punish people for being fast? A Vettel won't happen if the cars are equal. The championship becomes more about who strategizes the success ballast the best rather than who's the fastest and most-consistent driver

*sigh* it's impossible to make a point in this thread

What I mean is, success ballast *slows* the *fast* drivers, and gives the *slow* drivers a chance to actually score some points. That can't be bad, can it? Besides, this is touring car racing, and those are meant to be *close* (I'm not talking about demolition derby close, mind you) :sly:

Sometimes, mate, sometimes it does happen... :D

Or the slow drivers can practice more so they'll be as good as the fast drivers assuming the specs are equal. That's punishing hard work and rewarding laziness

Braun's not here right now, can I take a message for him?

In previous seasons, the racing has been close despite the lack of success ballast. I'm not sure if it will be closer or not with success ballast, but I'm all for anything that gives everyone an equal chance at winning. That's what this series is created for.

Then let's disable tuning, all run the same, spec car, and then I'll agree with success ballast. You're not taking into consideration that people will spend different amounts of time practicing, tuning, etc. and plus the people who do well in the first two races have to start at the tail end of the grid for rounds two and three. That's enough of a handicap right there if I say so myself
