Any preference for mini mustang track choice? Seems to kinda work at autumn ring, Cape ring periphery, trial mountain, brands indy and deep forest.

I'm all for any of the Cape Ring layouts, Colin, because I think I've only been a part of two or three
races there in almost two years. It would be nice to go there again.

On to something completely different and a spur of the moment idea.
I plan on opening a public lobby in the RR club in half an hour.
Stock (plus oil) Firebird Trans Am's on comfort softs at the Nordschleife.
One lap races with realistic settings all around (no boost, real grip and slipstream and so on).

As long as ~3 drivers are in the lobby it usually grows from there. Might turn on the rain for
a few races too.
 
network doesn't look good. Keep seeing lots of friends connecting and disconnecting and when I try to look in the open lobby keep getting booted out to main menu screen!!:(

Same for me. When I try to join Sick's Classic series, I can't see the lobby open. :(
 
Ok let's go for cape ring periphery for Tuesday. Need to practice!

Reading the chat above I hope the connection holds out ok for us. Weekends do seem to be worse though.

While I'm posting I thought I'd just give a shout out to @bloodyboyblue who used to race with us until his time schedule prevented it. He's putting together something a bit different - a Wagon Championship* with races on Fridays at 22:30UTC.

If anyone is interested pop on over and have a look. As usual, the more clean racers the better and this is a good thread to look for those. :)
There's already a few of us RR'ers who are hoping to get involved when we can.



*Estate Cars for us in the UK. ;)
 
I came online at around 1800 UTC & couldn't see @JockeP22's room or @Sick Cylinder's room.
Well, the community section showed that the rooms were there but the system wouldn't allow me anywhere near either of them. :(

I'll be away for a few weeks now but I haven't forgotten anybody. I hope to see you all whenever the possibility arises but I'll be around the GTP forums all the time anyway. 👍

Are the Mini's and Mustangs still running at these specs...

Mustang specs are definite - 565pp on SH tyres.

Zolon and I tested the mini at 487pp on SM tyres, which did give slightly better lap times due to the extra power. I'd be happy to open it up to the drivers. Choose less PP but more grip, or go for a bit more power and be more delicate with your right foot. I like the contrast of low power/high grip vs high power/low grip, trying to emulate what the historics had to deal with, but the 487pp does bring in a middle ground. 450pp on SS tyres may be a bit arcade like for some, but you're flat almost everywhere!

@Zolon32 can have the final say!

Ans yes, we are at Cape Ring Periphery forward (not sure if there is a choice of direction though)

To summarise-

2013 Mustang Boss 302 - 565pp on SH tyres
2011 Mini Cooper S - 450pp on SS tyres
or
2011 Mini Cooper S - 487pp on SM tyres

I'd be perfectly happy to leave it up to the individual to choose between the two specs for the Mini BB, whilst leaving the Mustang locked at 565 on S/H. It'll make for interesting comparisons.

On the subject of the servers, to be honest I'm hoping for the best, but expecting the worst tomorrow. If PSN isn't playing ball I think we should do what we can, but re-visit this arrangement next week, we'll definitely have some belting racing if it all goes smoothly.

Any you want Rob. You can go either 450pp on S/S or 487pp on S/M, and how you make the pp is your own choice. Suspension, transmission, structural mods, it's entirely up to the individual.

Even at 487pp on SS tyres I still can't catch up with my Mustang! It is the boss I suppose.
The Mini is a tyre smoking blast to drive though. :) It would make for a fun series.

You're clearly far too quick with the Mustang Paul, with me BB and Suts the Mini and Mustang were going toe to toe for lap after lap around CRP. The Mustang's so tricky to drive there, but feels epic after a few laps in the Mini.

I've opened the room chaps, but I won't be there until 8ish.

We're over here @nonka (Max) if you want to know what's going on and if you're free on a Tuesday here and there. 👍 (shifts)
They're a rough bunch but you'll get used to them.

There's also Tarnheld's Zero Cup every other Monday.
And Jocke's OOE Cup starting soon on Thursdays.
Also BBBoy's Wagon championship late on Fridays.
There's even the occasional Reefer Madness races on Saturdays.
Oh I think Sick Cylinder does something on a Sunday too. :dopey:

Right thats your week sorted, now get that network cable plugged in. ;)

I liked it Colin. I didn't know you could get an FR and an FF car equal but
you guys at the front showed us it was possible. I myself was off the pace in all races.
Yes let's hope the network maintenance today solves the problems of late.

I have a question for @buybon355 and @Aaroh
How does it work with the PS4 and capturing videos. Do you just
press a button on the controller and it captures whatever you want?
What options do you have later for editing and working on the video,
and can you share them from PS4 to PS4?

I added my TPE Hudik trail to this competition and it
ended up as one of sixteen tracks available for voting in a poll today.
Give those 16 tracks a try and add your own track for the next competition.
It seems a new competition will be held each week.
gkgamer joined me for a touge on that trail and I really liked creating it.

No idea how to capture or share on ps4 but I think you press the share button. Never used it, in fact haven't been on my ps4 for about a month. I'll probably pick it back up once gt sport comes out. Not really enjoying project cars much to be honest.

It's quite interesting.
It seems you can capture up to 15 mins of in game video*, take screenshots and stream live video with the share button. All can be uploaded directly to various online accounts or can be transferred to a USB memory stick - and thus on to your PC.

Here's a YouTube video. He waffles on a bit but it give you a general idea.

*It will record constantly if you want so you can hit the button and save the previous (up to) 15 mins. Or set it to record from when you press the button. You do have options for trimming the length but not much else.
 
I have yet To press the share button but I did know it involved short streams and screenshots. There's also an option to "watch" people on your friends list if they're playing a ps4 game which is somewhat weird. I don't really enjoy project cars either, at least not until a decent number of the people from this group get it, since offline is only fun in short bursts and online seems to only be good if you have people you know to race with. Even though there's no way to find your friends rooms from the lobby. Sigh. There's a lot of interesting cars that I'm looking forward to racing against you guys with though. Basically all I play on PS4 so far is Mad Max, which is great. Not particularly challenging, but great.
