Racers Reunited. It's over! RR GT6 is no more. Tuesday's will now be for GTS (Maybe PC2 some times)

Only just noticed Zo's new idea.

Ecurie ecosse

Excellent idea.

Shall I bring this??

There must be a nice Scottish blue available?
You do realise I'm quite slow and very inconsistent but very happy to be your teammate. :dopey:

That is very cool. Aye we can find a nice blue, fit the four spoke wheels and paint them white.

Quite slow? You've finished ahead of me on many an occasion. Not exactly an exclusive club right enough but I'm sure we'll be fine. It's all about having fun

I had a chance to do a few practise rounds, and I drove the dodge first. After about 3 laps I felt comfortable in it and I kept dropping my lap times until about 10 laps in. Then I took the lotus for a spin. I had a hard time keeping it on the road, I was kinda surprised. Off Throttle Snap oversteer kept catching me out. I only had enough time to do about 4 laps, but I can tell I'd rather drive the ram.

So if someone is looking for a partner, and prefers driving the lotus, I'm available...
I have no preference on colours or team name or anything else....

Edit: drove the lotus some more and realized that you have to steer it with the throttle. I've almost got my lap time to match the dodge - a few more laps of practise should do it. So I'm ok to drive either vehicle now if that would persuade you to join my team...

Really good fun last night with the Elan and Ram.

I was really busy and thought I was going to miss it!! So I just had time to get the cars and paint them up ASAP before I joined!

Ecurie Ecosse after staying in contention over 2 races mainly due to Colin's excellent driving, unfortunately got caught out in the rain at the last race. I know see why F1 dropped the double points idea! 💡 Thanks Colin for being an excellent team mate.

I had more fun in the Elan. And actually the rain race was really good and there were always battles all the way through every race.

Good idea and brilliant fun Zo.

Thanks for turning up last night fellas, I think my medication might have been getting the better of me when I came up with that idea, but once the pp was sorted it worked out okay I thought. I can't imagine what it would be like putting those two together in a real race; I wouldn't want to be in the Elan in that case.

I'm thinking of trying the Tommy SS-Z on a tight little track next week (Not got a specific one in mind yet, if you fancy one feel free to make a suggestion) to take advantage of its diminutive size.

Actually, I've just thought of one, its called NimbleBeat and is on my list. It's from one of the Makeshift Shuffle guys. Still feel free to make suggestions, I'll give NimbleBeat a go and see if its cascading section can be negotiated safely with the Tommy. (If you give it a run you'll know what I mean.)

Congratulations to Zeuss and teammate for their victory last night by the way, and sorry to BB and Suts that the double points thing stole your rightful tied-for-second place

Quite enjoyed the wet thing last night (as the actress said to the Bishop), we should make more use of rain, before it disappears in the next incarnation of our game..................

Okay, I am pretty much an a-political guy, to be honest, (none of them can be trusted) but Jo Cox has shown that there are some of them with a heart and this fella has some credentials.....

Cheers, Zo.

"Professor Michael Dougan has spent his career studying EU law as it relates to the UK." - If he's spent his entire career studying EU law it must be somewhat over complicated!

Is there some sort of vote thing happening? I haven't noticed anything in the news. :)

Actually today's the day and I'll be honest in that I'm not completely sure which way to vote yet! I started with one opinion and have moved to the other. The remain campaign are predicting Armageddon if we exit and the leave crew seems to want us to pull up anchor and drift off into the Atlantic.
I could do with an "Ask me again in a couple of years" option.

Whatever happens there will still be Racers Reunited. 👍

Anyway while I'm here, starting in July @reefer is starting a short Muscle Car championship. Some may already know of it but I thought I'd just pop an advert in here st to promote the series for those who might be interested. Click the link for info.

I've got to say I was very much of the opinion that we should leave, purely because of the cloak and dagger way the various governments in Europe have gone about railroading their citizens into 'closer and closer union' which always was the aim, and remains so.

However, the Prof has given me the most lucid argument I have heard during the campaign, and I find it hard to ignore. I just hope that the vote is close enough, if we do stay, to make the politicians realise that they have to address the concerns of those who want to work in partnership with our European neighbours, whist wishing to remain uniquely British.

Anyway, on to more fun things, next Tuesday, 28th.................

It's the Tommykaira ZZ-S 00 at NimbleBeat. For a change we're using S/H tyres. The reason for this is that, when I tried it on C/S I found I was getting red laps time and time again, because of issues with control on the cascade section of the circuit. On S/H I could attack it for lap after lap with little or no trouble. It's a no brainer for me.

We'll be having a series of short races with an updated version of the Target 84 handicapping system, to keep the pack nice and close together, hopefully.

Full details in post 1.

Cheers, Zo.

It seems I might have the chance to join this nice club again next Tuesday June 28th as my wife will be away with our baby again next week. :)

Of course I'd like to use that opportunity and join the usual Tuesday event. The track/car combo chosen by @Zolon32 looks very promising. I've never raced at Nimble Beat but I know that @watermelon punch has a favour for small and slow cars and therefor she has build a suiting track. So it should be fun I guess.

I'm not sure if I'll make it in time as I've planed a meeting with former fellow students starting late afternoon. But I should be home by 21:00 BST so I could jump in for some races hopefully. How long do the events usually last when they start at 20:30 BST?

Normally one and a half to two hours, Patrick.

Edit;
I've just calculated the average length of a Racers Reunited meet by going
through all the threads & posts at GTP, adding up all the replays and every
single lap and overtake we've done, plus double-checking all of the above and
dividing it all by using the master atomic clock (a device that uses an electronic
transition frequency in the microwave region of the electromagnetic spectrum of
atoms as a frequency standard for its timekeeping element) and found that we
race for precisely 101,783200001 minutes each Tuesday.

Good to see you again. 👍

I've had to sell my atomic clock, now that the economic armageddon is upon us, but the sand I've got in an old milk bottle gives roughly the same result. We'll definitely still be at it at 9:00pm Patrick, in fact we'll probably still be trying to kick off the first race as we faff around with DCs etc. All in a day's racing.

Cheers, Zo.

I thought it would have been nearer 102 minutes than that.

in fact we'll probably still be trying to kick off the first race as we faff around with DCs etc.
And now of course the network connections across the channel have been severed so we'll have to send our race positions via semaphore.

Hey @Patrick8308 it'll be good to see you again.

I know many of you guys have quite a well-filled weekly racing schedule with Zero Cup on Mondays, this club on Tuesdays and SickCylinder's Historic BSCC series on Wednesdays plus Boss 302 series on Fridays.

It seems as if there are no major club commitments on Thursdays so I just wanted to ask if there's interest in doing some racing this Thursday? 💡

As mentioned some posts above I have the rare chance of online racing this week so I want to use it. :)

If there's interest we could arrange some sort of special event TBD!!!???

I'd love to join you Patrick, but my neck/pain in the neck might object, sorry.

Come on and unite across Europe (and beyond Zeuss, eh?) for some tiny-car-buzzing tonight fellas, and let's not mention football.......................

Cheers, Zo.
