I'm very interested to see how this handicap will work on coming races. I think after half of the races are done we'll begin to see the results of this handicap.
To me the cars aren't in performance order and I like some of the cars and dislike some of them.

Zo put me in full time drivers list as I like to see how this series will work. I'm going to join every race and to see how that drop score will work at the finish :)

Due to no longer being under the illusion that I'm actually competing for a championship or something, I will likely only appear at tracks that I actually enjoy driving.

Perfectly understandable Longbow. It can be a grind when you're ticking off laps around a place you're not fond of, if you're not involved directly in a scrap at the time. I hope you like most of them that are left though.

@jammy21 I'll put you down for full time fella. I have to admit, I'm a little disappointed with my quality control over the handicapping. I clearly didn't apply enough rigour to the vetting process. I always find it difficult measuring relative performances of cars; 'is this one quicker because I've had more practice?' sort of thoughts going through my mind. Perhaps I should have asked for a second opinion off someone. Probably will if I do a similar thing again.

I remember you getting wins with the Maserati, when we did the Trinity Coupe Championship. I think that the ultimate result may well rest on how far up the field those in the Maserati and Boss can get when forced to use those cars.

Cheers, Zo.

Tom i think from looking at it you Will be able to use car 3 to 12 ,, zolon Will let us know soon :)

Hi @Zolon32

Next week I can run the race 👍 so as I finished 7 on Monaco my car choice is 7/12 right?

Tom, I an SO sorry about missing you off the results :guilty:. I've put you in now and @richroo is correct. Your choices are from car 3, The California, through to 12. It think that the California could be a very good match for Brands, with the bit of downforce it has.

Thanks for helping out Rich. I'm gonna have to be chasing you pretty hard on Tuesday I recon.

Cheers, Zo.

Can I ask everyone here to be extra extra careful when it comes to the Paddock Hill bend (T1), especially on the opening lap? Such a corner is dangerous even by taking it on your own, I don't want my and other people's race ruined at the very first corner.

FULL WET TYRES.

Chaps, it would seem that for some reason the weather gods in GT are more likely to make it rain at Brands than at Silverstone, or perhaps it's just an anomaly of the random system. I any case, I had a practice yesterday, which reached 100% wet, and the place was much more slippery than I remember Silverstone being. Quite honestly I love it when there's next to zero grip, but I know that many don't.

In view of this, I am asking for opinion as to a proposal, to allow the use of Comfort Soft, and Full racing wet tyres. If we do this, we will have to go up to fast depletion, to prevent the wets being a faster option overall than comforts.

So, if anyone wants to have an input, please feel free to do so. I'll post an announcement around this time tomorrow.

@jammy21 @richroo @Aaroh @pretend racer @LongbowX @Harsk100 @CrazyJohn @buybon355 @Sutsagrd @JockeP22 @tarnheld @mgo @John Wells @thehobnob97 @IfAndOr

Or -Try it with the grip set at low instead of real? It makes quite a difference in the extreme wet.

CS only no Racing Wet tires.

As I had seen you always seem to be quite aggressive at the start of races so you should also keep it clean and safe too if you expect other do the same.

Although I doubt I'll make it, I'd go Comfort Softs. It'll be much more fun slip sliding around.
I'm working tomorrow evening but if things aren't too busy and I'm home in time I might try and join. However if I get called back in I'll have to just leave...perhaps best I sit this one out as suddenly leaving might destabilise the room!!
Have fun tomorrow night.

Yeah, if you can join us, please do Suts. If you get tied up during the race you can just park it somewhere, or pit. Just think, rain... Hmmmmmmm. (That was meant to be the sound of pleasant contemplation, but I'm not sure it worked.)

It's definitely looking like C/S tyres chaps, which I'm chuffed about, I must say.

Eeeeeeeyung Waaadi Dooo Da Diiidi Waaadi (That's me doing a rain dance, by the way)

Cheers, Zo.

Among the cars I'm allowed to drive I made few test this morning and came up with a selection of 3

Stringway could be the fasted but hard to drive especially in first corner
California is smooth to drive so even if a little slower in my opinion could match the speed of the 2 others
BMW M4 looks like the gearing is made for Brand 👍 but a bit harder to handle than California

Now I have to chose M4 for speed or California for Safe race 💡

About the rain I spend 50 minutes and only rain at start so CS seems good

with 50% surface water at the start of each race. The weather will be set at 50%, changing at 4X.

It's a nice choice to have 👍

Going here:

Well Rich, I recon that's a good enough reason, but it will put us out of step in the Championship, dammit.

Quick word on the dreaded track limits chaps. The third corner, the left hander at the bottom of a hill, is one where, if you are trying at all, you will probably exceed track limits at some point. One squirt on the throttle, a little opposite lock, and you're over the kerb, there's rock-all room for error. If you do slip out wide one lap, then just try to make damn sure you don't on the next. That should even things up a little. Only people who abuse it lap after lap will cause a problem, and I don't think we have any among us who will do that.

Also, if you slip off at Paddock Hill, please be very careful when re-joining. The people coming down the hill will be going fast, right on the limit of adhesion, and on the side you are trying to get onto. It's a bloody nightmare! So, if you're approaching Paddock Hill, and see a cloud of dust up front, start taking evasive action NOW! It could save your race :)

Cheers, Zo.

Am I still in the vantage?

Yes, you are BB. I know it's a bit late, but they do say better late than never. But that saying probably doesn't apply here, to be honest :)

Argh, won't make it today. :irked: Have fun slipping and sliding!

Tarn, we missed you, and it wasn't too slippery, but there were a couple of great scraps.

Congratulations to Harsk, on grabbing his maiden win, and moving himself into second place, just 7 points short of Jammy, who muscled the massive Boss into second in the race, well done fella.

I had a rather uneventful race, but there were a couple of belting scraps last night, with Zeus harassing Harsk brilliantly for lap after lap, until he just strayed onto the grass, and his race got away from him. Also, Tom battled and battled with Jammy until the pit stops, when that fight went a bit cold too.

And Jocke suffered a DC, as did John, and these have lead me to the following conclusion:

MAJOR REVISION OF THE REGS, TO AVOID DCs.

It seems to me that a large number of the DCs are related to pit stops, so we need to cut them out. In order to do that I intend changing the race format to one whereby we have:

5 minutes qualifying, followed by a race of approximately 20 minutes, no pit stop required.

Then, a race of 40 minutes, with a reverse grid start, no pit stop required.

These races will carry 50% of the points currently offered; a win will be 7.5 points, second 6 points, etc.

Damage will be reduced to light, again to avoid pit visits.

I'm sorry there have to be such sweeping changes fellas, but I really do think that it is for the best. Additionally, I have decided to take account of the positions drivers were in when they suffered DCs up to this point, both for points awarded, and for computation of the handicapping.

These calculations have been included with the results for Brands Hatch, and the championship standings/car allocations will be updated shortly. (Now done.)

Cheers, Zo.

I don't know if those newest regs changes are good or bad, we'll see

I wouldn't say it went cold because I knew Tom would catch me easily if I slowered even little bit and that's why I have to pushed hard as I could whole race to the end. Well done Tom to keep me really busy whole race

The old regs was find to me  but your call @Zolon32 we'll see how it works.

Sure it didn't went cold.
After my pit I slow it down a wile thinking I'm 3 and I'll keep that spot. But then I thought this is not racing spirit so speed up Tom maybe you could catch Jammy anyway. So for me the race was interesting and fun. :)

I'm not certain about the changes either chaps, but I don't want people getting fed up with being disco'd, and most of the DCs have been either in the pits or straight after, so I don't think I have a choice. The two race thing worked well during the Trinity Coupe Championship, I thought. Roll on Trial Mountain, and we'll find out.

I'll bet it didn't Tom. I was thinking more from a spectator's point of view. The race was still on, especially with damage lying in wait for the chap who makes a slip-up.

Cheers, Zo.
