Edit: Old thread?

Not that old, personally I'll probably keep visiting each time I've got something to add to my list, but with most series now having finished for winter, the thread may end up back in hibernation for a bit!

I've been to the Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg (IndyCar) once. Unfortunatley, I'm not a fan of Indycar that much anymore. I'd love to get some car-loving friends (and spare cash) and go to the 12 Hours of Sebring.

My motor racing attendance record is pretty scattered geographically, but the main ones are...

Late 90's - World Superbikes, Phillip Island
June 2002 and 2003 - V8 Supercars, Canberra
Feb 2003 - NASCAR @ Rockingham, NC
May 2006 - F1 GP, Monaco (the year Webber was running 3rd in a Williams til his car spontaneously combusted)
Early 2007 - BTCC - Knockhill (I could walk to the top of Knockhill iteslf from where I lived at the time - watched Jackie Stewart run in a vintage F1 car through binoculars)

During 2010 and 2011 I was working as a journalist for a Belgian motorsportsite, I had acces to almost everything except for F1. The weekend at Valancia was on an invitation of Chevrolet. Super weekend where I met one of my favourite drivers (great personality) : Huffy (Rob Huff).

This year I took a bit of a 'sabbath' year, but next year I will again go and watch the big 3 endurance races (Green Hell, Lemans, Spa) and there is a new race i defenitly want to see : the longest race ever !! The 48hr race at Navarra (Spain), will be definitly something to look forward to.

Late 90s/very early 00s - Bangers at Skegness Stadium
2006ish - Hillclimb - Oliver's Mount
May 2009 - British GT/F3 - Rockingham
April 2010 - BTCC - Rockingham
April 2012 - BTCC - Donington (got roped into an interview with the BBC )

I think that's it... I'm going to Knockhill for the BTCC next year

Races I have been to:

BTCC Knockhill 2001-2012 (excluding 2005 and 2008)
Indycar Honda Indy Toronto 2009 and 2011
Speyside Stages Rally 2002-2012 (missed a few years)

At least one family member of mine went to every single NASCAR Cup series race at Richmond, from when my great granddaddy saw Lee Petty win the first race in '53 at the old fairgrounds all the way to 2006, when we got screwed by the track because they wanted us to turn our season Cup pass into a package deal with the Nationwide/Busch series. When we told them no, they pulled our seats.
I myself have been to Richmond Spring 2009 Cup (Where I saw my favorite at the time Kyle Busch dominate the whole night), Martinsville Fall 2010 Cup (Hamlin winning at his home track, and I randomly met Montoya and Larry Mac), Martinsville Fall 2012 Cup and Truck (The Truck race was my favorite race I've ever been too, saw Stewart and Mears, and yelled "Armadillo!" to Almirola).
Will be going back to Marty in the fall only to see Chase Elliott before he makes it big in Cup.

I guess I can add few races.

2013 Rolex 24 at Daytona
2013 Martinsville Spring truck race
2013 Rockingham Truck race
2013 Bristol GRC
2013 V8SC in Texas
Super Stadium Trucks in Atlanta
ALMS at VIR

I've been to:

2002 Trace Adkins Chrome 300
2003 Pepsi 300 (That one had a crazy finish.)
2006 Pepsi 300
2012 Formula 1 United States Grand Prix (by far the best one.)

I also plan on attending either the WEC race at COTA, or the GP again. Or maybe saving a bit more money and head to New York next year for the Grand Prix there.

2004 Sirius at the Glen
2006 Zippo 200
2006 AMD at the Glen
2007 Zippo 200
2007 Centurion Boots at the Glen

Opening for my 2013 season and another added to the list.

FIA GT Sprint series 2013/Round 2-Zolder (20/21 april 2013)

Already bought my tickets for my next event :) in 2 weeks : WEC at Spa 👍

US Grand Prix back when it ran on the old RenCen circuit in downtown Detroit. I don't remember what year it was, but it either the 1986, 1987, or 1988 runnings. The winner of all three of those: Ayrton Senna.
Only other professional race I've seen in person: IROC, Michigan International Speedway, 1990s. Don't remember the exact year. I still have a die-cast car that I purchased that day.

I've been to none :(... Though, I'm thinking about going to either the 24 hours of Le Mans, the Belgian F1 GP (so far the cheapest) or the German F1 GP in 2014 (or 2015). Which one should I choose :boggled:?

(I'll get my license in 2014, not 2015 . Sadly, I won't get it before July :grumpy:.)

I would defenitly go for the 24hrs race :) Also, 24hrs of SPA (Blancpain series with more then 60 cars at the start) Something to consider :) I will be there for almost a week, you are more then welcome....

I'll consider the 24 hours of Spa, because of the prices! Oh, and I'll happily come, (this year, or 2014?) if you'll pay the trip, for me, Frank !

Just kidding; I'll pay it myself, when I get the money.

The closest I've come to an international event is DTC on Padborg Park or Rally Sønderborg in '11 (I hate the fact that I was assisting marshall and only a spot on the video in .1 second, while my stepfather was caught taking photo's of the cameraman filming him  ), but I really want to actually get to an international event.. Who knows, I'm hoping to get my drivers license this year so maybe next year? Possibly even a GTP meet at Le Mans?

Or the same as Dean J, it's right on the way
