Races that you've been to

Here are the races I've been at:
- DTM Nürburgring (2004)
- AVD Young- and Oldtimer Grand Prix 2010 (Nürburgring)
- Osnabrück Hillclimb (2010, 2015)
- FIA GT Zolder, 2009
- Several (4 or 5, maybe 6 I think) VLN races at the Nordschleife (2012, 2013, 2014)
- WEC 6h of Spa (2014)
- NASCAR Wheelen Euro Series at Raceway Venray (2015)

The VLN races have somewhat started to be a tradition for my dad and me, since we've first been to the Nordschleife (2010). From then we went to the Nordschleife at least once per year (but not 2011, sadly). This year though we've kinda forgot about VLN, because of a lot of stress and personal stuff. We might go to the last race of VLN this year though, although chances are quite low. But next year, I'll be definitely going there, and maybe to some more races too.

Went to this Nascar race back in 2008 at Talladega (Amp energy 500) it was awesome. There is so much more to do when you're their.

Also been to alot of local dirt oval and drag races.

I knew I'd go to the Nürburgring this year. 99% chance of going to the ADAC Westfalen Trophy tomorrow, my father just needs to know if my older cousin wants to come with us. Over 500 cars in total are expected to be there, from historic racing machines, over GT's to modern day touring cars. This is going to be a fun one.

Went to what is almost certainly my last races of the year last week in Las Vegas. The year was a little weak for me, but I did make it to my first race outside of North America. Looking forward to next year already

Dusting off this thread...

Even aside from the pandemic taking a dump on most events in 2020, it's been a sparse few years for me, but I've added these to my list anyway...

2021
BTCC, Snetterton

2020

Nothing :(

2019

BTCC Launch Day, Brands Hatch
Goodwood Festival of Speed - Four days camping on my own with a freshly snapped collar-bone... d'oh.

2018

Nothing :(

After the goings on of the last couple of years (loosing my Mum and Best friend last year, crippling work pressure thanks to Brexit and Covid, splitting up with the GF after 7 years...) going to Snetterton last weekend was quite an emotional experience, I literally got choked up as the cars came past on their first racing lap. Going to races is good for the soul... I miss it, I really need to get back to going to as may races as I can as soon as Covid restrictions permit.

I’ve only been to the 2019 Honda Indy Toronto. I had grand stand tickets across from the pits, along with pit and paddock passes.

I did not like the grand stand seats, it was way too hot and humid that weekend to sit on metal seats crammed with people. It was pretty awesome drinking beer and watching qualifying from behind the Penske pit box though. Also seeing all the cars and drivers up close in the exhibition building (paddock) was really cool.

The line ups for the drink stands were massive, which was to be expected, but they ran out of water on race day. Beer is good but it’s not good for hydration lol.

I was planning on going to the Canadian GP before the regulation change but that isn’t going to happen now. I will probably go next year but I doubt I’ll get grand stand tickets.

Lots of short oval tracks around here; so probably a few hundred trips to 10-12 tracks.

But big races?

Many trips to Michigan International Speedway for NASCAR/Indy/CART/ARCA.

Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the 500 and the sad attempt at MotoGP there. Would like to try the MotoAmerica race later this year.

Still the Long Beach GP and MotoGP @ Laguna are the best events I’ve ever been to.

I've apparently posted in this thread but never actually listed the major races I've been to, probably because at the time it was only 1.

I also have tickets to the IndyCar weekend at Road America in order to preserve my camping spot but won't be able to attend.

I'm hoping to eventually build a camper van making it easier to travel longer distances and enjoy other racetracks outside of Minnesota and Wisconsin. I also hope to get to an SRO event in the near future as that will be the only major U.S. series I haven't seen in person after the NASCAR weekend.

I like my BGT at Oulton (had purchased 2020 tickets too but obviously didn't get to go) but apart from that, it's a pretty poor effort.

NHRA events are a blast, even if you're not huge on drag racing. The pits are nice and open and you get a very good view of them working on the cars, there's also always something going on on the track as well since they run sportsman classes in-between Pro runs.

Indy would also be a great one to go to as that's the NHRA's biggest event. If you go just make sure you bring ear plugs.

Spent most of the weekend at Cadwell Park here in the UK at a British Superbike meet. Technically it's the second bike race I've been to (WSBK at Silverstone some time in the early 00's was the first, but I don't even remember enough about it to add it to my list!)... but it's the first time I've been to Cadwell, which was the motivation for going. I have to say, great circuit, better than I expected.

I have just four races I've been to.

2005 A1 Grand Prix, Brands Hatch
2007 Race of Champions, Wembley
Both 2015 London ePrix, Battersea Park

At a stretch you could also say the 2004 London F1 demo. Though this year's Goodwood probably doesn't count.
I suppose the next Race of Champions might be the next one to come.

(Boy I hope I haven't forgotten anything)
After the British and Belgian GPs of 2017, I made my first addition to this list in four years today: the MotoGP at Silverstone.

Closest I came before that was nearly going to Rally GB 2018. Had tickets but couldn't make it.
