Racing Modification/ Race Modified Cars

What happens if I apply Racing Modification to a car that already has been tuned? Does the Racing Modification get rid of all the tuning parts that I installed?
It removes them & will essentially charge you for some of them again. It's best to do the modification first, & then add anything else afterwards.

As far as I remember, with the exception of engine and turbo upgrades lvl3, everything else is maxed out in RM (lvl3 weight reduction, race filters and exhaust, etc.; lvl2 engine and turbo). I'm assuming you'd get the exact same results if you upgrade them one by one in the tune shop. Think of RM as a "all in one" tune pack.

Whether it changes handling or not, I cannot tell.

That is actually false information. As a matter of fact, the RM will give you a substantial weight reduction, but practically no power enhancements except for a racing exhaust.

Therefore power is only slightly increased compared to the base model.

You can still do a lot of tuning afterwards.

Quick question when i do RM on my cars they all use same paint scheme (silver).
On first post i see diferent colours after RM.
EX: civic blue mine silver/tuscan yellow mine silver

Ok this has been bugging me so I needed to post here to see if I can find the answer. There is an Audi R8LM in the game, I thought it might have been a racing mod so I bought one when I first got the game and to no avail you couldn't RM the 4.2 or the 5.2 R8.

So then last night I was bored and watched an hour long ISR review on GT5 and as they were going through the menu stuff, they showed an R8 rolling into the garage to be race modded. I was like "WHAT THE ****" so I booted up my game, bought both R8's again and neither one could be race modded.

Has anyone got an R8 RM? I'll post the link for the video I mentioned below for proof that there is a Audi R8 RM.

Go to minute 21 to see what I'm talking about.

Hmm ive yet to find a car I can add RMs to, tho my other half did find a Elise 111R that would work. Lots of credits tho! I do have one of those civic type Rs tho, pictured above.

I do see the car entering the garage, but it never comes out race modded in the vid? He was talking about rebuilding engines and stiffening the chassis, that requires the car entering the garage as well.

There is a Mercedes SLS in the game that I thought was race-modded too (because of the stickers on the car), turns out it was just the stealth version. Perhaps the car you saw was some sort of special edition like the stealth version of the SLS?

There are two different Audi R8's, you guys seem to have mistaken one for the other.

are you kidding me!!! They bring back a feature people have asked for ever since it vanished after GT2 (right?), and they limit it to 15!!!!!!!! cars out of +1000.... FIFTEEN!!! why bring it back at all!?
I loved doing RM in cars in GT2 :(

You have to take them to the paint shop after and apply your own colour.

Go to the car's page in your garage. There's a button at the bottom says '99'. Click on that to change.

A lately saw in a video of real-world GT-racing (the French FFSA GT-championship I believe) an R8 which looked just as if it was an RM GT5-car, with the GT-logo on the car.

So, no wonder there is some confusion, when a real-world race car looks like a GT RM-car and when you can't RM the car in the game.

The 15 RM-able cars are not bad to start. Yes, I know there are 17, but I'm not going to bother with nearly identical but lower spec models like the Vette Z06 and the Elise '96, when you can get the Vette ZR1 and Elise 111.

What they really should have done is have one or two high tier (Level 23) racing mods. The Citroen Road Car should have been an RM able, given it's the only paintable and number changable race car aside from the 17 RM cars.

I wouldn't mind seeing an RM version of some of the Stealth models, like the McLaren F1, the Mercedes AMG, the Honda NSX and the Nissan GTR in a future DLC, that way people who got the exclusive pre-orders can still enjoy their unique liveries, while others can enjoy the models that have already been made for them and Polyphony can enjoy the DLC income. A win-win I think. ;)

I think this R8 LM actually does exist (not in the car db yet). I've seen it at the Nurburgring 4 hour endurance. It was a concept LM GT1 car which looked very similar to the R8 GT car in GTR-Evolution on the PC. It was bonkers faster than my B-Spec army was prepared for in a Gaillardo (was testing to see if the turner cars that want to be Lambos can actually keep up with a proper Lambo) so I quit out on the first lap and never saw the car again.

On mygranturismo.net it is announced '09, with 513hp and 1300 kg. Given those elements, that can't be an LM Prototype but must be a GT. That must be the real existing car I saw in A French GT-race on television, which looks just like the "concept"- GT-race car of GT4 or GT5P (dont remember in which one it was).

I'm sure its been suggested before, but maybe the first post can be updated with the price of the stock car, along with the price to RM it, I think it would greatly help the community...

Here's what I have from my list. Price is total, for either stock, or stock+rm. I am missing a few of them, though :(
