When you RM a car you take off all the upgrades, and it does it's own version of upgrading. So really, you're wasting money if you can't put them back on the car. I think that you can though, not entirely sure.

You don't lose them at all. I have the 2010 Camaro SS pushing 550+ hp and i race modded it shortly there after. Going to the tuning page for the car, you'll get to put the upgrades back on them.

You do lose some, mostly weight-reduction related. So you will lose any cash spent on weight stages, carbon hood, windows and such. But the majority of other upgrades can be reinstalled.

Only 17? that's it?? over 1000 cars in the game and only 17 can be made into race cars? shame ...

Seriously. That's pretty pathetic. At least this saves me from going through a bunch of cars trying to find ones that work.

Also, I'm surprised that none of the 10,000 Skylines in the game can be converted.

I RM'd my Subaru Impreza, got it round the Top Gear track in 1.09.068 (bearing in mind im a bad driver) It handles amazingly even at speed, and is beautiful.

I have used quite alot of cars now in gt5, and I havnt found 1 single car that I am able to put racing mods to in the auto service!

Do you guys have any example car that it works with so I just can test it out?

I have a TVR Tuscan I would like to race mod, do I need to buy performance upgrades before I do the race modification, or is the car automatically tuned to max performance with the race mod?

No, you don't need to do any performance upgrades in order to do the Race Mods.

I Race modded my stock '70 Dodge Challenger. After, it had Fully Customizable Transmission, Drivetrain, Suspension.

I just painted it Hemi Orange, and had some fun!

You can, at least on this car, still purchase engine upgrades however.

Just did my first RM car yesterday with the C6 Z06. It basically as mentioned gives you all the chassis, suspension, drivetrain, and transmission upgrades(I think it omits LSD, you can buy seperate IIRC). You can't change wheels after, but you can repaint it still(painted mine back to yellow). It does NOT apply any engine mod aside from the racing exhaust. You can still buy all the engine upgrades, and you have to still buy the tires.

So you would be wasting money if you race modded an already upgraded car, right??

Mmm... sort of I guess. Although some have said that the weight is still lower than the stage 3 weight reduction.

But yeah, I'd start with a stock car.

I have built three of these now, if you have another one post the specs and picture if you can. (I haven't broke in the engines on all of them, so Max Power might be a little shy of what they are capable of).

Here are mine:

Suzuki Cappuccino (EA21R) RM '95
Max Power: 120hp/7200rpm
Max Torque: 106ft-lb/4200rpm
Weight: 590kg

Honda Civic Type R (EK) RM '97
Max Power: 348hp/9200rpm
Max Torque: 207ft-lb/8700rpm
Weight: 845kg

Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 (C6) RM '09
Max Power: 862hp/6900rpm
Max Torque: 790ft-lb/4900rpm
Weight: 1100kg

Chevrolet Camaro SS RM '10
Max Power: 596hp/6900rpm
Max Torque: 510ft-lb/5400rpm
Weight: 1210kg

TVR Tuscan Speed 6 RM '00
Max Power: 556hp/7900rpm
Max Torque: 421ft-lb/5900rpm
Weight: 885kg

Which car is the fastest with all the upgrades.

I've not tried them all but after driving the converted Corvette ZR-1 and seeing the rest of the list. I doubt anything could go faster than the ZR-1 and it handles like a dream! Earning 98k for 4mins of sunday driving around indy with the car (lvl 23 usa supercars), where my maxed out Ford GT was a chore to win with.

You shouldn't list the RM cars with all their upgrades, but rather see what RM gives you right off the bat without any engine upgrades.

Volkswagen Golf GTI 1.8t
Max Power: 167hp
Weight: 960kg

It's tuned to about 260hp right now. One of the most fun cars in the game, IMHO.

After buying several Premium cars and trying to give them the racing modification, i have had no luck in finding one yet that can take the racing modification.

The Racing modification is the last option in the GT Auto section.

So im calling on the help of the GTP community to help identify ALL the cars the can be equipped with the Racing Modification found in the GT Auto section of the game.

Lets see how many there are guys :) , good luck hunting for them 👍 .

Civic Type R (FD2) '08
First car I bought, but haven't made the mod yet.
Some people reported cars may loose hp after beeing fully tuned and then race moded...
