Forgive me if I'm a bit blind but I haven't seen a thread like this made yet. Unless you enjoy the sound of a 500+hp engine screaming in the wind, which, don't get me wrong, who doesn't(?), I personally think driving to music makes the experience much better. So let's see who's listening to what while behind the wheel..

This is my GTPSP list since that's the game I've been playing the hell out of:

Foreplay/Longtime - Boston

Slither - Velvet Revolver
She Builds Quick Machines - Velvet Revolver
Rockit - Gorillaz
Tainted Love - Marilyn Manson

I think there was a thread on a similar topic somewhere but making a long list of amazing driving music sounds like a good way to spend 10 minutes so here is mine. I'll go ahead and listen to some of the ones I haven't heard before on your list but good to see you mention Highway Star as that's one of the best songs of all time. :)

Escape - Metallica
Battery - Metallica
Dead Christmas - Monster Magnet
Solar Benediction - Shrinebuilder
Black Heart - Sparzanza
Spirit Caravan - Spirit Caravan
Spirit Caravan - Black Flower
Black City - Mustasch
Double Nature - Mustasch
John Brown - Masters of Reality
Prison Sex - Tool
Sober - Tool
You Wouldn't Know - Hellyeah
Hell on Wheels - Fu Manchu
Squash the Fly - Fu Manchu
Asphalt Risin' - Fu Manchu
The Mob Goes Wild - Clutch
The Regulators - Clutch
Chrome Division - Chrome Division
Straight Jacket Fashion - Chevelle
Jake Leg - Barroness
Breaking the Wall - Black River

Like A Hurricane - Neil Young
Wild International - One Day As A Lion
Wanna Be In LA - Eagles of Death Metal
Man In The Box - Alice in Chains
Grind - Alice in Chains

I'm going to stop there because I got a little carried away. Have fun with the list because I love em all for open interstates or lonely twisty California coastal roads. They will all makes you roll the windows down and hit the gas very hard.

Arcade Fire- No Cars Go (Ironic title for a driving song, but fantastic song to drive to! Top Gear even used the song for their series 10 opener!)

Alice In Chains- I Stay Away.

Two Door Cinema Club- I Can Talk

Fleetwood Mac- The Chain

The Cult- She Sells Sanctuary

For me, the two big songs that come to mind are Super Bon Bon by Soul Coughing (form the GT2 soundtrack) and Rusty Cage by Soundgarden (from Road Rash). As I don't turn on any music besides what's already in game, I don't have any other favorites off the top of my head. Also, every time I hear Van Halen - Panama I feel like firing up GT4.

One of the best albums, excluding the classics.

I will be the first to admit that there are 3 Enya CDs in my car.

The first and probably the last.

Thanks to Initial D, I recently discovered an awesome Japanese band called M.O.V.E. Here's one of my favorite tracks from them:

Gets my adrenaline pumping every time! :D

I don't have any Enya CDs, but I do agree that it's good music regardless of what peoples opinions are..

Theme from "A Man and Woman". High speed driving and racing scenes, two academy awards, and very, very memorable score.

Anything hard hitting and with a fast tempo. Metal, hard rock, electronic, way too much to list. That's for short distances or in games. If I've got to drive long distances, then it's gotta be something that I can get lost in that won't break my concentration. Something that makes the time fly by.

At the moment it´s the music of The Golden Eearring and a Dutch duo called Acda and the Munnik I am playing in my car.

Led Zeppelin, Django Reinhardt, Rory Gallagher, Les Paul, Jerry Reed, Chet Atkins, Howlin' Wolf, Robert Johnson, The Yarbirds...

Basically I listen to Blues, Jazz and Blues Rock.

How can anyone forget Masahiro Andoh - Moon Over The Castle? :D

Sums up about everything I wanted to say.

+1 my man!

Myself personally, have a rotation of Born of Osiris, After the Burial, Meshuggah, Animals As Leaders and Periphery. I also think that the following song was responsible for getting me through the majority of the license tests cos it certainly wasnt my driving skills! lol

I also post as JakSchitt on sevenstring.org

The drum beats I find is the best way to get a rythm going to put in good laps :D

Right now I've a playlist consisting of:
~ Metallica
~ Three Days Grace
~ Pendulum
~ Chicane
~ Rev Theory
~ Shinedown
~ Feeder (Kudos to GT1 for these guys)
~ A few songs from Nickelback, Breaking Benjamin, Saosin, and others I cant recall.

Rush-Red Barchetta.....best driving song ever:tup:

Actually anything by Rush is good driving music. I listen to a lot of Iron Maiden when I'm driving too, and the Nostradamus and Angel of Retribution albums from Judas Priest. And you can't forget Freewheel Burning (GT4) or Turbo lover (GT3):P

Rush-Red Barchetta

Rush-Countdown

Led Zeppelin-Misty Mountain Hop

Pink Floyd-One of These Days

Pink Floyd-On the Run

Frost*-Hyperventilate

Dream Theater-Under a Glass Moon

Everything off of Rush's Power Windows album

Sabaton-Into the Fire

Enisferum-Deathbringer from the Sky

Chelsea Grin-Elysium

Aphex Twin-Felix Funk

Squarepusher-My Red Hot Car

etc etc..

I'm all over the place. Aside from my favourite GT2 tracks, I listen to mostly older stuff...

Bachman-Turner Overdrive
ZZ Top
Billy Idol
Traveling Wilburys
Roy Orbison
AC/DC

I plan on adding more as time goes!

I listen to Don't mean a thing by Borialis, Free Wheel Burning by Judas Priest, Panama by Van Halen, and any classic rock that has a good drum beat or cowbell. That's what gets me in my racing groove.

Pendulum - Watercolour
Pendulum - Crush
Pendulum - Propane Nightmares
Pendulum - Witchcraft
Pendulum - Slam (excluding intro)
Plan B - Stay Too Long (Pendulum Remix)
30 Seconds to Mars - Closer to the Edge
5OUL ON D!SPLAY
Marilyn Manson - Tainted Love
Travie Mccoy - Superbad (11:34)
anddd, The Entertainer (GT Auto Music)

Most of the Pendulum songs fire me up during a race.

I'd love to write a full playlist, but my internet crashed halfway through, and it's a big playlist :banghead: S:censored::censored:T

But I'll reduce it to just the Bands
Key: Nothing else written by band name: 1 song up to 1 album
:) There's more than 1 album, but not heaps
 There's a lot of this, and I'm a big fan

Audioslave
Bon Jovi
Dire Straits
Disturbed
Dream Theater
Foo Fighters
Guns N' Roses :)
Iron Maiden
Jimmy Eat World
Judas Priest
Lynyrd Skynyrd
Megadeth :)
Metallica :)
Tom Petty
Van Halen
ZZ Top

And it consists of over 500 songs I'd probably say... I know it's long, and Dream Theater has a lot of extremely long songs (Octavarium comes to mind, 24 minutes)
