I've already got a MKI, but I do not foresee getting a hold of any of the 503E powerplants in any of those cars....

Now, a built MK1.5 (MKI chassis with MKIIT engine/trans) that is capable of over 500hp (read: there are quite a few out there!!) would be a worthy substitute!

Cool! I've loved the Mk1 ever since my older step brother got one. He equipped: Turbo (I think), new rims, exhaust, three other things in the engine and then it was stolen, and found stripped and torched

I'm going to wait for at least 20 years to try making a replica, that way I have the money to actually do some rebuilding.

What would be cool for GT5 to have is all (or almost all) the little 60s rally cars. Fulvia, Cooper, MGB, whole bunch of stuff.

Mmm a DLC Group B pack would be awesome, perhaps with the following:

Audio Quattro (not sure which one though!)
Lancia 037 (plus the road version, such a beautiful car)
MG Metro 6R4
Opel Manta

...and perhaps some exotics like the Ferrari 308 and that MR2.

The 911, if only (how about a rally tune for the RUF RGT C-Zeta?)

That plus point to point course maker, and Pike's Peak would be sweeet

Thanks to those who linked to the videos, have spent hours watching that kind of thing on Youtube and now will probably do so again

EDIT - Updated engine sounds would be nice for the existing Group B cars in the game also, after seeing that last video.

No problemo, it's actually one of the older ones before power started getting into the realms of OMGbhp, nice road cars too, particularly the 70s ones. 80s models have that "so 80s" thing going on looks-wise but are still pretty neat.

what we don't need... is the standing trees that wince and flip out when you drive by... many feet away from them.

I'd imagine Codemasters own the R4 due to it being in most and/or all they're DiRT games. Licensing preventing PD from acquiring the car.

I love the Rally in this game. If anything needs more dlc or expanding it is the rally and track maker.

Even though there are no rewards I am happy to just play the track maker for fun

That was one of my favorit tracks from RBR. Gt5 rally tracks is a joke compared to this. So old game, but still best in many areas.
