Suzuki Alto Works RS/Z '97 75/100

The Alto Works belongs in the same category as the Daihatsus. It's very small, AWD, powerless, and VERY LIGHTWEIGHT! This is THE car's advantage. It may not be able to be tuned very much, but the lightweight means it comfortably competes alongside the bigger, more powerful vehicles, provided you max out the engine.

Next Car: Honda Accord Wagon 2300 VTL (Used Car Lot)

Once again, don't just casually go 0/100 this car sucks, tell us WHY it sucks by actually buying it (in GT2) and racing it!

Also, all the popular cars have already been rated many many many times. Right now, all the underused and never used cars are being rated.

I agree....do we really need any more GT40 ratings? :)

I just happened to get a '97 Honda Accord VTL recently so this one is fresh in memory.

You can find VTLs in the bottom of the Honda used car lot, which means they're still easily affordable. It's dimensions are a bit on the longish side when compared with its used car competition (Imprezas, Legacys, and the Mazda 323) and when driven stock it pales in comparison to these other machines. Poor acceleration, average speed. This one is also kinda heavy, too, and tends to slide a bit thru corners before you save it with a better suspension & tires.

You shouldn't need the limited slip unit, but you will need a better transmission (a sports unit will do mostly) ...unfortunately the VTL remains underpowered even when upgraded with the best parts available: Stage 2 NA with racing parts will max out at 286 @ 6,400 rpm with 235 ft-lbs.@5,900. Not bad, but for a little more credits you can get a Legnum, Caldina, or one of Nissan's monster Stageas, all of which will accept more power. The Accord always remains in the ‘weekend warrior soccer mom’ category--it never becomes a supercar, but it has its place in the game. Within its class it does pretty good if you don't mind its bulky mannerisms. Below are some stats from my track test in a stock Acccord VTL with a 4-speed Automatic

0-60 mph: 10.649 seconds
0-100 mph: 28.868 "
400 m: 18.077 @ 78 mph
1000m: 32.330 @ 103 mph
Test Track: 2:04.077

Top speed:
1st: 38 mph @ 6,000 rpm
2nd: 68 "
3rd: 100 "
4th: 141.94 @ 5,750 rpm

Overall: 42/100
Next car: '98 Civic Sedan/Ferio Si (new car lot)

90--- on the formula car, I mis that car and wondered why it never returned? It has a unique engine sound that I found amazing!

What about the Gold Dajshin Sylvia?

from the first grand touring car race. i like it alot, very good handling and decent straight line speed. i give it 85/100 (i dont like gold :) )

In other words, where do you get that car? GT4?

Here, rate this. Again, don't just go 0/100 it sucks and put down yet another over rated over used car. We have reviewed the GT40 a gazillion times already! Try it first!

1991-3 Honda CRX Si (Used Car Lot)

Opel Corsa: 82/100

I had to start a new GT2 game on my laptop, but I already have nough cash for this car. In fact, $19,000 was easy to come by with a Used Supra Turbo and six wins down the line in the Sunday and Clubman cups.

When I looked at the car, I saw that 104 HP and that 2200 lbs. weight. Well, I thought, my CRX Si is faster. I was right, but not by much. Here's why...

I took it to the 147 HP Kei race bone stock, and I whipped the tar and the feathers out of the competition! The car has unbelievable top end, and starts pulling away from the pack at 86 MPH! The cornering is mega fast, and even the Lotus had trouble keeping up. The only gripe about this car is the stock transmission has bad gearing, all wide and uneven. You never use 5th gear when the car is stock, unless you are trying to get better gas mileage.

Tuning is another matter all together. With a chip and a racing exhaust, plus a close-ratio transmission, the car hits 100 MPH with little struggle. In fact, the car can take a stage 3 turbo, which will put the car over 200 HP, not counting the other engine mods. That's even better the Daihatsu Beex! Well, almost, it doesn't have AWD. But still. F-A-S-T slow car!

Extra points for the surprise factor.

Next car: 1991 Honda Civic CR-X Si (Honda Used Car Lot)

You have to win it from the GT300, however it can be hard to obtain since that race series awards several cars.

well, looks like that one will have to be saved for later. How about the:

Toyota Caldina GT-T '97

Again, RATE the car, don't just blindly put "0/100 it sucks next car: ford gt40" because chances are the cool race car you want someone to rate has already been done a lot of times! Honestly! Try out this car. It's not as bad as you think.

85/100, I like the sound and R body :). I can win Deep forest & R5 tuned turbo no.1 with this car. The car feels light and balance, my bad skill is covered with zero counter drift from entry to exit :P , shift down is enough to regain car traction. Good car 👍.

Next car: Mitsubishi Mirage Cyborg ZR '97

Goood, I'm glad this thread has been revived cuz I looove rating & discussing cars!

The Mitsubishi Mirage Cyborg is often forgotten about...one of many cars in GT2 that gets rarely discussed since the Civics are lighter and way more popular (at least in America). But (from a replay I saved months ago) i can tell you the Cyborg is no slouch in many B and A license races. Great maneuverability and extremely nimble with the right suspension set-up. You won't need racing parts, full tranny, full limited-slip or super soft tires to win many races. It is also relatively cheap (not as cheap as some Civics, tho). A racing kit is available if you wanna tackle the Super Touring or Tuned NA races.

Some bads: {1}. UNDERSTEER: it's hard to fvck up tuning the suspension, but easy to get throttle-hungry out of corners, which of course leads to plowing. {2}. Power can only be raised to Stage 2 NA-- just under 230 hp...no turbo available according to my notes (might be wrong on that). {3}. Poor acceleration.

Overall, 60 out of 100. It's great for Fast & Furious low-powered events, but eventually gets overshadowed.

Next car: '95 Subaru SVX LSi or S4...they're both pretty similar.

70/100, I like R body, hates the sound. I race with this car before and feel it uncompetitive enough. The handling is good, but no power. The car feels like a fully tuned K car with added weight. I feel understeer on long corner when stock. If this car have more power I might like it more.
Next car: RUF BTR Type I

RUF BTR Type 1:

Great, fast machine. It seems since it's rear-engine / rear-drive that you'll oversteer mercilessly, but (if driven with proper racing lines) understeer will be much more present. You'll spend alot more time tuning the RUF for understeer than you will trying to avoid oversteer, surprisingly.

Some pros: It's a warmed-over Porsche. You'll never have to worry about speed. Great stock tranny and suspension...everything is race-ready.

Cons: No race kit. Expensive.

I give it 82/100

Next: Lexus GS400

Lexus GS 400: 65/100
Nice R body :)
The car handling is good, it give little understeer on throttle, which can be cure easily with lower rear damper on sport suspension. The power band is on higher side, so unless we use manual, we can't get the optimum power.
The car is powerfull enough with fast engine pick up, but I will prefer the turbo version Aristo V300, while it cost little higher, with the same amount of credit you can get double power increase. Unless maybe you want to win Tuned NA no 1, which is overkill if you use this car fully tuned.

Next car: Toyota Vitz (Yariz)

Amemiya
Next car: Galant VR4

Unlike the Lancer, the Galant is not as common a choice for racing. The reasons are obvious: both are sedans, but the Galant is larger, heavier, and has ultimately less power. It displays more extreme behaviour, especially in corners. In a Lancer, you'll get to out maneuver other cars in corners if you can't beat them on the straight, with understeer eventually being the main thing that slows you down. In a Galant...understeer, but also oversteer. Tons and tons of oversteer! It's a pretty fun car to race if you want to get some controlled drifts going. It WANTs to get sideways, unlike the neat & tidy Lancers, which really must be forced to drift.

So pros: Galant VR-4 is cheap. The new one costs just under $30,000. Good low-down acceleration. Good gearbox / high speed. Exciting car for drifters. 3 turbos offered.

Cons: Poor acceleration above 3rd gear, extremely twitchy and volatile handling...the Yaw control does not help at all...you'll need to buy differentials. You won't get as much power out of a Galant. Heavy...not really suited for racing at all like a stock Lancer can be.

I give it 50 out of 100

Next victim: '99 Tommykaira R...I have yet to drive this myself.
