Jesus christ STAV!

How's it going dude?

Yeah, I've been at university down the country and didn't have my PS3, unfortunately. I'm only home for 5 days :( so I got to make the most before Summer when I am back from June till October :D

You been tuning much?

I'm going alright, next few weeks are gonna be hard with exams coming up.

Only been tuning my drift and drag cars, may head over to the tuning thread though.

Yeah, exams are a killer. I've got 4 coming up :(
I have been tinkering with my FT86 for the track. It currently likes to oversteer a lot. Might be the high power to weight ratio. :P

I've recently been screwing around on my AE86 with some Toscana Touge, epic beast it is.

Hey guys, I just joined the forum and although I have had GT5 since the first week it came out (barely played : /) I finally picked it back up today after seeing a few bad ass videos of people drifting. I love real world drifting and I am hoping to learn how to drift in GT5 soon (after exams are over), as well as possibly finding a group of cool people to drift with/against. : )

Thank you spank! I have a quick question. I am drifting a 98 sileighty with about 287hp (N1s, basic suspension upgrade, low rev turbo) but I limited it to 250. I find that many times when drifting I either enter the corner wrong which leads to not going sideways enough (maybe hitting the railing) or many times when I am hitting a good drift the front end dips in too much and I clip the last bit of the corner (its a pretty big corner btw). Any tips on what to do, whether with drifting, my car, or the track?

Is there a reason why you are limiting your power? What tires are you running on it? whats your LSD set up? you using wheel or DS3?

Im using DS3, comfort hard tires, don't have LSD yet (probably should invest in it right?), and I limited the power because I read on a few forums that 250hp is good speed for beginner to start =x, guess not lol. And in case you are wondering, the course that I have been practicing on is the Trial Mountain Circuit.

I use DS3 to. And yes a LSD and a carbon drive shaft would be good things to invest into. Cause right now your car may have a more open diff, this could be the reason why you are losing your angle and its going to the bottom. And for trial mountain is it more difficult cause of the fact the corners do have banking in them. So make sure you enter and stay high up. I say for a beginner you should practice either Tsukuba circuit or Autumn ring mini. then work your way up to more challenging cources such as Trial mountain, Suzuka and Autumn Ring (full track), 👍

Okay well I added both parts and ecu to boost it to 301hp. For some reason I can't judge the line n speed properly on Tsukuba but im gonna keep working on it

If PSN was working i would totally help you and have you follow my line i can drift everything all the way up to the back straight.

Sup people, I'm new to drifting but I love it. The thing i need to work on most is pulling out of a drift smoothly. I can initiate and go through corners well for the most part but on exit I either get snap oversteer or I just don't give it enough countersteer to pull out.

I mostly drift with an FD35 RX7. Stock settings except for LSD. Maybe I should work on that too. Add Woo_Boost if you wanna hook up.

"I just don't give it enough countersteer to pull out." Alot of guys have that problem! Oh and i fixed the car name.

But hey, once PSN gets back up i say stop on by and come drift with us. ask for pointers! Im sure we will be more then happy to help you. 👍 Stop in to Drop5 and check us out! Looking forward to hopefully seeing you.

Yeah i always miss that... On my tv it looks way too much like a 5 unless i put my nose to the screen. And I'll be sure to join you at some point, thanks. The other thing it might be is that i am giving it too much initial throttle and/or turn in so that my car basically is quickly past the threshold of being able to recover.

Yeah definitely. I'll work on that this afternoon. This was me when I was using SH fronts and CH rears lol... I took those tire choices from these forums, didnt work out too well. I'm much better than that now. Using CH/CH was a big improvement. Actually last night i think i got it down well on Tsukuba, I'll probably upload that replay. I use the overpower method so that may be a part of my oversteer issues. The handbrake method leads to an immediate loss of traction for me, although i didn't mess around with it too much.

edit: I tried the handbrake and holy crap, ive gotten some really good slides.

Hey all I have been drifting a couple months on here in open lobbies and such I usually drift a fc and s13. Just a question if mr drifting is generally accepted I've heard alot about awd vs fr but not much about mr as I have started tuning a Toyota mr2 '97' for some touge and was wondering if I was wasting my time or not? If so hit me up for a run xx_kasino_xx

As a IRL owner of an sw20 I can tell you that getting sideways in one is beyond awesome :) So you're definitely not wasting your time. I actually remember one of the team leaders drifting an mr2 at some point a while ago. You'll be good to come drift with team drop5 for fun thats for sure :) 👍

Good because I'm really loving how nimble it is while at the same time dumping mass amounts of smoke :D yeah for sure :) would be good to be around some decent drifters unlike what I've been experiencing in open drift lobby's :s
