Ah, my first racecar as curator. And what a one to start with. Remember, the rules were changed to allow racecars on the wall again (This actually predates me, they've been allowed since GranTurNismo reopened the wall last year. It's just no one used it/noticed)
Yes, but even like the MK. I GT40 (which was polled back in 2015), the two vehicles are both street legal anyways.

Nice, racecars are allowed again. I nominate-

Power: 260 HP / 271 HP (special models may vary)
Weight: 2,121 lbs. (962 kg.) / 2,271 lbs. (1,030 kg.)
Transmission: 4-speed manual

AC Cars was building their Ace roadster using Bristol's inline 6 engine. The engine was designed by BMW before WWII and the engine was considered outdated by the early 1960s. Bristol discontinued production of the engine and AC was no longer supplied with engines to put in it's Ace so AC started using the 2.6L motors from Ford Zephyrs.
AC received a letter from retired racing driver, Carroll Shelby in September 1961 asking if they could modify the Ace to accept a small block V8. Shelby wanted to create his own sports car that had a powerful American powerplant in very light compact body. He quoted, "...the longer I went on racing and was around the limited-production factories in Europe, the more I realized that America was missing a big bet, a winning bet...that winning bet I'm talking about was the design and production of an all-purpose, all-American sports or grand touring car that you could drive to market and also race during the weekend..."
AC agreed since Bristol stopped supplying them with motors. Shelby asked Chevrolet if they were interested to supply him with their small block engines. Chevy denied Shelby to avoid adding competition for the Corvette. However Ford wanted a competitor for the Corvette so they agreed to supply Shelby with two of their new 3.6L (221ci.) Windsor V8s.
AC built a prototype fitting an Ace with one of the Ford 3.6L engines. The car was named the "AC Ace 3.6" and was designated with chassis number CSX2000. After some testing, the car's engine and transmission were removed and the car was sent from England to Dean Moon's speed shop in Santa Fe Springs California. Shelby's team paired a transmission with the engine which the displacement was increased to 4.3L (260 ci.) and did further testing. This car became the first Cobra.
Production started with chassis CSX2001. AC built and trimmed the bodies and the cars would be sent to Shelby American to be fitted with the drivetrain and the cars were sold both in the U.K and the U.S.
The Cobra soon became a legend on and off the track. Shelby developed the streamlined Daytona Coupe to compete at Le Mans and soon developed the famous 427 Cobra and completely redesigned the car.
The 260/289 Cobra was the start of something big. The brainchild of a Texas chicken farmer's idea of a perfect performance car.

I changed my mind about the TZ3 being my last nomination for the Cool Wall since I’ve come up with a few more nomination ideas since then, like this one:

1967-1970 Datsun Fairlady 2000/Sports 2000 (SR311)
SR311_DATSUN-FAIRLADY_001.JPG

Body Style: 2-door roadster

Transmission: 5-speed manual
Drivetrain: front-engine, rear-wheel drive
Additional Information: Introduced in March 1967, the SR311 saw a major update to the Datsun Sports line. The car used a 2.0 liter U20 engine and a 5-speed manual transmission. The SOHC inline-4 U20 engine had a cast iron block and aluminum alloy head, which made 133 HP in standard form. The optional Competition package included dual Mikuni/Solex carburetors, a special "B" model camshaft for 148 HP, higher limit gauges, and a license plate surround. The car was highly regarded as a bargain sports car, and it was raced by John Morton, Bob Sharp, and others. It's sticker price was lowest in its class, but it won its class in C Production and D-Production in SCCA racing on a consistent basis even after production stopped in April 1970.

The car was driven by Ralf Schumacher, Juan Pablo Montoya, and Marc Gene, who replaced Schumacher for the Italian Grand Prix after he was injured in a testing accident. Throughout the season, Williams and the FW25 won 4 races, took 4 poles, and was a strong contender for the 2003 Constuctor's title, only losing out to Ferrari after a rule change was implemented after the Hungarian Grand Prix that narrowed the width of the front tire. Montoya stated that the FW25 was his favorite F1 car he drove, praising the balance and the drivability with the powerful BMW engine which suited his aggressive driving style.

A mid-sized hatch back, it's engine is perhaps not as efficient as those found in some of it's rivals, although the petrol motor has a sporty character that's fitting for the Giulietta. All cars feature Alfa's DNA switch, which adjusts the car's performance, ranging from sporty to efficient driving depending on which option you choose, although all three settings demand compromises of one sort or another. A fun car to drive that definitely stands out from the crowd.

Gordon Buehrig, who was responsible for many designs for Stutz and Duesenberg, created the new Auburn 851 Boattail Speedster. By many, it is arguably one of the most memorable and beautiful American cars. It’s performance was staggering for the time. The 851 featured a supercharged straight-8 and was equipped with a Columbia dual ratio rear axle adding a whole new dimension to its drivability/speed. The 851 Speedster was the first stock American car to exceed 100 MPH for twelve hours. With only 500 produced, it is one of America’s most collectible sports cars.

Body Styles: There was like 70 body styles from Fleetwood and other coachbuilders. Too many to list.

Engine: 452ci. ( 7.4L) V16
Power: 175 HP
Weight: 5,300–6,600 lbs.(2,400–3,000 kg.)

Transmission: 3-speed synchromesh manual

Drive train: front engine, rear-wheel drive

Cadillac started development of a "multi-cylinder car" in 1926. This car was to become Cadillac's most expensive and opulent car to date. Development started in secret. The OHV V16 engine allowed the car to reach 90-100 mph. Harley Earl and Larry Fisher were responsible for designing the new car. They took inspiration of Europe's finest coachbuilders and decided to have the cars tailored to customer's specifications. Most were to be built by Fleetwood and Fisher to keep it in-house GM. The costliest Cadillac was revealed at the New York Motor Show in January, 1930 with a base price of $5,350 ($84,000 today) . Due to the high price and launching the vehicle right after the stock market crash, sales dropped significantly. Cadillac sold 2,500 Series 452s in 1930 and only sold 49 each year between 1935 and 1937. The V16 Caddy would evolve and become the 2nd gen. Series 90 which would be built until 1940.

Looks like this was never actually produced though, so we can't poll it. You can replace it with a different nomination if you like, as long as it is a street or race car that was actually sold or raced. There's more than plenty out there, and I can help you find a good one if you need it. Either way, welcome to the wonderful of car nominations, and I hope that after this hiccup I can still expect your participation.

Nissan R89C
69b253d9231a4df2aabeb9383e90d222.jpg
Engine:3.5 VRH35 DOHC
Power: 950 hp
Weight: 960 kg
History:
In the 1989 World Sportscar Championship season, Nissan struggled to solve not only reliability problems, but also to find pace from the new chassis and engine. As a result, the R89C was only able to score points in three races. Even though, it finished the season fifth in the team's championship. In the All Japan Sports Prototype Championship, the R89C suffered the same fate, unable to compete with its developed Porsche and Toyota opponents, leaving Nissan to finish the season third in the championship. Meanwhile, at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, three R89Cs were entered into the race. However, all three failed to finish the race due to mechanical problems.

For 1990, the R89C was campaigned by Nissan for the first race of the World Sportscar Championship until it was replaced by both the R90CK and R90CP. 2 R89Cs would be passed on to privateer teams, with Courage Compétition managing to finish 22nd in the 1990 24 Hours of Le Mans with an ex-factory R89C (chassis #01). Chassis #03 was modified by Team Le Mans to become known as R90V. It ran JSPC with a best result of sixth before being retired. It also ran at Le Mans in 1990 retiring at about 7.00 AM.

R89C chassis #02 was rebuilt as an R90CP for use by Nismo at Le Mans and in the All-Japan Sports-Prototype Championship.
