I've never really liked the appearance of the E-Type; it all looks disproportioned. The hood is too long, the roof is too high. I also hate the way the turn signals seem to be simply screwed into the bumper, with no thought given to design.

It's a mystery to me why everyone say's that this is the world's best looking car. Astons and Ferraris of the same era look much better to me.

@JMoney689 I agree. There's aesthetically pleasing long hood/short deck proportions, and then there's overdoing it, the Jag overdid it. The coupe needs it top chopped as well and even the convertible might look slightly wrong from some angles.

I've never understood why people find the E-Type so attractive to look at, it's proportions are just so comical, and I don't much like any of the styling details. Not sure whether I find it cool or not though.

Well, since it hasn't been nominated and we're trying to get the Miura some company in "STEVE McQUEEN'S GARAGE", how about a car that actually was in McQueen's garage?

Yeah baby, the 1957 Jaguar XKSS. It's based on a D-Type Jaguar Le Mans racer, bodywork is basically the same and all the running gear is the same. They removed the fin behind the driver, the divider between the two seats, added a second seat while they where at it, lights, bumpers (chrome bumpers nonetheless), and a folding soft-top.

275HP racing-spec engine. Center lock steelies from the time wheel changes in pitstops were done with a hammer. Svelte, gorgeous bodywork by genius aerodynamicist Malcolm Sayer. Brittish racing green. Miles upon miles of sky above you. Two seats. Wooden steering wheel. If it was enough for the "King of Cool" himself, I cannot see how certain muscle-car fanboys on GTP can give it anything less than Sub-Zero!:lol::lol:

Is it bad that I know exactly where that photograph was taken? I took a photo of a Miura in the same place. Well, eight feet to the right.

Not that it matters much in the context of the Cool Wall, but I feel like that Daytona curb weight is grossly ambitious.
