I've just realized the McLaren F1 still hasn't been polled- and it's even more important than the Veyron! How has nobody nominated it yet? It's probably the only car left that can beat the Miura's rating.

Not necessarily the only one left. The Shelby Daytona Coupe, Ferrari 250 GTO and Alfa Tipo 33 Stradale are also in with a shout of joining the Miura.

Too race car. I know it's the road going version, but that wont stop people using that argument.

Not if it's a Straddler it isn't.
The 037 was the last car in the Icebox and by that logic it should be too race car. Yet, still Icebox.
Mind you, I still don't expect it to match Miura.

Since my nomination is up for polling, time for a proper nomination:

Wikipedia
The GTA retained the external form of the Giulia Sprint GT, but was constructed with aluminum external panels replacing the standard steel panels. The 'A' stood for "Alleggerita", Italian for "lightened". The engine was based on that of the standard 1600cc car with a new, twin-plug head and Weber 45DCOE carburettors. The sump, camshaft cover, timing cover and clutch housing were in lightweight magnesium alloy instead of the standard aluminium alloy.

Many other measures were also taken to lighten the car, and tune it for racing. All GTA's had the lower rear wheel arches as fitted to the Giulia Sprint GT's and GTV's, and very early GT 1300 Juniors.

The GTA was available from the factory as a high-performance car for the road or racing. Unmodified cars in factory trim have come to be known as "GTA Stradale" but few were sold in this form. Most customers were racers and had them further modified and tuned before delivery by Autodelta, which had become a wholly owned Alfa Romeo subsidiary running its competition department.

The 500 car production run does include both stradale and corsa models, but this is meant for the stradale model only. That should prevent people whining about another race car being nominated.

Not a complaint, I just noticed it didn't work, and I just wanted to bring it to your attention.
