Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato
aston-martin-db4-gt-zagato-07.jpg

Production: 1960-1963
Body Style: 2-door coupe
Drivetrain: Front-engine, rear-wheel drive
Engines: 3.7L Straight-6 (Sanction I) and 4.2L Straight-6 (Sanction II and III)
Transmission: 4-speed manual
Power: 314 HP (3.7L), 352 HP (4.2L)
Weight: 1250-1257 KG (2755-2772 LB)
The first car designed by Ercole Spada from Zagato, the DB4 GT Zagato is a lighten and improved version of the DB4 GT. 19 examples of 25 were produced before production ceased due to low demand. But in 1988, Aston Martin gave approval to make 4 more GT Zagatos using unused DB4 chassis and a more powerful 4.2L engine making the Sanction II which were completed in 1991. A year later, 2 more Zagatos under the Sanction III name was approved and completed in 2000.

The most beautiful car ever made... I need to multi like this one!

@gtpanoz, You've listed the production as 1960-1963, so I'd assume that you were just nominating the original cars and not the Sanction II and Sanction III models, personally.

Also, black isn't the GTZs colour. Please post a green one. ;)

Well I can't ignore the 6 Sanction cars given that Aston themselves gave the go ahead for them to be built. Given it is hard to tell between a original and a sanction model without opening the hood.

Man, you guys are lucky this is one of the fridays where I can update OP's , what prompted all these nominations ?

Maybe it was the fact that the SR-71 didn't make it out of the Ice Box on my wall. I can kinda see how that'd give people

A continuing urge to get the Miura a companion by delving further into history?

Personally, I'm sceptical as to whether anything else will ever manage it.

Alrighty, rule proposal. Which would you as a community prefer? This is going to be an ongoing poll so whichever option gets in the lead, will be the one used. Which would you rather have for nominations-

A. 6 Guarenteed Posts a week, hopefully on Sunday-Friday, with Saturday off.

Or-

B. 4 guarenteed posts a week, with 2 posts a day on days where I'm available. There will be at least 2 days there will be a post.

Like whichever post has the option you prefer, next week I will use that method. Every Sunday, I will recount the votes, and declare which option will be used that week, before making either the 1 or 2 Cool Wall posts that day.

Note, Option B guarantees less than Option A, but I could be able to post every day, which would lead to 12 cars being nominated.

You can vote for both options if you don't care.

It seems like there is less room for debate when we get two cars a day, and then whenever there is a debate and there isn't a car posted the next day, the debate usually winds up off-topic or repetitive. One post a day for 6 days sounds good to me because it can be a routine.

Alright, so it looks like Option B (The less stressful one for me IMO too ) won, so expect 2 today, and at least 2 more this week.

Thank you guys, now I don't have to stress out between doing this (Which takes around an hour or so between updating OPs, updating spreadsheets & posting threads).

03-04 Kia Rio Sport Pac.
KiaRioSport-Pac_12.jpg

Production:
2003-2004 (?)
Power: 166 hp
Engine: 1.5L I4
Transmission: Either a 4-speed auto or a 5-speed manual, I'm not sure.
Body Style: 4-door sedan
Drivetrain: FF?

Hood scoop is non-functional.

Gonna need a definate on the Drivetrain, Transmission and Years Produced before I can accept it as a nomination.

I'm not sure on the tranny, there's no confirmation (I can only narrow it down to either the 4 or 5-speed). I know it was made from 2003-2005 and it's FF though.

EDIT: Also, it actually makes 95 hp, not 166 hp.

1997-1998 Nissan R390 GT1 Road Car
nisb130121.jpg

From Wikipedia: The Nissan R390 GT1 was a mid-engined racing car built in Atsugi, Japan. It was designed primarily for the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1997 and 1998. It was built to race under the grand tourer style rules, requiring a homologated road version to be built. Therefore, the R390 was built originally as production road car, then a racing version of the car was developed after. Only two R390 road cars were ever built- One was sold through a private auction, without any record, and the other one is stored at Nissan's Zama facility. The road car was capable of 220 mph, which initially surpassed the Jag XJ220 and RUF CTR2 in 1997, but was shortly superseded by the McLaren F1's 241 mph record in 1998.
